A chilly night and some overdue words
Many things that needed to be heard
A comforting look; some cleansing tears
Confusion disperses and things become clear
Feelings released; opinions are said
Countless thoughts run through my head
The urge to regrain; the need to fight
Spontaneous pull to hold my heart tight
The fading scenes of memories past
In hopes that future ones better will last
Make way for surprise; make way for change
Not knowing what future days will arrange
Take into account the best for two
Believe in the gift of friendship renewed.
