Anonymous writes... My interest in live-food comes from years of gut problems and fatigue, plus asthma & meds. My ideal diet would be a predominantly fruit RVAF, something like Wai Genriiu, since we are primates. But I have trouble with mainly fruit diets: - more than 12 pieces fruit gives gas & loose stools (6-9 pieces ideal) - raw fibre from fruit skins, nuts, veg, & veg juice gives colon pain - raw greens (cuc, broc, avo?) give face rash So my next options are: - David Klein mainly fruit diet (hold on tight while gut worsens & pray self-healing runs faster than gut irritation) - cooked vegan diet (can't because starch is enemy #1 for my gut) - fasting (too hard at home, tried 10 days water) - Specific Carbohydrate Diet or Low-carb (have been on past 2 years with improvement, but not full answer) - anti-microbials (don't think my gut or liver can take much more) - spartan/minimal natural hygiene diet (too hard: cold, stress, fatigue,...) - RVAF diet of mainly fruit & RAFs My first experience was not great...I tried an RVAF diet for 7 weeks: - 12 pieces fruit - 2-3 avocados - raw lemon curd goats cheese - one big meal of RAFs, mainly fish, with tomatoes Positives on RVAF: - skin: puffed up, more youthful, minor fatty skin blobs went from eyes, fingers & toes Negatives: - increasing chesty mucus lead to nasty cold with mucus from lungs & sinus (some 5 months later I still had lingering chest mucus, particularly from dairy) - skin, scalp problems, & hair loss worsened (maybe too much purine foods like mackerel) - dog-tired fatigue after repeatedly eating mackerel which tasted a little funny (cleared after stopping mackerel) - diarrhea from fatty foods did not improve on raw: fatty meats, eggs, oils - allergies did not improve on raw: egg, chicken, turkey - looked & felt anemic (tho somewhat preexisting condition from tests), didn't feel absorbing much from RAFs So what now? I just finished a one month fruit 'fast'(6 pieces per day): - felt colon & small intestine cramping (assume healing cramps) - nothing else radical, just generally cleaner & lighter I have re-started RVAF: - 9-12 pieces fruit - 2-4 avos - dinner: 2 oranges juiced, 3 tomatoes, about 5-800g RAFs (lean beef, some fish & chicken) - B vitamins (about 20mg) - may add lemon curd cheese (from raw goats milk treated with lactase drops) After 2 weeks RVAF things are OK: - feel somewhat more perked - pressure is up, veins are popping out (good for me) - skin is buffed (tho a few pimply blobs). Will see how I go: may alternate RVAF with fruit 'fasts'. Other Notes: - most food not organic (except chicken) - need 3 MaxEPA capsules to prevent itchy arms & legs from fruit, and scalp problems - seem to do better on B vitamins (hair, not anemic, energy) - RAFs semi-dried in the fridge for 1-3 days to improve flavour (much tastier) At 2 months on RVAF: - mega sleepiness (could be healing/detox, or could be inability to break-down something in the RAFs [ammonia?]) worse on white fish (smell gives instant drowsiness). eased off fish and more onto beef with improvement. concerned that my liver/kidneys might be struggling. - no hair loss or anemia - a couple of odd bursts of energy, otherwise only mild improvement in fatigue - hair is less oily - chesty mucus subsides on RAFs, tho mild clear mucus in throat/sinus increases - a few minor boils/zits from RAFs At 6 months RVAF (minor deviation at Xmas): - not much sleepiness anymore (fish seems worst cuplrit, so eased off) - typical diet is fruit, avo & cheese during the day, then optionally RAFs at night (up to a plate full), plus sometimes pine nut butter - gut has improved further: can tolerate more fruit - still low on energy - generally don't look/feel great after heavy periods on RAFs - overdosing on avo's at times unfortunately - if can psyche myself, may minimise protein/fat for long-term detox (to maybe help fatigue) - no desire to return to cooked foods At 9 months: - recent test shows elevated Alkaline Phosphatase. This could be either from raw dairy (AlkPh is contained in raw milk and is an indicator that milk is not pasteurised), or serious healing, or liver/bone disease or something worse (gulp!)... Worried RAFs are too hard on my digestion/liver/metabolism: now minimising RAFs. Eating mainly fruit - have found bananas OK and these are bulk of my diet. Considering ditching RAFs altogether and replacing with some cooked foods (preferably grains/legumes if can handle)... At 12 months: - past few months have been mainly fruit (my fruit intake is all day long now), plus RAFs (mainly beef & cheese) up to about 300g/day. Bananas well tolerated and helped a little with energy. Look and feel the best I have in a few years but still not enough energy for work. AlkPh follow-up test is down more towards normal. Suspected long-standing liver disease (fat intolerance, fatty skin blobs, carotenemic, fatigue, itching, few spider veins, ultrasound liver spot [supposed benign]). But biliary cirrhosis AMA test -ve. So still none the wiser. Mutant chest mucus, coughing, plus some asthma - seems related to banana intake. But preferable to other symptoms. Suspected adrenal suppression (grew up on asthma drugs, one kidney slightly smaller than normal). But random cortisol normal. May try great smokies adrenal test when can afford it. Briefly tried some sprouts, mainly chick pea sprouts, but red spots started appearing inside legs like I used to get from gluten/starch - so well and truly spooked off grains for now. Some more gas/looseness has also returned since sprouts so maybe ingested bacteria from sprouts - or maybe just too much fruit. |
