Some Things May Be Better Left Unsaid

"Common! It'll be fun!"

"I dunno, Prongs, time travel could seriously alter our futures to turn out for the worst." Remus Lupin said over the top of his book, James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and himself were the only ones left in the Gryffindor common room.

"Moony, admit it. You want to go and you know it." Sirius grinned at Remus who now had his nose buried in his book again. "Besides, it's only 25 years."

"Agreed," James said, saitting in a squishy armchair near the fire. "We only have one year left here, why not make it the best?"

"Come on, Moony!" Piped in mousy little Peter, who looked up from struggling with his Charms homework.

"Fine," Remus said in a defeated tone. "But I'm not going to get in trouble. I'm going to Disillusion us." Remus added.

"Fine," They all said in unison. Remus began to go around and rap them on the heads, making them blend in with their background, and finally Disillusioned himself, feeling warm drops of what seemed like water going down his back, slowly disappearing into his background.

Remus was the first to arrive in the Great Hall. He heard Sirius, Peter, and James appear next to him. They all watched in silence as a group of Gryffindors walked by. Closest to them were a red head, most likely a Weasley, a bushy haired brown-haired girl with her nose in a book, and someone talking to the redhead about quidditch.

"Bloody hell Prongs, he looks exactly like you." Sirius breathed. "I think he's your son." James looked at Sirius in a disgusted sort of way. But before he could say anything, he heard the bookworm say something.

"Harry, can you please talk about something other than quidditch for once? It's all you talk about now."

"But Hermione, quidditch is the only thing
worth talking about." The red-haired boy said, looking revolted at the idea of talking about something other than quidditch. James crossed his arms.

"Harry, eh? Not my first choice, but it works, I guess." He sighed. "I'm hungry, lets go." He headed of towards the Gryffindor table and began stealing some pancakes and toast.

James finished eating and followed Harry out of the Great Hall, along with Sirius, Remus and Peter. He saw them halt at the bottom of two staircases, and to his, and probably everyone elses, James saw the bookworm and Harry kiss, and they headed off in separate directions.

"Wow, James, even your son has better luck than you," Sirius snickered. "You can't even get Lily Evans to look at you, and Harry can get a girl to ki--" Sirius was abruptly cut off by James socking him in the arm.

"Shut up." At this, James continued up the marble staircase, trying to catch up with Harry. When he rounded the corner, james saw the Weasley boy shouting at Harry.

"Why didn't you tell me?!"

"We forgot, okay? How about this? When you get a girlfriend, you don't have to tell me." Harry was obviously trying to not shout, but he looked as if he was on the verge of shouting. Maybe because of this, Harry rushed up the stairs and out of sight. James rushed after him, closely followed by his friends, and the Weasley boy stayed at the same pace that he was at before.

After a long day of lessons, which weren't with his favorite teachers, Harry sat down in the corner of the common room and began to start on his Potions essay. Although he didn't see them, James, Peter, Remus and Sirius were sitting right across from him. As James saw the Weasley kid walk in from the portrait, he rapped Peter on the head, endeing the Disillusionment Charm. The Weasley stopped in his tracks, and yelled.

"OI, HARRY! LOOK IN FRONT OF YOU!" Harry jumped, and saw Peter, and immediatly(sp?) bound him with ropes.

"How are you planning to kill me now Wormtail?! Going to stab me while I'm doing homework?!" Harry shouted, Peter squeaked.

"I d-don't know what you're talking about!" Peter was very pale in the face. Why was he calling him a murderer? He was only 16! Harry scowled at him.

"Oh sure. Just like you didn't know you sold my parents,- when my dad was your best friend- to Voldemort! And you sent him to kill my parents, and would have seen me die without turning a hair." Peter looked at Harry, as though he didn't know what Harry was talking about, even though he really didn't. And though no one saw it, James' face was white. He rapped his head, becoming visible to Harry, who jumped.

"I-I'm only 16! I never did any of that!" Peter squeaked, who didn't know that James had just appeared behind him.

"He's right. We're only 16, Wormtail never did any of that." Sirius said, who had appeared now, and Remus appeared next to him.

"H-harry," Ron spoke, staring the the four people across from Harry. "I... You sure this isn't a dream?"

Hermione came down the stairs at that moment, and stared at the scene in front of her. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke.

"Harry? What's happening?" She held her brandy-legged cat, Crookshanks closer to her, and almost jumped when Sirius spoke to her.

"So you're Harry's girlfriend, eh?" Sirius grinned at her. She blushed, and looked as if she was holding back from throwing everything near her at him. Sirius however, continued smiling.

"Ahhh... Young love" He sighed. "I remem--AARRGH!!!!" He was cut off by Harry throwing a book at his head and Hermione hitting him with The Tickling Charm. Ron stuffed his fist in his mouth to keep from laughing, and so were all of Sirius' friends too, except James was regaining his color and didn't bother holding back his laughter. It blended in perfectly with Sirius'. James only stopped when hermione removed the Charm and Sirius shot James a grin.

"Well at least Harry has a girlfriend James." Sirius ducked just in time when James shot a curse at him, consequently hitting Peter instead. It turns out that James a sent a Jelly Legs curse at Sirius, because when the curse hit Peter, he crumpled to the ground. Peter could have just fallen though, because there didn't seem to be too much wrong with him, other than the fact that he was in full-body bind. Hermione came and snuggled close to Harry. She glared at Peter, then asked Sirius a question.

"What are you?"

Sirius looked at Hermione abashed.

"I'm only human!" He exclaimed. "Well actually, a wizard, but my family says that being a wizard is better than plain human, but there's not really any difference..." He added in afterthought. James laughed.

"Also, your family's disowned you and you're living at my place." James chided. Harry suddenly stood up.

"I need to get something." He said as he walked up the stairs to the boys' dormitories. He appeared in the common room a minute later, holding an old piece of parchment. James gasped.

"Bloody hell, where'd you get the map?" James gave Harry a curious look.

"Oh, Ron's brothers gave it to me." Harry said, while pointing to Ron. He took his wand out and pointed it at the map. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." he said. James stared at Harry.

"How do you know how to work it?" James looked at his friends. "Maybe one of your future selves taught him?" He put on a wondering look. "Well, it couldn't have been me, I was murdered, wasn't Peter, Harry hates his guts, sorry, Peter. May have been Remus, but I doubt that, Remus would have turned into too much of a rule-abider. Sorry, Remus." James said, seeing the look on James' face.

"Well, it wasn't Sirius, considering the fact that he was thought a mass-murderer by the entire wizarding world, and the killer of brave little Peter Pettigrew, who oh so bravely confronted Sirius for selling-out James and Li-my mum to Voldemort." Harry didn't want to tell James that he would marry Lily, he still wasn't going out with her yet, and Harry was afraid that they might not get together if James knew. James gave Harry aa warning look.

"Watch it Harry, Wormtail hasn't done any of that yet, maybe he won't at all." He added. "Were you about to say Lily before you aaid 'your mum?' As in Lily Evans?"

"No..." Harry's eyes met Peter's, and Harry scowled at him. Hermione didn't want Harry telling them any more of what was to come, so she quickly stood up.

"Harry, I think I left my books in the library, can you come with me to get them?" Harry looked at James, and nodded. He allowed himself to be led out of the portrait hole by Hermione, and disappeared. Remus looked at Ron.

"Is all that stuff really going to happen?" remus asked Ron nervously. Ron nodded and James' eyes widened.

"B-but the future's not written in stone, we can always change it, can't we?" James added hopefully and looked at Ron. When Ron shook his head, James' looked of hope turned to crestfallen fast. "Why?" He asked. Ron sighed.

"I'm not sure I should tell you." Seeing the look on James' face, he added, "You have no idea what he's been through, James. He lost his parents when he was a year old, he was sent to his mum's sister's place, and they forced him to live in a cubboard for 11 years, making him do all the housework, making him his cousin's personal punching bag, and trying to force the magic out of him. And sometimes, they wouldn't feed him for weeks at a time. Oh yeah, and he's been having to fight for his life ever since he came to this school. There's always someone trying to kill him, to get rid of the last of the Potters." He started making a list on his fingers. "First year was a guy in a turban, and the turban had Voldemort under it. Second year, Sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle, soon to be Voldemort, sending a Basilisk after him, dragging my little sis into the Chamber of Secrets. Third year, Peter and about a hundred dementors, He saved Sirius' life then, too, and Peter's. Fourth-year, he had to fight off Voldemort, watch Peter kill one of his new friends, because he was a 'spare' and after that, Barty Crouch's son, impersonating Mad-Eye Moody, dragged him into his office and tried to kill him. Fifth year, he had to watch Bellatrix Lestrange-formerly known as Bellatrix Black- kill her cousin -who shall remain nameless- and laugh about it. Got an idea yet? He's been through even more than that, too." Ron finished.

James stared at Ron.

"All this happened to Harry because me and Lily died?" Ron nodded, then suddenly realized what James had said.

"How di-"

"There's only one girl I know whose name starts with Li." James smiled. At that moment, Harry and Hermione came in. Ron stared at them with disgust.

"What took you two so long?" Ron ignored James and Sirius' snickers while he checked his watch. "It's been a good 20 minutes since you two left."

"We ran into Malfoy. He's stil gloating about that time last year when he took off about 20 points from Gryffindor." Hermione said with a hint of disgust in her voice. She sat down next to Harry and snuggled up next to him.

"And if I remember correctly, he also gave you two detentions for finding you two snogging in the Room of Requirement." Said a drawling voice behind Hermione. Hermione jumped u and looked behind her.

"Patrificus Totalus!" She shouted with her wand pointed at the person behind her. Draco Malfoy fell to the ground in a full body-bind.

"How'd you get in here?" Hermione was close to kicking Malfoy when he spoke.

"I have my ways," He smirked. "Especially when people leave the entrance wide open." Hermione turned to Harry.

"How could you forget to close it? You always closed it before." Harry looked shocked.

"But I didclose it!" Draco's smirk became even wider.

"I heard you say the password, now I can get in whenever I want." Ron glared at malfoy.

"Only until they change the password, which will be soon, we've been using that password for a long time now." Ron turned to James. "You know any spells that might be useful right now?" James grinned.

"Well there is this one we always use on Lucius and Snivellus. Here, I'll show you." James pointed his wand at Malfoy. "Lavus Naus" Malfoy started to dance around the common roomin an extremeley girlish way. Every body was doubled over laughing, and draco glared while starting to do ballet.

"I'll get you, Potter." Draco danced out of the portrait hole.
