The ScallyWags Pirate Show
The History
"The ScallyWags" is a comedy troop that performs pirate shows, ad-lib shows, street performing , educational programs and combat shows at renaissance festivals, scouting events, schools, private partys and more. After spending countless years as playtrons the group started performing in 1998 and was originally called "The Scallywags and the Pirate Wench". All but one of our members still perform, guess which one. We are one of the longest running "Pirate Comedy Shows" in the U.S. which is something to say with the onslaught of shows that came up after "The Pirates of the Carribean " craze. The group also runs a leather goods shop at the festival called " Little Beard Leather" that they started in 95'. The ScallyWags also established the all pirate re-enactors guild "The Freebooters of the Flatlands" in 98'. The Freebooters members helped The ScallyWags perform at many faires, dinner partys and the such. In 2001 alot of requests started coming in for the group so we took on aditional members to pick up more shows. We now have multiple shows ranging from kids shows to all adult pub shows we perform . The group performs in multiple states and has been reconised as one of the top comedy troupes around.
