Brian was my husband. We were married on August 29th, 1996 in Indianapolis. We honeymooned on a Royal Carribean Cruise traveling to the Bahamas. We owned a flower shop together. Brian had one daughter from a previous marriage. He had just become a grandfather. We never had any children together. Our marriage had many ups and downs but through it all we loved each other even when it wasnt good for us. Brian served in The Marine Corps for several years and received an honorable discharge. He was in the construction trades till he was sidelined by a work related injury. |

Brian was a good man at heart. He only showed this side of himself in private - he thought it made him weak. The everyday Brian was selfish and self-centered. He had struggled with a serious drug and alcohol problem since his teen years. He attempted Narcotics Anonymous in the late 90's and was able to string five years of solid clean time together. Then he relapsed and was back into drugs on some level since then. His final days were spent in a methodone daze. He finally overdosed and was taken from this world on May 25th, 2006. I think his overdose is the saddest part of his life. He was really such a good person and to waste his life like that was a shame. There is a saying though and it goes....If you touch just one person in your life then your life was worth living. Brian touched my life. He loved me in a way that I thought I would never be loved by a man - it was truely a new and wonderful experience. The price..a lot of heartache and pain. He made loving him and being a good wife to him as difficult as possible. Even though the rough times what kept me going was the memory of the good times for they were golden. I pray for his soul everyday. I release his spirit into the great unknown. May he send back to me a love to be experienced in greater and longer measures. |
