Cages:
Picking a cage should be fairly easy if you know what you're looking for.  The bigger the cage the better, this doesn't mean the cage has to be really expensive though.  Many companies have quality cages at low prices.

Suggestion-Longer rather than taller cage since a bird flys horizontal and not vertical.  Bird seem to prefer square/rectangel cages instead of the round cages.  They feel more comfortable and are not as weary as when in a round cage.

Bar Spacing-You want to make sure your bird cannot get its head caught in the bars.  For cockatiels and smaller Id recommend no bigger than 1/2"
