Project Based Learning
When I first began researching project based learning, I was at first a bit overwhelmed.  Then, I began to realize that I had been implementing some of the ideas in my own classroom already.  Project based learning is based on the concept of chidlren gearing their own studies.  Research has found it to be beneficial for many reasons, including the fact that when a person has control over their learning, they tend to be more interested, thus more productive.

My goal right now is to learn more about this wonderful approach.  Once I feel more confident, I will begin to develop lesson plans that I think will fit the needs of elementary teachers.  Some of the units on our cover page are in line with Project Based Learning, however, I think they are missing some crucial components.  They would provide a good place to start however, and the projects will allow students to find the answer to a specific question.
