Knives put together to kill Vash, or at least bring him to him. Each GHG has some sort of supernatural ability or talent (be it wierd hypnotic eye, or giant spikey ball armor.) Knives appointed Legato Bluesummers as leader , and the rest is history....

Anime: Spent almost 20 years working out to become strong enough to kill Vash. He was promised that if he killed Vash, he would be set free. Mine the E. G. Mine then kills him and strings his body up on a water tank.

Anime: Only female member of the Gung Ho Guns. She apparently hypnotizes people with her freaky red eye.
Manga: Her eye isn't red, it looks kinda snakelike.

Kills: Claimed he killed Monev the Gale and Dominique the Cyclops, but the anime doesn't show it.

Manga: Wolfwood shoots Rai-Dei in the middle of his fight with Vash.
Name: Leonof the Puppetmaster

Anime: An old man who can make realistic looking puppets. Uses them for spying or delivering messages.
Manga: He spent his childhood on the Seeds ship and was friends with Vash. Kills himself.
Name : Gray the Ninelives

Killed By: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Anime: A robot thing that's out to kill Vash.Ends up destroying the ship's Plant.
Manga: Gray is really a robotic puppet operated on the inside by nine midgets. Two survive Wolfwood and are taken prisioner.
Name: Hoppered the Gantret
Appears in: Episode 21
Kills: Farina, Varre, Jones, and a couple of unnamed people.
Killed By: Kills himself
Anime: Pretty much a human bullet...dies in a kamikaze attack.
Manga: hopperd goes after Vash to avenge his love, who was killed in the flattening of July by Vash. After overexerting his body, he dies a peaceful death.
Name: Zazie the Beast
Appears In: Episode 22
Kills: a few unnamed people
Killed By: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Anime: A young boy (10-12?) who can control the giant sandworms. Wolfwood shoots him in the reight temple, killing him.
Manga: Zazie is a collection of insects living in the young boy's body. Hopperd destroys the body, but the insects reappear in the body of a young girl.

Anime: Chapel is Wolfwod's superior who carries a similar looking cross gun. Created for the anime
Mnaga: Wolfwood IS Chapel. His orders from Knives are to protect Vash and deliver him to Knives unharmed.
Note: Is it just me or does Chapel look exactly like the bad guy from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"?

Anime: Tall skinny scary guy with the ability to sit out in the desert for weeks at a time. Created by Noriyuki Jinguji.
Manga: Does not appear in the manga.
Name: Midvalley the Hornfreak
Appears In: Episode 24

Killed By: Kills himself
Anime: Legato's right hand man. Sound waves from his saxophone can destroy entire buildings. He dies from the schrapnel from the bomb he sets in his saxophone.
Manga: Killed shen he took a stand against Legato. Legato then temporarily animated his body.
