After a year in rural dorset, Emily and her family moved to a town of Crewkerne, Somerset, which was just over the border from Dorset. Here she attended Maiden Beech Middle School, and made lots of cool friends, some of whom she knows to this day. Highlights of her time here included learning twinkle twinkle little star on the violin, singing in the choir, and causing havoc to her teachers. In year 9 she mived to Wadham Community School, where she became rather active and participated in many house acitivites such as hockey, football, netball, cross country and athletics. Yes, that's Emily. She also trekked 18 miles over Exmoor for some crazy reason, with Steph (She got a dodgy leg and got a lift to the finish), Ben and Gervaise. Ahem. Anyway She was cruelly torn from all her fun and frolics when in Sept 1999 She moved to Derbyshire, and attended Highfields School, oh dear what a let down. She bravely re-did all her GCSE coursework and battled the hords of people who ignored her for en entire year and even taught herself History and RE. After that trauma, she stayed on for 6th Form, where she met her kindred spirit Lorrie (see www.geocities.com/kiti_mittens) and althought they fell out a lot they always remanied friends, esp when everyone else fell out with them and they were united outcasts. Two happy years eating chip cobs and cheese toasties prevailed, espcially the french lessons.
Now after obtaining AABCC in her A levels, Emily applied to do Law but then changed her mind and went to Nottingham to study English. She lasted a month of hell before quitting, and then spent a year in a proper job at a Building Society. She saved up and decided to go to University again, to do Speech Therapy at Sheffield. However, disillusioned with the lack of funding for herself and wanting a new direction in life, Emily has now quit University again.....the saga continues......
Emily Biography
Emily was born on the momentous day of 30th September 1983, two weeks late, as usual. She grew up a blissful only child until 18 months later tragedy struck and Lydia was born. From then on they were collectively known as 'The Girls' and are to this day. Some memorable moments of sisterly love include Lydia climbing into Emily's bed when she was 7 years old, and throwing up all over her beloved sister in her sleep, blaming Emily for various naughty events such as spitting toothpaste down the stairs and getting her beloved sister to go AWOL on stage when she was the Angel Gabriel in the church nativity play. Apart from the odd fight, they grew up together with their Mum and Dad in Bridgemary, Hampshire with their Nan and Grandad just over the hill until Emily was 9 years old. The family moved to Dorset, which was a culture shock for two city girls who had hardly seen grass let alone pigs, as they first lived in a twee cottage next to a pig farm. Hmm, smelly. A year at Broadwindsor Primary School, possibly the smallest school ever with the scariest teacher ever, taught Emily never to go into education. During this time Emily enjoyed the triumph of becoming a runner-up in a blue peter competition, and won a 5 phone card and a blue peter badge. But she lost the phone card, which she had never opened hoping it to be a collectors item. Ooops.
