courtyard. A high domed glass ceiling lets in the sun shine in
through with colorful brilliance. Brother Kadfail lies here
dead with his throat slit open.
Nobunaga walks in with a smile, which quickly dwindles as he looks around.
Bordelaise reaches out for Nobunagas hand
Bordelaise says 'Times are bad'
Bordelaise says 'Kadfail is dead'
Bordelaise says 'And so are others in the other guilds'
Nobunaga takes Bordelaise's hand into his own.
Nobunaga asks 'Who did this?'
Bordelaise says 'Trolls'
Bordelaise says 'But they cant have been alone'
Bordelaise moves her Weathered Book to her right hand
Bordelaise says 'This booklet has been found'
Nobunaga asks 'What does it say?'

At the site of a battle in the deeper catacombs
You struggle to keep your footing on the floor here.
This section of the tunnel has got a great lean to the
east, caused you assume by magical means.
Domant thunders from out of nowhere , the massive beast snorting fire at you.
You blink your eyes.
Domant gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."
Bordelaise says 'Uh oh'
Domant asks 'You are a tiny thing, aren't you?'
Bordelaise says 'Im just sitting here trying not to get hurt'>
Bordelaise says 'I didnt do no wrong'
You shuffle your feet uneasily.
Bordelaise says 'There is enough blood and killing as it is'
Bordelaise says 'Heads cut off and all'
Domant says 'I'll have to watch you, and see what there is about you. little one'

littered about. Everything of value has been stolen. Mrs. Tibbs
body lies on the ground. Her throat slit.
You peer at everything.
You give out a depressed "Oh.."

You guild shout 'Noooooo!'
Herman Guildmaster Guild Shouts'What is the matter?'

Helcamenal floats in from the west the mists bronze hue shining dimly.
Helcamenal lets out a deep sigh.
Bordelaise searches through the broken chairs and tables on the floor

Herman says 'I think this is the work of the trolls.'
Herman ponders on the problem for a moment.
Domant says 'I won't fail to kill you, if you don't watch your lippy talk, monk.'
Herman says 'I am sure of that.'
Bordelaise looks from Domant to Herman, her whole expression full of doubt and fear
Herman says 'However, we have a child tae find.'
Herman ponders on the problem for a moment.

Domant says 'Likely she's in a trolls stew pot, or worse'
Herman turns to Bordelaise.
Herman says 'Do nae listen tae him.'
Herman asks 'Where do ye think she would go?'

Bordelaise says 'She was here so she would be kept away from all this'
Domant says 'Or a scrap of her clothes'

Bordelaise looks up at the dark fighter, her eyes full of hate
You see Herman stand between Bordelaise and Domant.

Domant says 'People should take responsiblity for themselves, not foster them off onto others.'
A rumbling female voice Guild Shouts 'There is no sign of the child in the guild, I fear the attackers may have taken her <Myste>'
Bordelaise gets to her feet...her face suddenly turning into determination
Herman says 'Come, let us find her.'
Domant says 'Maybe you'd have your child, instead of a tombstone'
Bordelaise says 'She is alive'
Herman nods towards you.

Morning of day 23 of Weeping Skies of the year 184
Garden of Order
Great attention to detail has been taken with this garden. Each
plant has been set in a specific place with regard to color and
growing height. Five tall standing stones form a perimeter around
the orderly garden.
Bordelaise moves close to Nobunaga, searching for a hug
Nobunaga gives you a hug.

Outside the fighter's guild, all along Brent Street, on the docks...every known form of troll was there, ready to tear the limbs off of Moorgate's defenders...many a brave man was either killed or badly wounded by the trolls...Celowyn, Interscene, Vandence, Ariosh, Adema, Nightshadow, all could be seen being dealt near fatal blows...
Torn Families - Part V
Hours turned into days, days into weeks, and weeks into months, but there was no sign of little Ayumi. An expedition was called. Many a brave man and woman ventured into the troll caves lead by Nobunaga. Hordes of trolls lost their lives, but the daughter of Bordelaise and Nobunaga was nowhere to be found...
The mother of the child grew more and more unsure of herself, of the world around her. Without her daughter she was but a shadow of who she had been. Was she dead or alive? Was she safe or living a nightmare in the caves of the trolls? Was their still hope or had she forever been lost?
In a desperate attempt to find answers, any answers, Fjorgynn was approached. Approached with a request. Leoni could answer her questions, and Fjorgynn could set up a meeting with Leoni...

Day 5 of Hallow Month of the year 184
You hear a thunderclap and watch in awe as a Purple cloud of smoke appears!
Bordelaise is then drawn into the center of the smoke!
You find yourself whisked through space... You appear in...
The Dark Crypt.
A dark brooding room, cloaked in shadows. Coffins litter the floor,
some with their lids hanging open, bones spilling out as if even
in death, they tried to escape this terrible place.
Bloodstains, fresh and old, spatter the floor around you.

Sodagayo ponders on the problem for a moment.
Shara nods.
Bordelaise seems to be looking for a way out, sensing that she does not quite belong in these halls
Bordelaise says 'I should...'
Shara beams a smile at you.
Shara stands up
Bordelaise says 'Id want to help with whatever I can when the time comes...I cant just sit and wait'
Leoni nods towards you.
Bordelaise says 'Im not that strong, but...'
Bordelaise looks down
Sodagayo says 'Bordelaise'
Sodagayo gazes deeply into your eyes, a slight smile playing
on his lips.
Bordelaise looks up at Sodagayo
Sodagayo says 'ye are one of the strongest sprites, women, monks, or ex GMs I have ever met.'
You see Bordelaise smile a hesitant smile
Sodagayo beams a smile at you.
Bordelaise says 'There is little of that strength left...without my daughter I am....'
Bordelaise's last words disappear in a mumble
Shara says 'Are you sure,Bordelaise? Some show their real strength only when some of their beloved are in danger'
You begin to feel suddenly warmer despite no change in the weather.
Leoni gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."
Shara says 'The god of fire again...'
Bordelaise says 'Oh, I dont know...I feel like all I knew has vanished...disappeared...'
Bordelaise asks 'Could he have anything to do with the trolls?'
Shara ponders on the problem for a moment.
Bordelaise says 'His first appearance in these lands...'
Leoni says 'That God? methinks not'
Bordelaise says 'Oh'
Shara says 'Maybe....he is a stranger to our plane...might be the reason why nearly everything is stolen....so he gets to know all'
Saffina says 'Ice trolls have invaded however.. would he use them?'
Shara gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."
Shara says 'True'
Shara says 'I do not think he would...detesting water and ice'
Shara says 'I do know that he used the volcano to the east of moorgate to get to our plane....he drew upon its powers'
Leoni nods at Shara.
Leoni says 'He will not trespass on my domain'
Shara gives a quick grin.
Leoni says 'You have my permission to leave if you so wish'
Leoni says 'I hold none against their will'
Bordelaise nods slowly
Bordelaise says 'I think it may be best...'
Bordelaise bows in thanks, leaving a little lighter at heart than she arrived...
Torn Families - Part VII
The small sprite had not been herself since the day she found Mrs. Tibbs with her throat slit by trolls in the Red Rose Caf�. Her one year old daughter, Ayumi, had been there. It was now more than a year she had been gone, and her third birthday was getting near...the day she was to be given to Leoni, brought to her halls as one step in learning with an open mind. The sprite did not dare think what would happen if she broke her end of the deal...
The sprite had had dreams, even when she was awake, and there was one thing that had kept coming back. One thing? One word rather. It had taken some time before she had been able to put it together. Disera. That was the word whispered in her ear over and over. She did not know what it meant until she had told Brother Fitio about it. Disera was the land he came from, a land south of Cosrin, straight over the ocean...
There had been expeditions. The troll caves had been searched many times by the best trackers in the lands. But her daughter was nowhere. She had talked to her husband about the words in her head, and as time grew shorter and worries higher, they had decided to go there. Maybe it was someone leading her on the right track.
A ship was prepared. The Innamorata, fastest ship ever to have been seen in the land where the sun always shines. Nobunaga was to go with her, but with Guild Master Herman missing he had to stay behind. Old Brother Laroon had kindly offered his help on the journey, and the small sprite was happy she did not have to go to this unknown place by herself.
Early on the morning of day 17 of First Growth 186 the Innamorata set out with Bordelaise and Laroon on it among a crew of sprites. Straight south, unto unknown waters...
Torn Families - Part VIII
South they sailed. Straight south, never turning from their course. Had they turned slightly west, whirlpools would have pulled The Innamorata and its passengers into the deep of the sea. Had they gone only a little out of their way to the east, giant reefs would have torn the small vessel into pieces. No, south, and further south, until the skies turned yellow. Fitio had told the small sprite that would happen once they reached The Gahhri Islands. Only half a day to go and they would reach Disera...
Another half a day passed, the vessel still sailing south, and before Bordelaise or Laroon could figure out how, the ship had landed on the south shore of Disera...
There it was, right before their eyes. The walls of the city of Yalanio, capital of the island queendom. The sprite and the elf left their ship and set foot toward the huge gates, determined to find what they came for...
Torn Families - Part IX
...two months had passed until finally, on the evening of Day 26 of Cherrin in the year 186, the sails of The Innamorata once again were spotted by the citizens of Moorgate. Proudly it sailed into the harbor, a multitude of sprite sailors gathered at the fore, waving their arms toward the awaiting crowd. As the ship halted outside the docks and smaller boats were being prepared to bring cargo, crew and passengers into the docks, a leopard, black as a starless night, leapt over the railing and began swimming toward town. Mounted on the leopard was a small sprite...and her young daughter.
Torn Families - Part X: Retelling of the expedition to Disera
Having arrived in the city of Yalanio the little sprite and the tall aged elf set out to find directions for the troll lairs Fitio had spoken of. Knowing the daughter of Bordelaise and Nobunaga had disappeared during the troll invasions, this was where they expected to find her.
The troll lairs were found. Dark and damp they were, and with hostility hanging in the air. The small sprite was happy she had accepted Laroons offer of going with her. Cautiously they moved further into the caves, not hearing a sound or seeing a single shadow move...until...
...Two huge trolls blocked their way. The trolls were larger than the biggest elder ever seen in the Darkwell Woods. The sprite took a step back, only to find two more trolls, just as huge, standing behind them with clubs in their hands ready to strike. The battle raged for a long time, Bordelaise and Laroon trying to outsmart their opposition with fast movement and unexpected strikes and kicks. Exhausted after the long fight, the sprite failed to dodge the blow from one of the trolls. Its club came down and hit her on the shoulder. The sprite fell to the ground, clutching her arm, realizing she would not be able to get out of the way as the troll once again raised its club, ready to finish her off. The sprite closed her eyes, praying to her gods for the safety of her daughter, and prepared to die...
...when the sprite opened her eyes again, that fatal blow never landing on her, brother Laroon was standing over her, his arm outstretched and a smile on his lips. Around her lay four dead trolls.
Making sure there was nobody else around the two sat down to tend to their wounds when a noice was heard behind them:
'I wouldn go ferther into them ceverns there if I was ye'
Bordelaise and Laroon turned around, surprised at having been snuck up on like that. Behind them on a large rock a small elf was sitting, dangling his legs, smiling casually. The elf hopped down from the rock and approached them with a hand stretched out in greeting.
'I em Jopex', the elf said, 'Mapmeker of Oakenberg. I ave been deeper in them ceverns and what you will find in there is nae semthing I would want to recomen'
The elf continued telling tales of what could be found down there, still smiling as broad as ever no matter the horrors he spoke of. He told them more of who he was, and in the end convinced the two to come with him instead of venturing further into the caves. If they were to return there, they would need to bring an army...
Jopex took Laroon and Bordelaise on a tour of Disera, showing them every corner of the island. When he finally stopped talking after many days the two travellers from Moorgate managed to tell him the reason they were there...to find a daughter.
The map maker seemed to think for a moment, then bent down toward Bordelaise and said:
'I think I ave knowlige of the wherebouts of your deughter, little sprite'
Bordelaise and Laroon were led through the streets of Yalanio until finally ending up outside a large house. A large house? No, it was a mansion. It was the size of the fighters guild back home, and it looked very expensive. The three of them walked up to the front door. Before they were able to knock it was opened and a servant looked at them sternly, yet politely. After the map maker had explained their business the group was lead into a large hall to wait for the owner of the house.
He appeared. An elf dressed in silks and gold, and with a rather imposing figure walked up to the three and shook their hands.
'I am Kananga', he said, 'and I hear you are looking for a daughter'
The sprite nodded, unable to find the words to speak. Kananga looked her over, as if searching for something. Then he burst out into laughter and started telling about what had ocurred:
'Yes, I have your daughter. I found her when in Moorgate some time ago. I was there to purchase cotton for my tailors and ventured over to the Red Rose Cafe for something to eat, mighty fine tavern that I must say. As I neared the tavern I saw a band of trolls leave running and hurried into the cafe. There on the floor she was sitting, holding the hand of the lifeless landlady in her tiny ones. I thought it was the daughter of the landlady so I brought her with me and have raised her here ever since'
Kananga stopped his tale and made a gesture with his hand toward a servant waiting by the wall. Moments later a young girl walked into the room, spotted her mother in the group and rushed toward her. The sprite cried like she had never cried before. Her family was whole again...
