| Jo walked swiftly across the front lawn to the front door, she knocked on it quietly and Brian answered soon after, "Morning," She smiled, "You look tired�am I too early?" She asked as he moved out of the way and let her walk into the house. "No you are not too early�I am tired because I didn't get much sleep last night." "Me either." Jo replied simply as she placed her brief case on the table and looked at Brian, his gaze was directed to the floor as she watched him, both in silence. ~*~ Nick handed Julia her clothes from the dryer and offered her his shower. She smiled at him and as she showered and got ready he cleaned up the breakfast mess. When she returned to the kitchen to find him he was looking out a window in deep thought also clothed in clean clothes. "Penny for your thoughts�" She whispered softy making him turn around. He smiled at her, "Hey�I was just thinking about what I have to do today." "And what do you have to do today?" She asked as she took a seat on one of the chairs, "If you don't mind me asking." She added thoughtfully. He smiled, "I was just thinking about how I am going to convince you to spend the day with me." She smiled at him brightly and bit her lip softly, "You could ask." He smiled at her again, "Will you spend the day with me?" "Well I don't know�" She trailed off and Nick looked away from her teasing gaze. "Alright but first I have to make a stop at my best friend Brian's...is that ok?" "Hey I haven't even said yes yet." He smiled, took her hand and pulled her up, "Well we should go now and then we can go to Brian's and then we will have the day to do what we want to do." Julia smiled at his back as he pulled her through the house and outside to his car. ~*~ Brian looked up at Jo and she smiled at him, "What's wrong?" She asked noting the confusion on his face. "Nothing," He answered as he shook his head from left to right. "I don't believe you." She said with a smile as she folded her arms and leaned against the counter. He sighed and looked at her, "So what do we have to plan today?" He asked changing the subject. "Lots of stuff." She answered as she opened her brief case and pulled some stuff out, a little hurt that Brian wouldn't tell her why he was so confused. Brian took a seat and she took one beside him, "Have you talked to Miss Wallace?" He nodded, "Last night...well early this morning." She nodded, "And when will she be back?" "She didn't say." "Ok...so we are still postponing the wedding by two weeks?" He nodded and starred at her as she looked through sheets of paper looking at them, pulling some aside rather then others. She could feel his gaze upon her and tried to ignore it but soon her gaze met his and they starred at each other. She smiled, "You need to smile." She replied to his solomn face. He smiled at her, "I'm just...confused. I'm sorry." "Don't be sorry Brian. What are you confused about?" 'Leigh Anne.' Brian thought as he looked at her, 'Wanting to take you on my honeymoon instead of her...' His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. Brian stood and went to the door, "Hey Nick." He greeted when he opened the door to see him with a girl just shorter then him. He opened the door wider to let them in, "Brian this is Julia. Julie this is Brian." Brian smiled and shook Julia's hand warmly. They followed Brian into the kitchen where Jo was sitting at the table, she looked up, "Hey Nick." He smiled, "Jo. This is Julia. Julie this is Jo." The two women smiled warmly at each other and shook each others' hands. Nick looked at Brian and Jo, "Where's Leigh Anne?" "She had to go home to Georgia for a few days." Nick's eyebrows rose, "You guys are here...alone?" Brian looked at Nick with a warning look and Nick chuckled softly to himself shutting up, "Well I just came to see if you needed me for anything today...with the wedding I mean. If not me and Julie are spending the day together." Brian looked at Jo, "Don't ask me...ask her." Brian laughed as he pointed to Jo. "Jo...you need me?" Nick asked. "No I don't think so." Jo replied softly as she looked up at him with a smile. "Nick can I talk to you for a minute?" Brian asked? Nick looked at him, "Yeah sure." He looked at Julia, "Take a seat I will be right back." She smiled at him and Brian and Nick left the room. "So Jo, Nick told me Brian is getting married, are you the lucky lady?" Jo looked up at Julia as she began talking and sat in shock as she let her question sink in. ~*~ "What do you think of her?" Nick asked Brian once they were in the other room. "She's nice Nick." Brian answered. Nick smiled, "So what do you want to talk about?" Nick asked. Brian looked up at him, "I swear if I tell you and you gloat because you were right or say one word to me that I don't like I swear I will kill you." "Ok ok geez, what's your problem?" Brian looked up at him. "Come on Brian you can tell me I am your best friend." Brian sighed and looked away from his gaze, "I can't stop thinking about her." "Who Leigh Anne?" Nick asked. "No Nick...Jo." |
