The Beavis Campsite on the Bibbulmun Track is about 330 kilometers from Perth in Western Australia. The main feature of the Bibbulmun Track here are the tall Karri Trees that line the track. I accessed the track by motor car, driving along the Nannup/Pemberton Road (Vasse Highway) and at the 35 kilometer mark turning down Seven Day Road. A few kilometers along this road, at a crossroad is a Bibbulman Track sign and a parking area for day trippers. According to map number 5 of the Bibbulmun Track this crossroad is Strickland Road, however it had a sign on it saying Link Road. |

The road signs are confusing, so too is the map put out by CALM (Conservation And Land Management), the track just does not go the way as marked and the Beavis Campsite is also not at the place as marked. For example, the track crosses Link Road quite close to the campsite but this is not evident on the map.
The Waugal signs guided me there OK though!
Maybe the next issue of the map will have the track and the campsite in the right place.
The Karri trees along the way were tall and magnificent. Even in summer the water flows in the creeks here.
There were colourful parrots and a couple of interesting varieties of kangaroo paw flowers along the way. A lot of plants here would go well in pots at home.
I know it's illegal to pick them! |

Good ol' CALM. They cut a pathway through this fallen tree. |

This ants nest built beside the track is amazing. A nice rounded pile of sticks. |

The southern campsites are constructed a little differently from those in the north. And, the swimming hole at the campsite. |

Beware of man-eating trees. This tree has eaten somebody! There's one of these in Kirup townsite. |

Not long before I reached the campsite there was this hill. Steep up and steep down, why couldn't it go around!! |
