O-Town - Debut CD
1. Liquid Dreams
Now, what can I say about "Liquid Dreams?  I've heard this song so much, I have all the words memorized!  Well, considering it's their first hit, they harmonized really well.  Erik, Ashley and Jacob's solos were done really great.  Granted the lyrics could have been open to more realistic "womanly features," this was an all in all good song.

2.
Every Six Seconds
I really like the beat to this song.  The lyrics sound like typical "boy band" material, but they make up for it with killer vocals and mathematical skills (Every 6 seconds...10 times a minute...600 times an hour)  I counted, and it actually added up correct.  Kudos to O-Town!

3.
Girl
Since I am a die hard O-Town lover, I didn't think they would have a bad song on their album.  Turns out I was wrong.  This song is truly PATHETIC.  Even the title can defend it's self, overuse of the word "girl." Easily gets annoying, and eventually stuck in your head.  Don't waste your time listening to it.

4.
Sexiest Woman Alive
When seeing the title, I automaticlly assumed I would hate the song.  And after hearing "Liquid Dreams" and "Girl," I thought it would be even worse when it comes to comparing women.  But I don't hate it.  Very Much Dislike is a better term.  The lyrics are catchy, but other then that, the song dosen't go anywhere.

5.
Love Should Be A Crime
At first, I really didn't like this song.  But now I'm thinking, "Who couldn't?"  I love the background beat and how it totally loses the "boy band" sense.  And with Ashley's smooth "It happens all the tiiiime!" it literally makes me go weak at the knees.  The guys show what exxcellent harmonizers they are in this song, and they all sound so kick butt together.  Props to O-Town!

6.
Shy Girl
After hearing "Girl," I thought "Shy Girl" would be the same.  But I really liked this song.  It makes the average girl wonder if guys really do notice the shy ones.  The guys come together great at the chorus, and Ashley and Erik's verse at the end sounds awesome.  Great song, one of my faves!

7.
All or Nothing
If I may borrow the ideas from Nadya's "Oh-God-Town" site, whenever I hear this song, I get the same feeling I get when I watch "Titanic" on Valentine's Day.  Very bitter sweet.  And you (the listener) are reminded of the whole Ashley/Shelli blowup, and you just begin to fell a bit down.  The music is great, very original, and the guys sound great together (espicilly Dan).  I can't think of anything more to say without totally copying Nadya.

8.
Sensitive
I never really liked this song.  There was just something about it that almost forced me to skip it.  Don't get me wrong, the guys sound great (like they always do) and the music was all right.  I was just never really drawn to it.  I'm sure the average teeny bopper would argue different, but I'm not in the mood.

9.
The Painter
I always liked this song.  It was so different then any of the other songs you hear boy vocal groups sing.  And the guys do a great job singing it.  It makes the average girl feel pretty and special.  Considering the guys were probably thing of their (ex)girlfriends when they were recording it.

10.
Take Me Under
Wow!  Jacob wrote a totally kick butt song, and the rest of the guys really bring it together.  The whol "mixing styles" was a really good way to go for this song, and the fast style verse near the end was a really good way to finish off the song.  Granted, when you first hear the "O-Town...I want you to close your eyes...and fall into a deep transe..." you just want to laugh and snicker at the thought of such cheesieness, it's an all around song.  Kudos, Jakey boy!

11.
All for Love
There will be no review for this song, since I find it incredibly annoying and refuse to listen to it.

12.
Baby I Would
Awwww!  This has to be the sweetest song I've ever heard!  Being a string player, I really enjoyed the orchestra in the background.  The lyrics were so touching, and literally brought a tear to my eye when I first heard it.  The guys sounded awesome together (as usual) and the solos were are well spread out.  Wonderful way to wrap up the album guys!  I can tell you're here to stay!

Overall Rating:   A

O-Town did a wonderful job making a great album to present to the people for the first time.  I'm looking forward to their next one.  Step aside BSB, move over Nsync - O-Town is here to stay!
