Commercial throttle conversions route the throttle & gear shift cables forward from the
engine which would make access difficult & probably hit the side of the
gangway on hard left turns.
I made my own conversion with the cables leaving the outboard vertically & looping down by the back door. They do slightly restrict access to starboard but there is no tripping hazard through the gangway & the outboard can be tilted freely.
A sail boat type throttle control was chosen to fit neatly into the recess under the window
