| 1. Thong Song What bad things can be said about this song? Or one with the word "thong" in the title? Mr. Sisqo really broke boundries with this song, with his catchy lyrics and upbeat background music. Mixing simple words and terms to creat a great chorus, and ryhming 80 percent of the song brought Sisqo a hit single that won't be forgotten. Having been on the TRL countdown 65 days and being dubbed the theme song of Spring Break 2000, the "Thong Song" will be going down in musical history along with the Beatles and the Backstreet Boys. 2. My Way - Limp Bizkit Being a big Limp fan, I have to say this is one of their greatest hits. My friends and I love the connection Fred makes with wanting things to go his way, or the highway. The insterments in the back give full effect to the song, and Fred gives it his all in vocals. Wess really lets it rip on the guitar, and the DJ in the back does great moves with the "Check, check out, check, check, check out my melody." All in all, I'd give it two thumbs up. Kudos to Limp Bizkit! Best song since "Nookie" and "Rollin." 3. Ride Wit Me - Nelly I just recentally switched from listening strictly to pop, to opening up my mind to different styles of music. Now, I know what's good, and I know what I like. And Nelly, with his hit "Ride Wit Me" diffinatly a song that sticks to both of those. Nelly is truly talented when it comes to rapidly rhyming the lyrics in this particular song. The background beat is very simple, but you aren't paying attention in this rap, since Nelly's smooth voice draws all the attention. This song deffinatly gets five stars and Anja's seal of approval (if there was such a thing). Congrats to Nelly (and the St. Lunitics)! We can tell you're here to stay. 4. Clint Eastwood (The Remix) - The Gorillaz I like the beat in this song. It mixes happiness with a slight hint of depression. The regaee sounds really cool with the guys voices. I never really understood why "Clint Eastwood" was never mentioned in this song, but some things just aren't meant to be known. All in all, good song, but I still think the original is better. 5. Someone to Call My Lover - Janet Jackson I like this song best out of all Janet's song. The gutiar in the background sounds great, and her voice is smooth and perky. The lyrics are cute, but don't make a ton of sense in some parts. The song has a slamming chorus...it's very catchy. Although, I could have done without the "Ay-ya, ah-ya, ah-ya, ah-ya's" at the end of the chorus's. Everything else was great! 6. The Rock Show - Blink 182 Blink-182 is one of of those groups that can get away with stupid lyrics that make no sense. And this song is one of them! It basicaly talks about this that |
