Jemima is the kitten you can always find staring up at the Jellicle Moon. She has a very special connection with it and seems to treasure it more than the other queens. She is the first to except Grizzabella along with Victoria, and in the end helps give her the strength to confront the tribe. All throughout the play she is found with her friends Etcetera, Rumpleteazer, Victoria, and Electra. She is also a very large fan of the Rum Tum Tugger but she is not found around him to often. During the moments of Happiness she sings a very beautiful solo telling about how the other cats should treasure their memories. Later near the end of the play Jemima sings to announce that the sun is rising and it is time to make the Jellicle choice. Then during the final number of Memory Jemima sings to Grizzabella after she falls, which ends up giving her power to continure. Jemima Has to be my favorite in the musical because even though she does not have a large part in the play she is a very important part. I believe she represents the idealism in the world that one day everyone would be excepted no matter what their past my be. |
