| Sometime in late 2001 Doug joined a punk band. Doug had been drumming for a very long time, since he was a wee lad! This particular punk band just wasnt his style and (with some hard feelings) left the band. He then teamed up with Jared, who had been playing guitar for 2 or 3 years, and started a new, still nameless band. They had many options for a bassist but Doug convinced Jared to let Ren play bass. Ren couldnt play a damn thing on bass though, he was just learning and only had a tiny secondhand radioshack amp and a total piece of a bass, so Doug hooked him up with some stuff and they played. Arlee Logan then self-proclaimed himself manager of the band... They named theirselves Live On Impact (LOI) because, well, actually I forget but I'm pretty sure it doesnt really have a meaning. LOI's first public appearence was in early 2002, for English class (SILLICK!!!), Arlee recorded them playing a song called Xanadu (its a poem). This song was quite crappy and I dont think too many people remember it... They kinda quietly kept going after that. Arlee played keyboard now too and made a interesting addition to the band. One day, Jared asked Kyle Z. to sing for LOI, and he said yes! So LOI finally had a member who would sing. They practiced 2 times with Kyle before they played a really big show at school... "It sucked, alot.." states Ren about the show... Alas, the show was quite crappy, they played two songs (Jammin and Deep In Thought) and an opening song (Later became One True Love)... One night online Jason P. and Colleen F. showed interest in becoming the managers of LOI (which lasted for about a day...). They were let in and Arlee lost his manager title. Jason made LOI a sweet site that was taken offline mysteriously during the summer somehow... We were told it was hacked... Sometime after the variety show, LOI had two more practices with Kyle and then he went on vacation. That vacation away from LOI was a permanent one, as he never quite came back. The thing that kills most bands: communication problems, had set in, and after not hearing from Kyle (or vice versa) for awhile, a mutual decision between the band and Kyle was formed and Kyle left the band with no hard feelings. LOI then kind of floated in the void for a while, playing at various private shows and making enough money to buy a P.A. And yes, they did get better. During this time they also lost contact with Arlee. But a party at Phils house reunited Arlee with the now not-bad band. They just needed a better singer. After that little show, they played a few more, often spending their money on Speedway Park tickets (oh yeah) and junk. Right before school started, LOI wrote a song called Fallout, which was a start of some decent music. A few more decent songs were written by LO, and a kid named Ethan joined our band for a few weeks.. We played a show at Chasers nightclub and then watched the other bands, and thats when we realized we werent too good at all... Ethan kind of dropped out of the band (lucky him...) We sort of played together a little bit after that, hoping we could maybe become better, until another local band offerered to let Doug play as the drummer. This killed LOI for the most part, and they haven't really played all together since. Jared plays a little bit with some local metalheads, Doug plays with American Protest, and Ren just kind of plays by himself and with Ethan or anyone else he can find. LOI was reunited for a show in July and made 126 bucks, they then switched places in the band. Rens on guitar, Doug plays bass, Jareds still alos on guitar, and now a new guy, Josh P. is on drums. | ||
