| ALL ABOUT MYSELF AND MY FAMILY | ||||
| This month, we will continue on our journey of learning about present times versus past times. We will trace our life, including major important events (birth, birth of siblings, first day of Kindergarten, etc.) and we will record these events on a timeline. We will also focus on our family members such as our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and we will brainstorm and research what life may have been like for these family members when they were children. My Family Math Activity Houghton Mifflin 2nd grade Family Unit The Napping House Lesson **Math Lesson: Research our granparents' favorite games as children and graph our findings. Compare these findings with games children play today. California State Content Standards: 2.1 Students differentiate between things that happened long ago and things that happened yesterday. Trace the history of a family through the use of primary and secondary sources, including artifacts, photographs, interviews, and documents. Compare and contrast their daily lives with those of their parents, grandparents, and/ or guardians. Place important events in their lives in the order in which they occurred (e.g., on a time line or storyboard). |
