About the Provider
Hello, my name is Tonja and I am the owner and provider of Little Friends. We have been open since March 2000.  I have 13 yrs experience in child care and was just awarded a scholarship from Indiana TEACH to finish my Associates in Child Development with an emphasis in Early Literacy. I am CPR and First Aid trained and a non smoker. I am a mother of two wonderful boys ages 9 and 12.
About the Daycare
Little Friends is a licensed exempt daycare
caring for up to 5 children, ages 0-5 yrs of age. Because of our small provider to child ratio, you can rest assured that your child is receiving the one on one attention that they need and deserve at their young age. With a smaller group, your child's care can be more individualized for them and their daily needs.
Little Friends prides itself as being a quality child care home with a homelike atmosphere.

Our Infant Program
We provide quality care for children as young as 4 weeks old. Our infants are kept as close to the provider as possible at all times. We are trained in the "Back To Sleep" program and keep all sleeping babies on their backs at all times. We will work with you in these first months of life to help your infant get on a well adjusted feeding and sleeping schedule. Each infant will be held during feedings, monitored closely while sleeping, and given individual attention with lots of tlc and cuddle time with his or her provider each day.

What to Expect from the Provider
What the Provider Expects from You
~ Open communication about your child at all times. Your provider can't help if she's unaware of any problems or issues.

~ Payment on time. Your provider has bills too and provides many things for your child such as: food, toys, art materials, utilities, etc.

~ Keep a sick child at home. Please be considerate of your provider and the other daycare children and keep a child who is sick and contagious out of daycare until all symptoms are gone.

~ Be on time to pick your child up in the evenings. Your provider has a family and other obligations, and schedules her time around the daycare's hours.

~ Respect and follow daycare policies.
~ Open communication about your child's day, any problems or issues and how they're progressing in daycare.

~ Reliability. Your provider should understand that you rely on her to care for your child each day so that you can fulfill your obligations.

~ A true love for children. Child care is a hard job. It is rewarding for those who truly have patience and a love for children, but for those who don't, they will get burnt out quickly and quit childcare.

~ A kid friendly environment. Your provider's home should be childproof and
have things that would pertain to children such as: books, toys, puzzles, etc.

~ Respect for each parent's input.

~Quality Child Care Isn't Expensive, It's Priceless!~
Our PreSchool Program
Our Toddler Program
Our day consists of learning through indoor play, outdoor play,  circle time, learning time, crafts, art and the child's imagination. We help each child  prepare for  Kindergarten with a love for learning. Children at this age are encouraged to use appropriate manners and social behaviors both here and at home.
Our day consists of perfecting how to be a toddler. This is perfected through play, play and more play. Other toddler favorites include: snack time, limited educational videos or tv programs, story time and nap time. At this age, we are just starting to learn what sharing is all about. Everything is learning at this stage.
