WINTER CAMPING TIPS
Make sure your sleeping bag is warm enough to keep you warm at night.  If you have to, double them (one inside the other).
Avoid down for sleeping bag filling, as it is easy to get wet and if it does, it will loose all its insulating power.
Drink lots of water, even though you may not think you need in the winter.  Also drink hot drinks, such as hot chocolate or coffee.
Your body acts as a furnace to keep you warm.  Keep it fueled.  Eat high-calorie foodssuch as chocolate, nuts, or berries.  Eat even if you don't think you need it.
Cold comes up through the ground, so use a Thermorest* or a closed cell foam sleeping pad.
If cooking with a light-weight stove,  put a 1'x1' peice of plywood under it , it will keed the feul flowing and your stove working to its full potential.
If you don't have a pair of snowshoes, cross-country skis, or other mode of transpotation, you can make emergency snowshoes by lashing branches of evergreen to your feet.
