Nsync - Debut Album
1. Tearin' Up My Heart
This song has a pretty catchy beat.  The lyrics sound like something a first time boyband would sing, but there all right.  Now, in my mind, I feel that every group has one person who holds all their songs together and makes the songs great.  I personally think that for Nsync, that person is JC Chasez.  Not because he's my favorite, but because he has a really strong voice and holds all the songs great, this one in particular.

2.
I Just Wanna Be With You
Okayyy...the background sounds like music from a Spice Girls Track (kinda like #11 on "NSA") All the "Na, na, na, na's" don't go well with the songs, and the lyrics aren't the best they could have been.  I'll give them the "It's our first album, we're beginners," but this song isn't worth listening to.

3.
Here We Go
I think that when groups mention themselves in their songs ("yes, yes, yes here we go!  Nsync's got the flow!"), you know from the beginning that the song is gonna stink.  The background is catchy, but sounds like something that belongs in a arboics class.  Again, JC (and Justin, in this one) holds the song together, and carries it well to the end.  Not good, but not bad.

4.
For the Girl Who Has Everything
I LOVE the background music in this song!  It's soft, and the guitar adds a lot.  The lyrics are great, very "anti-boyband," and all the guys sound totally kick-butt together.  The whole concept of bringing love to a girl who supposedly has "everything" is a nice break from the songs dealing with relationship problems.  Not to sound obsessed with this song, but JC sounds great in this song.  And FYI- I know for a fact that this is his fave on the album.

5.
God Must Have Spent A Little More Time (On You)
When Nsync first came out, tons of critics said they were just a bunch of "BSB wanna-be's."  But in all their songs, this one most of all, it shows that they are original and have their own sound.  I really like that they mentioned God, because you don't hear Him often in music any more.  All the guys sounded great and Justin really gives it his all.  (JC does too, but I don't wanna seem too hung up on him.)

6.
You Got It
Umm...I really don't know what to say about this song.  The music really distracts from the lyrics, which to begin with, aren't that great.  Even JC can't fix this song.  The words are really stupid, and the only good thing in this song is the background music.

7.
I Need Love
This song sounds like something out of the eighties.  A little behind the times in the music, but the lyrics are cute.  I mean, who doesn't need a love that "burns like fire?"  JC really sounds great in this song (I think I can give up hiding my obession), and so do the rest od the guys.  This one makes you wanna get up and dance...or at least get up.

8.
I Want You Back
The lyrics sound like "boyband" material (which they aren't!  They're a boy VOCAL GROUP!),  and the music isn't as creative as the second album.  I'll give um' a break since it's their debut album, but it isn't a favorite

9.
Everything I Own
Is it just me, or does this sound like something the Beatles would have sung?  That being said, we know this song is gonna be GREAT!  Anything that sounds like the Beatles is.  The lyrics are so touching, and the beat was great.  Justin sounds better in this song then others, and, like always, JC sounds great.

10.
I Drive Myself Crazy
I don't exactly know how to start this review.  The music video always creeped me out, so I avoided listening to the song.  Granted the words are cute and the music is somewhat original (I hear a hint of some of Seal's work), this song still isn't one of my faves.

11.
Crazy For You
Okay, this is a good song, but it sounds more like it should have been a BSB tune.  The beat at least does.  The lyrics aren't that great, but they aren't terrible.  JC holds it through the whole song, and the guys sound fairly decent together.

12.
Sailing
Wow.  When I saw the title, I thought this song would be cheesy and stupid, but it's FAR from that!  This is a really great song!  JC (I'm actually being serious this time) sounds great, and the whole song in general breaks the "boyband" mold.  This reminds me of a lullaby my parents had made for me when I was younger, and I LOVE IT!!!

13.
Giddy Up
There is always one song on every album that you just can;t stand to listen to.  For this album, it's "Giddy Up."  Therefor, there will be no review for it.

Overall Album Rating:  B+/A-

I can't decide what to give the guys, but it's defiantly above average for debut albums.  They put together an awesome one to show the fans, and theyshowed the critics that they weren't BSB wanna-be's.  They're better!
