SCENE 1-Jessie and James town house
TITLE: DINNER
(Jessie is heading upstairs toward the bathroom. James is sitting at the kitchen table playing a game of war with his adopted daughter, Miya)
JESSIE: (as she walks up) James, I taking a shower; make dinner. (Jessie disappears into the bathroom leaving James with Miya.)
JAMES: (sighs and calls upstairs) Your cooking dinner tomorrow night.
JESSIE: (singing loudly) I?m the gorgeous one?
MIYA: (gives a small laugh)
JAMES: (looks to Miya) What are you laughing at?
MIYA: Nothing!
JAMES: Yeah, right! (puts his cards down) Anyway, lets call it draw, I?ve got dinner to make.
MIYA: Ok! (stands and puts the cards away) What are you going to make?
JAMES: (smiles) Jessie?s favorite, fried rice.
MIYA: Yummy, you make the best fried rice, make lots for me ok, I?ll be upstairs watching TV.
JAMES: Yes ma?am! (Anna goes upstairs into her room. Jessie and Anna share the master bedroom. James prepares to make dinner and hums a little hum.)
(Jessie enters from the bathroom in her pink bathrobe and hair wrapped in a towel and into the bedroom, where Miya is.)
MIYA: Did you have a nice shower, Mamma Jessie?
JESSIE: (sits down by Miya) Yes, I did! By the way I forgot to ask you how your day at school was?
MIYA: It was the usual?
JESSIE: Dull and boring?
Miya: Yup! Well it least it?s the weekend I get to spend it with my two best friends.
JESSIE: (hugs Miya) Aww?(gets up) Well, I?m going downstairs to check on James.
MIYA: All right!
(Jessie walks out of the room and goes downstairs to the kitchen.)
JAMES: (looks back) Hi, Jessie! Feel better?
JESSIE: Much, now I?m all refreshed. (Walks over and looks over James? shoulder and smells the food cooking.) Smells, great. (She looks at him) When will it be ready?
JAMES: Uh, soon!
JESSIE: Good, well I shall return; I?m going back upstairs to get dressed.
JAMES: (in his mind) It?s really not a problem..(to Jessie) Bring Miya down with you, ok?
JESSIE: (walking up the stairs) Sure!
(Soon Miya and Jessie return, they both sit at the table and wait for James to bring the rice.)
JAMES: I?m glad it?s the weekend aren?t you?
JAMES: Yeah, this weekend will be family weekend?(looks to Miya) Your NOT going to stay with your friends this weekend, Miya.
MIYA: Daddy James, I wasn?t planning, too. I told Jessie that I wasn?t going anywhere.
JAMES: Oh! (James begins to dish up fried rice, and brings over a bowl and places it in front of Miya.)
MIYA: (smelling it) Smells great, James.
JAMES: It?s taste good, too! (Goes back into the kitchen and dishes up two more bowls and brings them to the table.)
JESSIE: Thanks, James!
JAMES: Your welcome. (Goes back and turns off the stove, and then comes and sits down in the empty seat. Now everyone is eating.)
JESSIE: (swallows and then looks to James) So, James what are we going to do tomorrow?
JAMES: (shrugs his shoulders) I don?t know. The Mall? A Movie? Anything that?s has to do with getting out of this house.
MIYA: (looks to Jessie) Yeah, the mall; come on Jessie, please?
JESSIE: James, we can spend some time at the arcade, it?s been awhile.
JAMES: (ponders for a moment) Hmm, well you certainly do love beating at all the fighting games.
JESSIE: Great! (stands up) The mall it is! (finishes up her last few bites) I?m done.
MIYa: Hooray! (Clear her plate) I?m finished too!
JAMES: One of you has dishes, since I cooked.
JESSIE: Miya!
MIYA: Jessie!
JESSIE: I ?ll play you rock, paper, sissors, loser cleans up the kitchen.
MIYA: Deal!
(Miya and Jessie have a duel, and Miya loses and cleans up the kitchen as Jessie and James go into the living room and watch TV.)

MIYA: Pokemon will be back after this
JESSIE: Hey, hey Pokemon is back

SCENE TWO-Jessie, James and Miya in the car heading for the mall.
TITLE: MAD ABOUT YOU
(Jessie and James are riding in the front seat and Anna is sitting in the back player her Game Boy. They having a pleasant converstation.)
JESSIE: (saying it with a smile) James, your mad.
JAMES: Only about you?(realizing about what he says, proceeded to turn pink.)
MIYA: (stops playing for a second) Huh?
JESSIE: (looks into the re-view mirror) What?
MIYA: Nothing at all! (thinks to herself) James, has been acting strange lately come to think of it so has Jessie, hmm.Ah, I bet the big moment is almost here.
JESSIE: (gives Miya a strange look) Ok, sure! (back to James) Well duh, James; what man isn?t mad about me?
JAMES: Sane ones.
JESIE: (rasing her eyebrows and speaks coyly) Are you saying that I?m not beautiful?
JAMES: (nervously) Of course you?re beautiful.(smiles) We?re the most attractive pair to grace the planet.
MIYA: (sighs)
JESSIE: (mutters) Well, it least this half is.
(They arrive at the mall, Jessie parks the jeep and they walk towards the mall mainly heading for the arcade. Jessie speeds ahead)
JESSIE: (happily) Come on, James! Miya!
(Miya and James run after her.)

SCENE: Miya is playing a crane machine trying to win some more Pokemon dolls and Jessie and James are play the Poke?people Fighting game.
MIYA: (grabbing a small beanie Arbok) Yes, I?ve got you Arbok. (The crane drops the Arbok doll and Anna pulls it out of the hole.) Great, I have now got all of Jessie and James? Pokemon: Weezing, Victreebel, Meowth, Lickitung and now Arbok.
(Jessie is beating James at the game very badly.)
JESSIE: Do you give up James?
JAMES: I gave after the first ten consecutive wins...(looks over to Miya) It?s looks like Miya is getting loaded on Pokemon beanies.
JESSIE: That?s nice.She?s skilled at that kind of game, unlike you
JAMES: (stops playing) I?m done, Jessie; you win...(walks away towards Miya) I?m going to watch our daughter get those prizes.
JESSIE: Fine! Your no fun, James...(Jessie stops playing and follows him) Hey, Miya?
MIYA: (looks at Jessie) Yes, Jessie?
JESSIE: (picks up the Arbok doll) Oh, Arbok doll; it?s so cute....(cuddles it) So cute...
MIYA & JAMES: (with sweatdrops) Right!
JAMES: Say, why don?t we go get something to eat in the food center?
MIYA: Sounds good to me...(Miya picks up her other dolls and they all walk out of the arcade.)
JAMES: Where to for lunch?
MIYA: Something close by?
(Jessie drove to the nearest restaurant, and they all had lunch.)
JESSIE: So back to the arcade after this, James?
JAMES: Actually, I think I?m going to go on my own for awhile; you and Miya can spend some mother, daughter time together.
MIYA: (looking up at James) But James?.
JAMES: I?ll meet up with you both later?
JESSIE: (trying to look casual, but disappointed inside) Whatever.
JAMES: (sighed) Well, could you drop me off at the mall?
JESSIE: (standing up) Sure, then I think I?ll head to the library.
MIYA: (kinda surprised) The library, you rarely go to the library, Mamma Jessie; why do you want to go their all of sudden?
JESSIE: I would like to go read a few magazines if that?s ok with you.
MIYA: Yeah, it is?
JAMES: (to himself) I knew it, she doesn?t like me; she?s going to go look for intellectual guys, that?s why she doesn?t like me; I?m not smart enough.

MIYA: Don?t go away Pokemon will be back in a minute
JESSIE: Prepare for trouble, Pokemon is back

SCENE: Jessie and Miya are dropping James off at the mall.
JAMES: (As Jessie and Miya drive off) Bye Jessie! Bye Miya!
(James entered the mall, unaware that Jessie had parked a little ways up the street and hurried in the mall after him, dragging Miya along with her.)
MIYA: (being pulled by Jessie) Jessie, what?s the matter?
JESSIE: Hush my daughter, mother has something she needs to do.
(Jessie wanted to watch what James did when she wasn?t with him. James makes his way into the book store, and up to the front counter. Jessie and Miya followed him, Jessie pretened to be enogrossed in a book ?101 Ways to Cook Your Vegeatbles? and Miya buried her nose in Sonic The Hedgehog comic?)
JAMES: (he approaches the counter.)
CLERK: May I help you?
JAMES: Yes! You see, I?ve got this friend, and he wants to impress this girl who likes intellectual guys, so I thought I could get him a book to him an intellectual person.
CLERK: (smiles politely) Well, if you really like this girl, you should just be yourself. You?re handsome enough boy.
JAMES: Are you addressing me?
CLERK: Now, if your not going to buy anything, please leave.
(James walks sadly away. Jessie is in shock that James was trying to impress someone, but who? Miya, kinda had an idea.)
JESSIE: Hmm?*Takes Miya buy the arm* Come on?

SCENE: James walks over to the ice cream parlor in the mall and buys a small chocolate shake, walks over to the tables and sits down dejectedly to drink it. Miya and Jessie watch him form a distance.
JESSIE: (to herself) ?He look so lonely??(smiles) And he?s awfully cute when he?s lonely. (Jessie gasped) ?Did I just say he was cute? Could it be, am I falling for him? (Jessie shook her head) ?We?re suppose to have professional boundaries??
(Jessie purposefully walks towards James with Miya, and they sat in the two empty chairs.)
JESSIE: Hi stranger?(Jessie gives a smile)
MIYA: Hello, daddy James!
JAMES: Jessie! Miya! I thought you both were going to the library?
JESSIE: (Jessie shrugs) I guess we decided not to go?(gestures to James? milkshake) Care to share that?
JAMES: (smiles and hands it to Jessie) Jessie, I know your lying..(looks to Miya) Why didn?t you go to the library, Miya; tell me the trurth.
MIYA: Umm?Well you see?(Jessie quickly slap Miya?s mouth shut.)
JESSIE: (blushes) What is this 20 questions?
JAMES: (sweatdrop) Uhh..I only asked one, the first was more of a statement than a question.
JESSIE: (mutters) Who says you?re not intelluectiaual?(looks at Miya and gives her a look and then releases her.)
MIYA: (whinks a Jessie and to herself) Oh, you don?t want to tell fine.
JAMES: (sharply) What?
JESSIE: (slaps her forehead) Sorry, James, gotta go?I uh, forgot an important arrangement at the uhh?(trails off) Take care of Miya for awhile.
JAMES: (stands up) Jessie, wait! (James looks at the milkshake, there was lipstick on the straw.)
MIYA: (to herself) Poor Jessie, she just can?t tell James what she truly feels.
JAMES: (quietly) Jessie!
MIYA: (looks at James and to herself) And James he feels the same way about Jessie, but to afraid to admit the truth.

SETTING: Jessie and James? townhome
SCENE: James and Miya just get off the bus and inside the house.
MIYA: (pretending she has no idea on what?s going on) James, why do you look so down?
JAMES: (opening the door, both walk in) Jessie, hates me; didn?t you see her walk out of the caf� and out of my life.
MIYA: Oh Daddy James, don?t be silly; she doesn?t hate you?
JESSIE: (comes from down stairs entering the kitchen) Not at all..so stop being so Mr. Drama.
JAMES: (walking upstairs) I?ll be in my?(going into his bedroom.) I?ll cook dinner in a little while.
JESSIE: James, I?(James hurries up to his room.)
JAMES: (sits and his bed depressed) ?Maybe I should tell her I like her? (James has some flashbacks of past days of him and Jessie together.) ?She has saved my life on numerous occasions?.?I don?t like her???I think I might love her??(James comes out and walks downstairs to the kitchen, thinking) ?What should I cook for her?? (James hears something from outside on the patio, he walked outside and looked. Jessie had cooked dinner and was lying it on the table, with Miya helping her.) Miya? Jessie? What?s all this?
JESSIE: (looks at Miya) Thanks for your help darling?go on upstairs now and stay there. Arbok and the other Pokemon will be staying up there with you.
MIYA: Ok?(walks by James, turns to him before she enters the house) Good luck, daddy James?
JAMES: (looks at Miya kinda confused) Ok?Thanks hon.
(Miya disappears into the house and heads upstairs.)
JESSIE: (looks at James) Well, shall we eat?
JAMES: What about Miya?
JESSIE:I brought her McDonalds and rented her some Sailor Moon S DVD?s, she?ll be occupied all night. So it?s just you and me. Weezing and Victreebel are up there with her too, you don?t mind do you?
JAMES: Not at all?(James goes and pulls out a chair for Jessie, she sits down as James goes the other chair and sits down. And then both start to eat in silence.) The arcade was fun, huh? (trying to break the air of tension.)
JESSIE: Don?t make me laugh James, you were dying to get out of there. Tell how fun that was?
JAMES: (Blushes) I guess I only had fun because I was there with Miya and?you!
JESSIE: (Heart melts, James was always sweet when he wanted to be.) James, you?ve become quiet a gentlemen.
JAMES: (Shrugs) Well, I guess we?ve both grown over the past 2 years since, we?ve become Miya foster parents and a family.
JESSIE: Guess so, Miya is a great kid.
JAMES: We couldn?t ask for anyone different, she?s the perfect one for us.
JESSIE: I won?t argue with you their.
(They both finish up there dinner, go inside and watch Titanic.)
JESSIE: (looks at James who is crying) James, why are you crying; you?ve cry everytime we watched this move, and this is only the third time.
JAMES: It?s just so said?
JESSIE: (sighs) Your such and idiot?
JAMES: Well, I?m very sensitive?(goes upstairs to check on Miya) I?m going go check on our daughter and then I am going to bed.
JESSIE: (sighs and mutters) So much for a romantic dinner. (Jessie cleans up the dishes and kitchen.) I don?t like him, I don?t like him?(waves her finger in the air.) I think I might love him. (Jessie wasn?t happy and sighed.) I think I?ll be moving out tomorrow. I can?t stand being around James anymore. Getting involved with him would be a big mistake, and Miya?I?don?t even know what do with my daughter?do I leave her with her dad or take her with me?(sits on the couch) Things may be less complicated that way.)
JAMES: (was listening to her from the stairs) You?re leaving>
JESSIE: (doesn?t even look at him) Yes, I?ll be gone in the morning.
JAMES: What about our daughter?
MIYA: (was listening from the mid-point on the stairs.) Mamma Jessie is leaving?(Miya goes back upstairs to the room and lies back down with the Pokemon, pretending she didn?t hear anything.)

SETTING: James? room
SCENE: James is sitting cross legged on his bed.
JAMES: (upset and miserable) ?Why is she leaving?? ?I didn?t say anything wrong did I?? ?Is she taking Miya?? ?Will she miss me??

SETTING: Living Room
SCENE: Jessie is sitting on the couch, eating ice cream and looking very miserable.
JESSIE: (Sadly) James, what?s wrong with me? Why can?t I just come out with the truth? Why?
(James enters the room)
JAMES: Hi Jes!
JESSIE: (places the bowl on the coffee table and stands up) James, I don?t really want to go but?
JAMES: (takes her hands) Jessie, your not just my partner or my best friend. What I am saying is that I really like you.
JESSIE: Well, I like you too James! But I don?t think we should be living together?
JAMES: But Jessie, we?re best friends; you can?t leave?and Miya?
JESSIE: And you?re my best friend too, I?ve thought about and I have decide to leave Miya here with you. Have ever become more then best friends?
JAMES: (sighs) No, I guess not
JESSIE: (trying to find words, instead she leans over and kisses James softly on the lips.)
JAMES: (Stunned) What did that mean?
JESSIE: (smiles) James, I know you?re a wimp, and a little clumsy and way to dramatic?
JAMES: (nodding) Go on?
JESSIE: A good father to Miya and the main thing is I love you.
JAMES:(Envelops Jessie in hug) Jessie! I love you too.
MIYA: (comes downstairs) Does this mean your not leaving Jessie?
JESSIE: (looks over to Miya) Of course not, I?m staying right her.
JAMES: Hey, come on over here, and let?s have a group hug.
MIYA: (cries happily) I?m so happy?Mommy! Daddy! (Miya runs over and joins them in big group hug.)
