About the Program
Children are unique and it is in celebrating their inviduality that they can grow to become the people they are meant to be.

My program is designed for the child as an individual. Activities are planned based on each child's abilities, needs and interests.  No child is forced to participate in an activity though they are encouraged to try new things. It is in exploration that they learn the most.

While my program is educational it is based on the principle that children learn through play. Exploring, questioning, interacting and imagining are the keys to a child's mind and while it may look as though a child is just 'fooling around' he is actually processing information about the world around him.

I offer activities in several developmental areas including art, science, sensory, language, cognitive (math), dramatic and gross motor play.  All activities are designed to meet the needs and abilities of all of the children in the program.

Infant/Toddle Program (to age 2)

The infant/toddler program is mainly sensory. The children are provided toys and experiences that engage their interest with sounds, textures, colours and patterns. We sing a lot of songs, do fingerplays and  simple, repetative stories and rhymes. The infants and toddlers are encouraged to explore everything around them.

Preschool Program (2-3 yrs)

The preschool program is slightly more structured. Theme based acitivities are provided daily in all areas of development.  The children begin to learn basic skills such as cutting with scissors and holding a crayon properly. We also begin to develop self help skills such as dressing/undressing, toilet training and hygiene. Social skills such as sharing and playing cooperatively are developing. Early concepts such as shapes, colours, number and letters are part of the curriculum.

Kindergarten Enrichment Program (4-5 yrs)

The kindergarten enrichment program compliments what your child is learning at school. Early reading and writing skills are developing and activities are provided to assist in this. Problem solving, social and self help skills are also developed through a wide variety of activities and play.

After School Program ( 6 yrs +)

School aged children are provided with recreational opportunities after school as well as some much needed 'time to chill out' after a long day at school.  Homework help is provided upon parent request.
