Program Information

Many moments throughout the day are learning experiences. Whether I am teaching a new sound while changing a diaper,

singing a song during lunch, encouraging movement on the floor, reading a book, or simply just talking to your child while

in my arms, your child will be stimulated and encouraged to learn new things.

I do not have a strict, rigid schedule for the children. However, we do become very routined in our day. I feel it is important

to be consistent with feeding and napping times as they become a little older. Routines keep their days more predictable,

as well as your evenings. I am always very flexible as the children’s needs always come first.

Each child has their own separate Pack-n-Play. Infants are usually in an individual room since most children wake up at

separate times and cots are placed together in our main area.

Your child is guaranteed healthy, nutritious meals. I have two highchairs, two booster seats ,and a Little Tikes picnic table just

their size as they transition to a table.

I also complete an Infant Report Card daily for your child up to age one. I feel it is very important to let you know how your

child’s day went, what they ate, what their temperament was, and let you know any cute things they may have done during

the day. Once your child reaches age one, I will give you a verbal report card. At that age their daily schedule is very consistent.

Our Indoor Learning Experience

Our home and surroundings are very safe for your child. You will mostly find us on my main floor in our separate play area set up just for kids. I have indoor play equipment for both small and large motor skills. Inside you can find a variety of books, infant, toddler, and preschool toys, a Peek-a-Boo Tunnel, a climber with stairs and a slide, play Hut tent with tunnel, a play kitchen with food, a shopping cart, and more.

Our Backyard Experience

My back yard is set up for large motor skill activities. Children love climbers and there is plenty of room to run!

I have a large sandbox for building castles, digging holes, or simply using your own imagination. The possibilities are endless. We have everything we need right in our own back yard.

I have plenty of bird feeders for the children to discover this beautiful part of nature. We may watch the colorful flowers grow or just crawl around on the soft grass. You may also find us going on walks. I have a double stroller for the infants while the toddlers and preschoolers walk with me.

Daily Program Description

Free Play

The children have the benefit of using the materials set out for them in each of the daycare areas. The areas are set up so that the materials are easily reached by all of the children. Each area encourages a different type of play and learning. The daycare areas consist of: dramatic play area, building area, books/puzzle area, sensory area, and art area.

Circle Time

During circle time the children sit as a group. We complete our calendar activities. We talk about what month it is, day it is, the weather, and our special days. Our special days are birthdays, park day, and library day. We also dress our weather bear in appropriate clothing for the day.

After we talk about our day we usually complete an activity that reflects on our weekly theme as well as one of our learning objectives (numbers, alphabet, shapes, or colors).

Then the children and I close circle time by singing songs. We sing ones that we already know and we learn other songs that reflect our weekly theme.

Outside Time

Generally outside time is free play time where the children are able to play with gross motor toys. I provide the children with a swing set, slides, ride on toys/tricycles, balls, basket ball net, sand box,Step 2 kiddie pool with slide and tables to sit at. During the winter months the children are provided with snow shovels, toboggans, and other snow toys.

In the summer months we sometimes have our snack time outside. We do this only if it is not too hot or raining.

Rest/Sleep Time

This is the time where the younger children of the group have time to have a nap. I provide cots and play pens for children to sleep on. Children are welcome to bring one item other than a soother to sleep with. (stuffed toy, blanket, etc)

The children that do not sleep are able to watch a t.v. show or a movie during this time.

I use this time during the day to work on planning for the children for up coming activities. I also use this time to eat my lunch and have a break!

The movies and shows that I provide for the children are non violent movies. Some of the t.v. shows that we watch are Sesame Street, Bear in the Big Blue House, Dora the Explorer, Blues Glues, etc. The choice of movies consist of Disney. Some of the movies I have are: Dumbo, Monsters Inc., Ice Age, Dora the explorer, Cinderella, Toy story ,etc.

Daily Schedule

A healthy breakfast is served including a variety of items including whole grain foods and plenty of fruits and

vegetables. We then have free play time which is where I give special attention to the younger children who

do not participate in the preschool curriculum. A healthy morning snack is served and we are on to the Mother

Goose Time preschool program which is taught during the school year. We will go outside before lunch if

time allows. It is then on to nap time. When everyone is awake we will have a healthy afternoon snack.

We then go outside and play until the parents arrive, weather dependent.
