Living Dred formed in the summer of �99 under the name Delusion. The original line up was Matt Shields -drums, Joe Shields �vocals/guitar, and Mike Milosch -bass. In the early years the band wasn't so much concerned with playing shows as they were with perfecting thier art. Although practicing was their love they did however have numerous gigs, including a radio show in Burlington, the Slinger House, and as every true party band should they played multiple house parties. In the winter of 2000 Delusion recorded a 22 song CD for fans and friends. This was the band�s first attempt to capture their raw energy in the studio. The CD was an instant success and Delusion quickly developed a loyal following.
In the spring of 2002, Culprit�s former bassist, Tony Gehring was added to the mix to play guitar. A few months later Delusion was forced to change their name due to possible legal action by a Maryland based band with the same name. Living Dred was chosen as their new band name. The first show under the new name was opening for Motion City Soundtrack and Allister at The Globe East. Living Dred almost single handedly packed The Globe East. Following gigs included Gehring Fest located in Hartford, WI. Many new fans witnessed the rock/reggae spectacle that is Living Dred, and can attest that these guys can jam.
