| HOW WE STARTED: Living Hope Organization started on DATE Three people started this care and support group. It operates on three levels: Counseling, Anonymous follow up of patients, home-based care visit & medical help with the provision of support for the infected & affected. The people who put the this organization together were: The nature of this NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) service is human oriented, and centered. It's adequately involved in the eratication of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our local government and beyond through it's preventive awareness programmers. Our Mission: To improve the lives of AIDS orphans and vunerable children, widow and people infected/living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/PABA). Through counseling, education, enlightenment, stigma/discrimination reduction, care and support. Our Vision: To reduce the growth of HIV/AIDS drastically to the barest minimum, and those infected/affected treated accurately and allowed to live free of stigma, discrimination, and shame with access to drugs. Provide advocacy and handle legal issues affecting (PLWH/PABA). Help members play key role(s) in the prevention and control of this HIV/AIDS epidemic, with the mindset of safeguarding the entire populace. *Geographic area served: South Eastern States of Nigeria. There are follow-up opportunities for clients and family members as described; if the patient contacted the organization when ill, the patient is followed up from the hospital to the home where all the family members are trained on the case and nutrition of the patient. |
