Mish’s Story

Mish sighed and sat back in his chair. He looked down at the table he was working at, at the nearly complete lightsaber. He smiled and reached for the crystal, the last component of the weapon. He placed it in it holding and closed the casing.

He scooted the chair back and stood up, bringing the lightsaber with him. The construction of the weapon had taken him about three weeks. He wanted to get everything right as to not look like a fool in front of him new friends. His finger went to the activation button and the pressed it.

The neon yellow blade sprang to life in front of him. He jumped back and nearly dropped the weapon.

When he recovered he deactivated the weapon and went in search of Tenel Ka.


Tenel Ka looked out from under her red gold hair at her opponent, Jacen Solo. He stood across the clearing from her smiling back her. She narrowed her eyes and ran at him.

The expression on Jacen face went from glee at being with his girlfriend to horror at the attack. He didn have anytime to react before she tackled him to the ground.

Jacen wrestled under her strong grip. Even with one hand she still had him pinned tightly to the ground. He looked up at her and smiled. She let him go and sat back on his stomach.

"Can we do that again?" he asked.

Tenel Ka smiled ever so softly and laid down next to Jacen. She kissed his cheek and cuddled close to her.

"Few more months Tenel. Then we can get married."

"I can wait, Jacen my friend."

Jacen rolled over and propped himself up on his elbow. He gazed at Tenel Ka and smiled again. "Neither can I."

Tenel Ka sat up and looked back at Jacen. "Come on. I hungry."

"Whatever you say Ten."

Tenel Ka stood then turned to help Jacen up. He smiled up at her and jumped up without her help.

She took off toward the temple full speed, leaving Jacen back in the clearing, alone.


Mish was lucky he was walking on one side of the hallway. Tenel Ka came rushing down the hall full speed.

"Hey Tenel!" Mish called.

Tenel Ka came to a screeching stop and turned to Mish.

"Hey Mish. Can I help you?"

"I was wondering if you have time to help me with my lightsaber drills. You being the top warrior and all."

"When would the appropriate time be?"

"How about now?"

"I have to eat. How about a little later."

"Ok. I l come looking for you again."

"Agreed. See you then."

Tenel Ka turned around and headed back toward the dining hall. Mish smiled after her and cocked his head to the side.

Ever since the change Hapens go through Tenel Ka was the most desirable woman at the Jedi academy. Even more so than Master Skywalker wife, Mara Jade. Unfortunately for most ever guy at the school, she was all ready committed to Jacen Solo. Mish respected that and only looked at Tenel Ka as the unattainable goal.

Mish shook his head and started back toward his room.


Tenel Ka had her lunch and found a seat by the time Jacen entered the dining hall. He grabbed a quick meal and joined Tenel Ka.

"What took you so long? Is something wrong."

Jacen looked up at Tenel Ka from the food he been picking at. "Nothing."

"Something is wrong! You can tell me."

"I just feel like I having to share you with all the other guys at the academy."

Tenel Ka sighed and smiled softly at Jacen. "I am a teacher. I have to help those who ask. I do agree that a lot who ask are guys. My heart only belongs to you."

"I know. I guess I just jealous."

"I would be to," Tenel Ka said softly, looking down at her food.


Mish looked around the clearing nervously, the back to Tenel Ka.

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

"I feel like we e being watched. It nothing. Forget it."

Tenel Ka nodded. "Ok. Now let try the remote again. Then depending on your progress we l move on."

Tenel Ka pulled a remote; similar to the one Master Skywalker had trained her with, and a visor that would make the remote invisible to Mish. She tosses it at Mish and started the remote.

Mish yanked the visor on, turned on the saber, and used the Force to find the remote.

"It circling more and will start to fire soon," Tenel Ka said. She backed up and leaned against a tree. Mish took a deep breath and deflected the first shot. He rounded and missed the next one. Mish sighed and blocked the next volley with ease.

After ten minutes Mish was tiered and sweaty. Tenel Ka plucked the remote out of the air and turned it off. She set it down and walked toward Mish.

"Good. You fight well."

"Thanks. But good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living is another."

"If you are not to tiered we could spar."

"No. I ok. Let go."

Tenel Ka nodded and pulled her lightsaber off her belt. She ignited it, and the brought it to bear in front of her. Mish did the same and stepped closer to Tenel Ka.

Mish took the first blow. He slowly swung the lightsaber down toward Tenel legs. She brought her weapon down to block and struck back. She fired a volley of shots at Mish and he deflected everyone.

Soon they were both soaked with sweat.

Mish took a daring move and brought his saber over his head.

Tenel Ka, sensing the coming attack, brought her own weapon up and blocked the strike above her head.

Mish moved in closer to Tenel Ka. They were deadlocked, but neither opponent was backing down. He moved in even closer and put an arm around Tenel Ka. He dropped his weapon to his side and kissed Tenel Ka deeply.

Tenel Ka dropped her saber and wrapped her arms around Mish, accepting the kiss.


Jacen saw the whole thing from his hiding spot. He wasn expecting Mish to kiss her.

Jacen stood up and stormed into the clearing. He pulled her lightsaber from his belt and ignited it. He yanked Mish away from Tenel Ka and held the tip of his saber at his throat.

"Jacen?! What are you doing?!" Tenel Ka screamed. She put her hand on his shoulder and tried to pull him away.

Jacen turned on Tenel Ka and used the Force to throw her back. She slammed into a tree and slumped down.

<Luke. Help me. Jacen gone nuts. Hurry.> she cried through the Force.

Jacen turned back to Mish. "I e had enough of you." Not wanting to stopp a level lower, he brought the lightsaber around Mish side, and cut through his leg.

The last thing Tenel Ka heard was Mish screaming, and Jacen, running away.


When Tenel Ka came to she found Luke and his wife busily attending to Mish. She sat up on the bed. And watched them silently. She was thinking. Thinking about what has just happened.

Mish and Tenel Ka were sparing. Mish pulled her in close and kissed her deeply. At that point Jacen came charging across the clearing and pulled Mish away. The last thing she remembered was Mish screaming and Jacen running.

She was brought out of her thought by a hand on her shoulder. It was Jaina Solo, Jacen twin sister, returned from Coruscant.

"Mind if I sit?" Jaina asked.

"Go ahead."

Jaina plopped down on the bed and put and arm around Tenel Ka shoulders.

"What happened?" she asked.

"I was sparring with Mish. We were both deadlocked and her kissed me. Jacen saw it and went ballistic. He threw me up against a tree and cut Mish leg off."

"Where he go?"

"I don know. He took the Rock Dragon and left."

Jaina nodded. "You ok?"

"I hurt. Both inside and out. It my fault."

Jaina looked at her friend. "How so?"

"If I hadn taken Mish out to spar. If I hadn accepted the kiss, Jacen might still not have flipped out."

"You don know that. He contacted me after lunch and he seemed out of it. It was scary. He coulda gone while I was talking to him."

"I know, but still..."

"No but I know my brother. Give him time to cool off, and he l be back, tail between his legs."

"I hope so."


Jacen looked out the viewports of the Rock Dragon, at hyperspace. He plotted a course deep into the outer rim, where no one would find him.

"He let the Dark side of the Force into him. It was part of him now. He needed a new Master. One that would like a strong ally. He find that person, soon.
