Offering our birds the best source of nutrition is one of our duties as pet owners. They rely on us to do what is best for them and of course offer the best. I hate the thought of seeing my fids eating the same thing all day everyday for the rest of their lives. I sure wouldnt like to and probably would hate to see the same thing on my plate day after day. There are many products available out there and instead of trying to decide which to pick over another I try combining them. I now offer my fids a seed, pellet, dried fruit mix made by a local shop here in Southern CA. They offer a great variety of seeds, two different kinds of pellets, fruit medley and they have the best quality Ive seen anywhere, plus my birds just love it. Of course this is not only what they are fed. I also have to put in my cooking time (lol yes theres cooking involved but its not hard promise.) I like giving them a large variety of cooked foods which include birdie bread, grains, bean & rice mix, beak appetit, crazy corn, birdie pizza, birdie pie, pastas, baked potato, yams and egg foods. When I dont feel like cooking that day they get steamed veggies, sprouts, wheat grass and fresh veggies or fruit. I simply rinse them with water and apple cider vinegar and serve. I dont offer all the foods at once. I mix it up so they have something new to explore each day. Birds love treats and mine are no exception they get nutriberries, treat stix, peanut butter balls, millet, fruitcicles, nuts, popcorn and homemade honey treats. I usually give them a treat once every other day again switching it around so they wont get tired of the same thing. |
