‘I still think about what I said to her. Did I really want to become a human? Or was I just to much in love to decide?’ Inu Yasha sat up in a tree pondering these
things. Shippo and Kilala were sleeping
and Sango and Kagome sat by the fire talking.
Miroku sat up against the hut and watched the stars. They were in the village near the Bone
Eater’s Well. Kagome still had the
Shikon Jewel shards hanging around her neck.
They were so close to collecting the last bit.
“Where are we going
tomorrow Kagome?” Sango asked.
“Well, I was going to
go back to my time. My Birthday’s
tomorrow and I wanted to spend time with my family and friends. I’m finally turning fifteen.” Kagome said.
“Well that’s
nice.” Sango said.
“Why don’t you just
spend it here?” Inu Yasha asked looking
down at them.
“Well, I’ve always
spent time with my family on my Birthday.”
Kagome said looking up at him.
“Why not just have
them come here?” Inu Yasha said as he
turned back to look at the forest.
“Are you kidding? Demons roam freely here and I don’t want my
family to get involved with them.”
Kagome said.
“I think someone wants
you to stay again.” Miroku said as he
smiled mischievously to himself.
“Shut up Monk! I didn’t ask you.” Inu Yasha growled.
“Hey!” Kagome said as she stood up, “Why don’t you
guys come with me tomorrow to my time?
You can meet my family.”
“But how?” Sango asked.
“I can give you a
shard and each one of you can follow me.
I don’t think my family would mind.”
Kagome said. “In fact, they want
to know the people I hand out with when I come here.”
“Feh!” Inu Yasha said as he jumped down from his
tree and then walked off towards the old tree.
* * * * *
Kagome sighed as she
tried to sleep that night. ‘Exactly
one year ago I fell threw the Bone Eater’s Well. It’s been a crazy year but I wouldn’t change it for anything in
the world. I met my best friends here
as well. Sango and Miroku are always
kind of flirting with each other. Even
though Sango will never admit it to anyone.
I also met Inu Yasha…gosh; he’s the first one I’ve met here. Even though he was under Kikyo’s spell. At first we didn’t get along, but I will
always be thankful we met Yura. If it
wasn’t for her, I would have been sure that Inu Yasha just wanted me around
‘cause I could see the Shikon Jewel shards.
But, also, latter he did hold me in his arms and…ACK! I’m blushing! I have to stop thinking about him, maybe a midnight walk would do
me some good.’
Kagome quietly got up
and walked towards the Bone Eater’s Well.
Inu Yasha’s forest seemed quiet and pretty at night. She sighed and then jumped at the sound of a
twig snapping. “W-who’s there?” She said as she picked up a rock from the
ground, “I have a rock and I know how to use it!” ‘Oh yes, threaten a wild
demon with a rock! Feh! Like they would be scared of a rock. Now what will I do to get my self out of
this mess?’ Kagome threw the
rock in surprise to see a girl dash out of the bushes. She looked about Kagome’s age. She also notices that she had white
hair. She looked up and rubbed her
head.
“Oww, you know rocks
do hurt when they hit their target.”
She said.
“Why were you
following me?” Kagome asked.
“Oww, I wasn’t on
purpose. I wanted to know what a human
girl was doing out in the forest so late.”
She said.
“Shirubaa, why are you stopping and talking
with that?” A boy said as he walked towards them.
“Shiro,
I just answered her question.” Shirubaa
said.
The
boy was taller then the girl and had silver hair. He also carried a staff that had three blades on it.
“Hey! I’m a human girl, not a that for your
information!” Kagome yelled.
The
boy turned his head and spat at the ground.
“For all I care, you’re just scum on the bottom of my shoe.” Shiro said.
The
boy grabbed the girl and jumped back to get out of the way of an attack. Kagome
sighed to see a very pissed off Inu Yasha.
“You
listen here, I don’t know who the hell you are but Kagome’s no scum!” Inu Yasha said.
“You
idiot!” Shirubaa yelled as she hit
Shiro over the head with his staff.
“Why do you have to be so damn rude when we meet new species! Shiro, I can’t take you anywhere,” She
paused as she turned to face the dog demon and Kagome, “I’m sorry my boyfriend
was being so rude to you, ah Kagome right?”
Shirubaa said as Shiro stood rubbing his swore head.
“It’s
ok.” Kagome said.
“So,
why were you walking out here in the night, demons could take advantage of you
if all you use is a rock.” Shirubaa said as she giggled.
“Err,
I don’t like the smell of her.” Inu
Yasha mumbled.
The
girl turned around to look at Inu Yasha, “Then why don’t you leave, I don’t
like the smell of you either dog boy.”
Shirubaa said.
“Inu
Yasha, don’t be rude. Apologize to
her.” Kagome said.
“Why
do I have to apologize to a she fox?”
Inu Yasha complained.
“She
fox?” Kagome said as she looked at
Shirubaa.
“Ya,
I’m a kitsune. An albino one at
that. Don’t you see the ears and
tail?” She said.
“Let’s
go Shirubaa. Before the halflings asks
us where we came from.” Shiro said.
“Fine,
I guess we’ll see you around.” Shirubaa
said.
The
two of them left and left Inu Yasha and Kagome to stand-alone in the
forest. Inu Yasha turned around and
began to walk towards the well. “I hate
foxes. They’re all so nosy and
rude.” Inu Yasha said.
“Oh
come on Inu Yasha, she wasn’t all that bad.”
Kagome said.
“Why
the hell were you walking alone out here in the middle of the night
anyway? You could have been attacked by
those foxes!” Inu Yasha said.
“I
was just walking, I had to clear my mind of something.” Kagome said as she turned around to head
back towards the small hut that they were staying at.
“Well
next time, tell me if you’re going out so late for a walk.” Inu Yasha said as he turned around and
walked to the tree he was sleeping in.
* * * * *
The next morning,
Kagome gathered her things and the others waited patiently for Kagome to give
them a shard. They were finally set and
were ready to leave.
“Sango, here’s a piece
for you. I’ll let you guys go
first. You just have to jump in and
climb out when you touch town on the other side, but please don’t leave the
shrine till I come, I don’t want them thinking that you’re bad demons. Here’s one for you Miroku.” Kagome said as she got a shard out for
Miroku.
“That’s ok Kagome, I
have my own.” Miroku said as he pulled
out a small silk pouch and turned it over to reveal its contents. Three shards fell out of the bag.
“Where’d you get
those?” Shippo asked as he jumped up
onto Miroku’s head.
“When I was traveling
alone, I gathered these from countless demons.” Miroku said.
“Oh yes, I forgot you
had those. Inu Yasha, I have one for
you.” Kagome said as she seen him jump
down the well. “I forgot, he doesn’t
need one to get to my time.” Kagome
said as she picked up Shippo from Miroku’s head.
Sango, Miroku, and
Kagome, who was holding Shippo, walked towards the well. They peered inside as Kagome seen the
nervous looks on their faces.
“Ladies first.” Miroku said.
“How about you see if
it works.” Sango said as she pushed
Miroku in. He fell face first and then
disappeared.
Sango stood up on the
side of the well then jumped. She
disappeared. Kagome climbed up and then
turned around to feel that someone was watching her. She shook off the feeling and then jumped. She found herself cramped in the well. “Why hasn’t anyone tried to climb out?” Kagome asked.
“There’s some one up
there.” Miroku said.
Kagome climbed up to
see her mother in front of Inu Yasha scratching his ears. Inu Yasha was used to this because every
time he’d cross over she always had to touch his ears. Kagome smiled and then spoke, “Mom, I’m back
and I brought some friends.”
“Oh, Kagome, Happy
Birthday hun. I see that your one cute
friend came with you, and who’s that in your arms?” Kagome’s mother asked.
“Oh, this is Shippo,
and my two other friends are still in the well,” Kagome said as she walked
towards the well and peered inside, Miroku had apparently let a hand go astray
as Sango clobbered him over the head with his staff. “You guys can come up now, it was only my mother.”
Sango climbed up the
small wooden ladder that was put in the well so Kagome could get out of the
well easier. Miroku followed after
Sango stood on the ground. Kagome’s
mother smiled as she seen Sango and Miroku climb out of the well. “Hello there, Kagome, you brought home
another cute young man too.” She said
as Kagome blushed and Miroku smiled.
“Ah Mom, he’s just a
friend.” Kagome said.
“Oh,
Kagome dear, I invited your friends over, I believe that Hojo is also coming
too.” She said as she walked up the
steps. “Kagome, you should invite your
other friends inside for some tea.”
Kagome
blushed as Inu Yasha looked towards her, “Who’s this Hojo?” Inu Yasha growled.
“He’s
boy from school I’m seeing.” Kagome
said as she turned and walked up the steps. ‘Why did I have to say that? Of all things why that?’
“Watch
out Kagome, Inu Yasha’s jealous.” Miroku said.
Inu
Yasha stared after her and then growled and then turned to the well and jumped
in.
Kagome
sighed and then invited the two into her house for tea.
* * * * *
‘Why did she have to
say that? I know she knows I like
her. Who is this Hojo person who’s
trying to take away my Kagome, I’ll kill him if he lays one hand on her! Err, what am I thinking, I don’t like
Kagome, why would I anyway. For all I
care this Hojo could have her.’
“I don’t think that’s how you feel.”
A familiar voice said from behind Inu Yasha.
He
turned to see Shirubaa standing and smiling.
“What? How did you know what I
was thinking?” Inu Yasha growled then
ran towards her.
She
jumped and smiled as she landed behind him, “Dear little halfling, you do love
her.” Shirubaa said as she giggled.
“Get
away from my fox! I’m in the mood of
tearing something apart and I believe that you will be the one I tear
apart.” Inu Yasha growled.
“I’m
safe around you, you really don’t have your mind here anyway, and you could say
it’s in that world you just left behind.”
She said as she jumped to a tree to avoid Inu Yasha’s attack.
“Come
back here and how do you know about the other world on the other side of the
well?” Inu Yasha asked as he began to
get frustrated with the fox.
Shirubaa
smiled and then jumped down to Inu Yasha’s side to whisper something into his
ear. “Foxes are curious and your woman
didn’t tell me why she was walking so late out here in the forest. So I watched you guys this morning and saw
you jump in that well. I was going to
check it out but you came back. Poor,
poor little halfling, can’t get a human to love you back?” She said as Inu Yasha wrapped his hand
around her neck. She just stood there
and smiled. Inu Yasha felt something
sharp poke his back and draw some blood.
“If
you put her down now I’ll let you live.”
The boy said, as he pressed harder on Inu Yasha’s back.
“You
bastard.” Inu Yasha said as he let her
go.
“Leave
him alone Shiro.” Shirubaa said as she
jumped up into the tree behind them.
Shiro
growled and then walked to the tree where Shirubaa sat. Inu Yasha got fed up with her game and left
the foxes. He grumbled to himself as he
walked towards the village. ‘How dare that bitch
read my mind! If only there wasn’t two
of them I could have killed her easily.’
* * * * *
Kagome’s
friends arrived one by one. Kagome had
told Miroku not to lay one hand on them.
She had given Miroku some of her grandfather’s old clothing and Kagome
gave Sango one of her own old dresses.
Shippo on the other hand put on small baggy pants and a pair of socks to
go around his feet. Kagome hoped that
nobody would ask about his hands.
Kagome wore her yellow dress with the blue top. Every one was there and had been
introduced. She told her friends that
Miroku and Sango were out of town friends.
The doorbell rang and Kagome opened it to see Hojo.
“Hello
Kagome, I’m surprised to see that you’re feeling well today since last week you
were suffering from that bubo.” Hojo
said.
Kagome
turned away from Hojo and clenched her fist, ‘Grandpa, why did you tell Hojo I had
THAT. Why not the flu or a cold. Err never mind.’
“Ah,
Kagome? Are you feeling alright?” Hojo asked as Kagome turned around to face
him.
“Ya,
I’m alright, I want you to meet my friends.”
Kagome said changing the subject.
* * * * *
Inu
Yasha sat in his tree out side the village thinking about what Kagome said,
“He’s boy from school I’m seeing.” Inu
Yasha sighed and then got up. ‘I’m going to see
this Hojo, what does he have that I don’t?
Beside the fact that he’s all human.
Err! Damn, what else could it
be?’
Inu Yasha ran along the forest floor to the well and then jumped down, ‘I can’t let her know
that I’m here.’ Inu Yasha jumped out of the well and found himself surrounded by all
sorts of human scents. He checked to
see if Kagome was near and found that she wasn’t. He ran around to the back and found the tree. He jumped up into the tree and out of the
poor site of the humans. Kagome and her
friends walked out of the shrine and sat on some chairs. Inu Yasha caught some of the names but he
hadn’t heard the name Hojo come across his ears yet. Then a boy about a foot or so taller then Kagome walked out of
the shrine and sat by Kagome. Sango,
Miroku and Shippo sat on the other side of Kagome. One by one the girls gave Kagome their gifts to her. She was happy to see that she got a
necklace, a new brush, bath soap, and some hair scrunchies. Hojo gave Kagome her gift last. She opened it to see two diamond
earrings.
“Oh
wow! Thank you Hojo.” Kagome said as she took out the earrings she
had in and replaced them with the ones Hojo gave her.
“I’m
glad you like them.” Hojo said as he
smiled.
Inu
Yasha growled as he eyes Hojo. ‘So he gave her some
sparkling jewel, so what, she has a much nicer one around her neck. What!
He’s putting his arm around that back of her seat! I’ll kill him! Err, bastard, keep your filthy hands off of her!’ Kagome got up
quickly and said she was going to get some drinks and food for everyone. Inu Yasha sighed in relief. He saw that she kept fiddling with that gift
Hojo had giving Kagome. Inu Yasha
waited till everyone had gone inside and dashed for the well. ‘I have to get something Kagome would
like more than that Hojo’s gift. Now,
what did my father give my mother to win her over? Maybe Miyoga knows?’ Inu Yasha jumped into the well and then tried to find the flea. He came to a sudden fault for a certain fox
had jumped in his way.
“What
do you want know bitch, I’m kinda in the middle of something here.” Inu Yasha said as he tried to go around
her.
Shirubaa
stopped him and giggled. “So some other
guy is trying to get your woman huu? Or
is she not your woman yet. Yes, I know,
you want to get her something better then what this other guy gave her
hmm?”
‘Damn, how can she
read my thoughts so easily?’
“I knew I was right, so you don’t know what to get her. Why don’t you give her this?” Shirubaa said as she held out a small
stone. It was a prism.
“What
is that?” Inu Yasha asked.
“This
will win the woman you love over.”
Shirubaa said.
“I
don’t love anyone!” Inu Yasha yelled.
“Ok
then, I’ll just take this back then.”
Shirubaa said as she pulled her hand slowly back with the stone.
“Wait
I’ll take it.” Inu Yasha said.
“Ok,
have fun.” Shirubaa said as a popping
noise was heard and smoke appeared where Shirubaa stood.
“Damn
fox, she made me take this stone, but what would Kagome see in a stone?” Inu Yasha asked aloud to himself. Inu Yasha put it into his pocket and hurried
off towards the well.
In
a tree not so far away from where Inu Yasha was, Shirubaa snuggled up against
Shiro. “This is going to be fun.” She said.
“Why
do you have to mess with the feelings of those two anyway?” Shiro said as he leaned his head down onto
Shirubaa’s shoulder.
“Because
I want to see what will happen. I like
to help couples along.” Shirubaa said.
“Yes,
but do you remember why we were kicked out of our mountain tribe? You meddled too much and they didn’t like
it. Now that stone, what will it
do?” Shiro said.
“Why
don’t we wait and see.” Shirubaa said
as she kissed Shiro’s cheek. “My sliver
fox, you know it’s in my nature to play what those human’s call the love
goddess. They call upon me to help
them. So I take my time and slowly help
them.” She said.
“But
why that girl? I know you only work
with the female of the species.” Shiro
said.
“Yes,
because the men don’t think they need any help. That girl, I knew why she was walking so late at night, she’s
lucky just to see me you know. Even
though she didn’t say anything, her thoughts still called out to me. She loves that halfling and I’m just helping
them both out.” Shirubaa said as she
turned around to hold Shiro.
Shiro
smiled as they both drift off to sleep.
* * * * *
Kagome
said goodbye to her friends one by one as they left to go home. Hojo stood by Kagome as she said her
goodbyes. Kagome also wasn’t really
paying attention to some things as he mind was somewhere else, or shall I say,
with someone else. ‘Inu Yasha? I didn’t mean what I said earlier. I wish you could tell.’ Kagome sighed as she closed
the door and walked to sit down in a chair.
Hojo caught her by the hand and turned her around to face him.
“Kagome,
are you feeling alright, you don’t look like your self?” Hojo asked.
Kagome
was about to answer but Miroku spoke, “She’s just upset because Inu Yasha
didn’t come.”
Sango
hit Miroku over the head with a pillow, “Who is Inu Yasha?” Hojo asked.
“He’s
a friend.” Kagome answered rather to
quickly.
Hojo
eyes her then said good-bye and headed towards the door. He was about to open it when someone else
opened it from the outside. There stood
a man, about Hojo’s height, wearing a red old-fashioned kimono. Hojo stared at the man as he asked. “What do you want?”
Inu
Yasha pushed Hojo aside and then walked into the room where Kagome and the
others sat. Hojo followed after
him. “You can’t just come in, this
isn’t even my house.” Hojo said.
“Kagome,
here.” Inu Yasha said as he tossed
Kagome a small silk bag.
Kagome
opened the bag and turned it over. A
small clear rock fell out onto Kagome’s hand.
She held it up and the light hit it.
On the wall opposite to her was a rainbow of colors. She turned to Inu Yasha and smiled, “Thank
you Inu Yasha.” She said and the put
the stone on the table so that the colors would still be seen.
“Kagome? Do you know this person?” Hojo asked as he looked up to see he had
white dog-ears.
“Yes.” Kagome said as she smiled.
Hojo
stared and then left. Sango and Miroku
looked at the stone. “Where did you get
this?” Sango asked.
“Yes,
where did you get this stone?” Miroku
asked.
“I
found it in a cave.” Inu Yasha lied.
“It’s called
a prism. I’ve always wanted one.” Kagome said.
“Kagome,
can’t I talk with you alone?” Inu Yasha
asked.
Kagome looked
at Inu Yasha and then answered, “Ok Inu Yasha.”
Sango and
Miroku smiled to themselves as the two walked out of the room.
* * * * *
On
the other side of the well, Shirubaa woke up and had walked over to the
well. She reached into another one of
her pockets and pulled out two pieces of the Shikon Jewel. These were the last two Kagome needed. Shiro jumped down and stood next Shirubaa
and smiled. “You’re going to give those
two the last pieces?” Shiro asked.
“Yes.” She skimpily answered.
“Do
you know what will happen? You know she
is going to give the jewel to that halfling.”
Shiro said.
“Yes,
I know but that’s where you will come in.
He has two choices, he could become human, or he could become a full
fledged demon.” Shirubaa said. “That woman, she likes him for who he is, a
halfling. I want him to see that. So when that prism I gave that halfling
touches the moonlight, they would be transported to demon that would hold these
two shards.”
“Who
is this demon?” Shiro asked.
“Why
my silly fox, you will be the demon.
You have to play a mind game with that silly little halfling.” Shirubaa
said as she leaned back. “Now, position
your self about a half a mile that way and have these two jewel shards
out. Make sure you don’t use to much
energy getting there.”
“I
can just teleport, remember.” He said
as he kissed her temple and disappeared.
She
chuckled as she teleported after him to watch.
* * * * *
Inu
Yasha dragged Kagome out into the garden where some fireflies were. Kagome smiled as she watched the stars shine
overhead. Inu Yasha noticed she was
holing his gift in her hand. He turned
to face her and sat down on the cement.
Kagome sat down beside him. He
looked up at her, ‘What am I doing, I don’t even know how to start? Well I can at least try…’ “Kagome, I’m sorry for running off earlier.” Inu Yasha said.
‘He’s
apologizing?’ “It’s ok. The party was kinda boring. You would have left during it.” Kagome said.
‘That’s not true.’ “Kagome, I ah…you really do
like my present?” Inu Yasha asked. ‘Damn, I changed the
subject.’
“Ya, I love it, it’s my favorite out of all I’ve gotten today.” Kagome said as she opened her hand. The moonlight hit the prism and the stone
turned white. “Wha-what’s
happening?” Kagome said as the two
disappeared.
The
two reappeared in a clearing somewhere in a forest. Inu Yasha growled as he got up to see if Kagome was all
right. He got up and looked before him
to see a familiar fox sitting on a rock holding up two Shikon Jewel
shards. Kagome sat up and looked at Inu
Yasha.
“Damn
bitch fox. She tricked my into giving
that to you.” Inu Yasha growled.
“Inu
Yasha, he has two of the Shikon Jewel shards.”
Kagome said.
“I
can see that.” Inu Yasha replied.
The
boy fox looked up and chuckled. “So
you’re finally here. Now, I know what
you want, so come and try and take them from me.” Shiro said as he put the jewel shards into his pocket.
“Fine
then, now that there is only one of you.
I can kill you guys easily.” Inu
Yasha said as he unsheathed the Tetsusaiga.
Shiro
grabbed his staff and held it in front of him.
“Inu Yasha, you’ll find me to be a not so easy opponent.” Shiro said as he disappeared.
Inu
Yasha’s ears began to twitch as he tried to pick up Shiro’s movements. He jumped back to see that Shiro appeared in
front of him. He reached into his
pocket and threw some sort of powder in Inu Yasha’s face. He spat and coughed as he wipes the stuff
out of his eyes. “That was a cheap
shot, trying to blind me.” Inu Yasha
said.
“Oh,
I’m not that ruthless, all I did was kill your scent of smell. Now you can’t track me.” Shiro said as he disappeared once
again. He heard a noise from behind him
and saw that Shiro was holding Kagome.
“You
bastard let her go!” Inu Yasha yelled as he dashed towards them.
Shiro
smiled and put a blade to her neck.
“Let’s see what you would all do for this woman. If you do the right things, she will be
unharmed. If you do the wrong thing,
she’ll be hurt. Now the first question
is, Will you sacrifice your own life for her?”
Shiro smiled as she held the blade to her neck.
“Of
course I would!” Inu Yasha yelled.
“Next
question, is this woman the only one in your heart?” He smiled.
“What
do you mean by that?” Inu Yasha asked.
“Is
this woman the only one you love, or is there another you also like?” Shiro asked.
Inu
Yasha stood there and watched Kagome.
“Is-is this a trick question? If
you are talking about Kikyo, I can’t choose this way. She was the first person I loved and I can’t help but still kind
of do.” Inu Yasha said as he turned his
head away.
Shiro
smiled and pulled his blade down to cut her cheek. Kagome whimpered as he ran the blade down her cheek. “Stop it!
I didn’t finish! But, the only
reason I do still love Kikyo is that I want her to be put to rest, I don’t want
her soul to be filled up with hatred as it is now.” Inu Yasha said as he looked at Kagome with his eyes almost in
tears.
‘Why is he looking at
me like that?’
“Now tell me, why are you crying?”
Shiro asked as the cut on Kagome’s cheek sealed up.
“I
don’t like seeing Kagome in any pain.”
Inu Yasha said as a single tear ran down his cheek.
“Now,
for the last question, this Kikyo, what is the difference between this woman
and her?” Shiro asked now glaring at
Inu Yasha, just daring him to answer it wrong.
Inu
Yasha thought to himself, ‘How am I supposed to put this into words that won’t cause Kagome
pain?’ “The
difference is…when Kikyo touches me, I still feel the warmth of when we were
first in love. But that is all old
feelings; I don’t feel any warmth from her body. It’s just cold. Kagome, I
feel warmth from her. She’s alive and
pure. That’s the difference between
them.” Inu Yasha said as he smiled at
Kagome. “I love Kagome with all my
heart. I love her for her being
alive. She helped change my ways. She made me realize that I’m not alone in
this damn little world.”
‘He loves me?’ Kagome smiled as she felt two Shikon Jewel shards fall into her
hand. Shiro let go of Kagome and
disappeared to behind Inu Yasha.
“You
passed the first part of the test that my fox has set for you.” Shiro said.
“Now, you must choose who you want to be.” Inu Yasha turned around to look at him but there was only
smoke. He turned to Kagome and they
stood up. The stone was still in
Kagome’s hand as well as two new Shikon jewel shards.
* * * * *
Inu
Yasha walked over to Kagome and they quietly walked to the well. The both jumped in and stood there, not
knowing what to say. Kagome looked at
Inu Yasha and then they climbed out to sit on the well. Inu Yasha turned to look at Kagome and then
looked away. Kagome then worked up the
nerve to say something.
“Inu
Yasha?” She said.
“Yes
Kagome?” He answered.
“All
you said back there…was it true?” She
asked.
“Yes,
Shiro, he could tell I wasn’t lying.
Kagome, I meant every word of it.”
Inu Yasha said as he took her hand into his.
Kagome
blushed and was about to say something else but almost fell back into the well
from being surprised. Miroku, Shippo,
and Sango stood at the top of the stairs looking at them. Kagome and Inu Yasha let go of each other’s
hands. Shippo ran down to sit on
Kagome’s lap.
“Kagome,
we’ve been so worried, you and Inu Yasha disappeared.” Shippo said.
“We’re
ok.” Kagome said.
Miroku
looked down upon the two of them and smiled.
“So, Inu Yasha, what did you two talked about?”
“None
of your damn business Monk!” Inu Yasha
said as he walked up the stairs and passed Miroku and to the tree.
Kagome
blushed and walked after him. “Miroku,
Sango, Shippo, I’ll show you where you guys are going to sleep tonight. It’s safe to say that Inu Yasha’s going to
sleep outside in the tree.” Kagome said
as the others followed her to the small den and three beds were set up ready to
be slept in. Sota walked in and looked
at Kagome’s friends and then walked over to Kagome. “Hey sis, where’s Inu Yasha?
Didn’t he come; I didn’t see him at your party. Did you two have another fight?” Sota said.
“He’s
out back in the tree. And you ask to
many questions.” Kagome said.
“Hey
sis, are the two tall people humans?
They sorta look like demons.”
Sota said.
“Sota,
that was rude! They’re humans!” Kagome said as she knocked him over the
head.
“Sorry
about that, I thought that you might have been one. Oh Kagome! Don’t forget
to lock your window tonight. I saw Inu
Yasha sleeping by your window outside.”
Sota said as he ran out of the room.
“Sota! Knock it off!” Kagome yelled after him.
“I’m
going to go to bed ok Kagome. Sango
said as she curled up in one of the beds.
Miroku
smiled, “I’ll go to bed too.” Miroku
said as he walked over to Sango.
*WACK* “You will sleep in your
own bed!” Sango yelled as she hit him
over the head several more times with his staff.
Kagome
sighed, “You were so good today too Miroku.”
Kagome said as she left the three to sleep.
“Good
night Kagome.” Shippo said as he curled
up in another bed between Sango and Miroku.

“My
fox you did well, that monk gave that woman his shards for a present. She has the complete jewel. We have one more task for that halfling and
then they should be each other’s. I
only need your help.” Shirubaa said as
she began to giggle.
“I
know, you always need my help.” Shiro
said as he walked towards his fox and sat down beside her. “Now, what do you think will happen
tonight?”
“Hmm,
he’ll go and see her. And she’ll give
him the jewel, she knows he wants it so she’ll do anything to make him happy
now.” Shirubaa said.
“Ok
then, but I have to see him in order to work my fox magic on him.” Shiro said as Shirubaa smiled and got up to
stand in front of him.
“Come
one, we’ll go now.” Shirubaa took off
towards the well and Shiro got up and walked after her.

Inu
Yasha watched Kagome walk in her room and open her window. Inu Yasha seen her invite him in and he
jumped onto her windowsill. He sat
there as she pulled up a chair. “You
don’t have to sit there silly. Sit on a
chair.” Kagome said.
Inu
Yasha sat in the chair. Kagome pulled
some covers out of her closet and handed them to Inu Yasha. He looked at her then the covers, “What are
these for?” He asked.
“When
you go back out to sleep in the tree, I thought that you might want something
soft to lay on.” Kagome said.
Inu
Yasha put the covers on the floor beside his chair. Kagome sat on her bed and took the Shikon jewel from around her
neck and held it out for Inu Yasha to take it.
“You want me to have it?” Inu
Yasha asked in surprise.
“Yes,
you can become that full fledged demon you were always talking about.” Kagome said as she placed the jewel and the
shards into Inu Yasha’s hand. “You’ll
have to wait till we’re back in your time so that Sango, Miroku, and Shippo can
get through the well.” Kagome said.
“But
Kagome, if the jewel is used, then its power will be gone. And you can’t come back through the
well.” Inu Yasha said.
“I
know. I would stay as long as I could
then go home. You could always come and
see me.” Kagome said.
Inu
Yasha stared at the jewel. He got up
and grabbed the covers and then walked to the window, he had the whole night to
think about what he wanted to do. He
sat in his tree pondering what he could choose from, ‘I could become
human, but I would be able to stay with Kagome forever, well at least till she
crosses over for good. I could also
become a demon, I could still be with Kagome forever but then my pups will be
shunned like I was. Damn, how come this
has to be so damn hard! I’ll just sleep
on it.’ Inu Yasha
drifted off to sleep with those thoughts in his head. Not to far away were two demons, watching.
“Ok,
now it’s time to work your magic. Show
him what would happen if he decides to become a human.” Shirubaa said.
“Ok
then.” Shiro said as he began to chant
an ancient spell.
* * * * *
“Inu
Yasha? You chose to become a
human? What about becoming a
demon?” Kagome asked as the others
stared at him.
“Kagome,
I want to be with you forever. I want
to live like a human, like you.” Inu
Yasha said as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Inu
Yasha?” Kagome said in shock.
“Dear
little brother, how touching. You
became one of them. Now Inu Yasha, hand
over the sword.” A familiar voice said.
“Sesshomaru!
I’ll never give you the sword!” Inu Yasha said as he drew the Tetsusaiga and
held it out. The sword stayed it’s old
rusty self. “Wha-what’s going on?” Inu Yasha said in surprise.
“Inu
Yasha, you’re a human now, you can’t wield the power of the sword.” Miroku yelled.
“Damn
it all!” Inu Yasha said as he put it
away.
“Dear
little brother, you think you can beat me with your fists? You’re a pathetic human now, you don’t stack
up with me.” Sesshomaru said as he
pulled out his whip and slashed it at Inu Yasha.
Inu
Yasha flew back and landed up against a rock.
His head was bleeding. Kagome
rushed over to him. “Inu Yasha?” Kagome said.
“Kagome,
look out.” Inu Yasha said quietly.
Kagome
turned to see Sesshomaru. He used his
right hand and jabbed it into her stomach.
She fell onto Inu Yasha.
“Kagome! You bastard!” Inu Yasha yelled.
“Don’t
worry little brother, you can join your pathetic human.
He
took his bloody claws and drove it threw Inu Yasha’s skull.
* * * * *
“Oooh,
how gory. I think that will do my love,
now, show him what will happen if he is a full fledged demon.” Shirubaa said as she giggled.
“Yes
my fox, we’ll show him how cruel he can be to his woman.” Shiro said.
* * * * *
Inu
Yasha breathed hard and looked at himself in the reflection of a puddle. His eyes were glowing red and his teeth were
longer. His voice was deeper and claws
were sharper. He raised his hand to his
neck and grabbed the beads. He smiled
and looked towards Kagome.
“Inu
Yasha?” Kagome said as she stepped
forward.
Inu
Yasha didn’t say anything but grabbed his sword. The spell that kept Sesshomaru from touching it was now working
against Inu Yasha. He dropped it and
held his hand. He looked up and then
slowly walked towards Kagome.
“Inu
Yasha…” Kagome started to step backwards as he came closer, “please say
something Inu Yasha, I know this isn’t you.”
Kagome said.
“Kagome,
he’s a ruthless demon now! Get out of
there!” Miroku yelled.
“He’s
still Inu Yasha, hey!” Kagome said as
Inu Yasha grabbed her arm and held it tightly.
“That hurt’s let go Inu Yasha!
Sit!” Kagome yelled but to her
surprise the beads didn’t work.
“Err!” Inu Yasha took his left hand and wrapped it
around the beads. He pulled his hand
down fast and the beads snapped and rolled over the ground.
“The
necklace, it doesn’t work anymore.”
Kagome said.
“Come
with me Kagome.” Inu Yasha said as he
turned his head and pulled Kagome along with him further into the forest.
“No,
I want to go home! Stop it Inu
Yasha!” Kagome yelled as she took her
hand and slapped him across the face.
He grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
Kagome yelled in pain as she felt her hand bones be crushed. “Inu Yasha, you’re hurting me, let go of me
please.”
“You’re
mine and no one’s going to take you away from me.” Inu Yasha said as he took Kagome deeper into the forest.
* * * * *
Shirubaa
giggled, “That’s enough love. I don’t
think he’ll want to be a demon if it means hurting his woman.”
“Shirubaa,
you wanted me to make my point so I did. Now, hopefully he will see his other
choice.” Shiro said.
“Hopefully
Shiro, now let’s go home, I have someone calling for me.” Shirubaa said.
“Another
cry for help with there relationship?”
Shiro said.
“No,
it’s a cry to get revenge.” Shirubaa said.
“My
kind of action. Can I help?” Shiro asked.
“Not
this time my pet.” Shirubaa said.
The
two disappeared and then reappeared in the well.
* * * * *
“Kagome,
are you sure you want Inu Yasha to use the Shikon Jewel? You sure you want him to become a full
fledged demon?” Miroku asked.
Inu
Yasha stood by the well, trying to think what he should decide to choose. ‘Kagome would like me as a human, but I
can’t protect her, and if I became a demon, I could end up killing her. What should I do? Or one thing I can to.’
Inu yasha stood holding the jewel.
They all watched him as the jewel began to glow brightly and the
returned too normal. They all looked at
Inu Yasha who was same, or was he?
“Inu
Yasha?” Kagome asked.
“Yes
Kagome?” Inu Yasha said looked up
towards Kagome.
“Did
you become a demon?” Shippo asked.
“No,
I didn’t.” Inu Yasha replied.
“What
did you do then? Why didn’t you become
a full fledged demon?” Kagome asked as
she walked up to him.
“If
I would have become a demon I would have…” Inu Yasha stared.
“…try
to kill her.” Shirubaa giggled.
“Err,
what do you want now!” Inu Yasha
demanded.
Shiro
walked out of the woods and stood next to Shirubaa. His staff was covered in blood, human to be exact.
“So
do tell, what did you wish for, I see that you discoed the other choice that
was hidden.” Shirubaa said.
“It’s
none of your damn business fox and what are you talking about? What about you, why is their human blood on
your staff?” Inu Yasha asked.
“Because
we killed a human, what other explanation is there halfling.” Shiro said.
“Anyway,
Shiro and myself visited your woman’s time, and we helped you realize your
hidden choice. You see, that woman over
their likes you the way are and you didn’t think of that as a choice, now tell
us what you did decide on.” Shirubaa
said.
“Well,
I decided on two things…” Inu Yasha said as he trailed off.
“What did you decide on?” Sango asked.
“Yes
do tell Inu Yasha.” Miroku said.
“Well
the first one, I wanted my pups to live a happy life.” Inu Yasha said.
“Pups? Are you a father Inu Yasha?” Shippo asked.
“No! When I do, I don’t want them to go through
what I did.” Inu Yasha said.
“What
else did you ask for?” Kagome asked.
“Kagome,
I wanted you to be able to cross over freely without the jewel.” Inu Yasha said.
“How
cute, now, I think our work is done.” Shirubaa said.
“What
do you mean, your work is done?” Inu
Yasha growled.
“Oh,
you didn’t think I was just trying to annoy you all this time did you?” Shirubaa said.
“What
are you talking about?” Kagome asked.
“Oh,
dear girl, you don’t remember asking my for your help?” She asked.
“I’ve
never met you in my life.” Kagome said.
“You
know me as ah…I think it was cupid or the love goddess, that’s what I prefer to
be known as.? Well you can call me the
love goddess of the demons. I work part
time as a vengeance demon too. You
asked close to a year ago for my help.
When this one woman, I think Kikyo was around, well you wanted a way to
get Inu Yasha all to your self. So I heard your plea and I helped ever so
slowly. The way I was doing at first
wasn’t working. So Shiro used some of
his magic on you too, remember those dreams dog boy, all Shiro. That stone I gave you was part of the
test. The last part of the test was the
jewel. Well you past and you both
realize you like each other, now, the future of your relation ship is up to
you.” Shirubaa said as she looked over
to Miroku and smiled, “Oh, watch it Miroku, that woman that’s standing beside
you has also asked for my help, but I wasn’t for a relationship, it was for my
vengeance side, but I won’t answer that plea because I think you’re so
cute!” She said as she pinched his
cheek and then walked into the forest.
Shiro
walked by Miroku and growled, “Watch it buddy that’s my girl, and I didn’t say
anything about answering that woman’s plea, I can still kill you.”
Miroku
gulped and then stepped away from Sango.
The others laughed. They soon
set off towards the village to see the village folk. Inu Yasha and Kagome smiled as they walked hand and hand beside
each other.

Hey
thanks for reading. I had to make a
little RN (Romance Novel) for the two.
They just called out to me…ok ok so I was planning on writing this for a
while. *Sticks out her tongue at the
folk who didn’t like the fic* Any way, definitions
The
name Shirubaa come from a Japanese word, I didn’t take the whole word, it comes
from silver fox. Shiro is the same way but it comes from albino fox. If you are wondering why
Shirubaa in the story is an albino kitsune and Shiro is the silver kitsune, I
had them switched but I thought Shiro sounded like a boy’s name so their. Oh if you want to know what a bubo is, you
know, that thing I had Kagome’s grandpa come up with, well a bubo is (grabs her
mothers MICRO-BIOLOGY Essentials and Applications book and flipped open
to the back of the book for definitions) ‘Bubo, bubo,
bubo…hmm, I know I saw it in here some where, ah ha! Here it is.’ *clears
throat loudly and begins to type* A bubo is a Swollen lymph
node due to inflammation. In English, hold on I’ll ask my mom, she’s a DON (Director of Nursing)
In English it means swollen glands, you
know the one’s in your neck, I think, hey that’s the best I can come up with,
I’m not a nurse.
Oh
yes as you can see this is my longest Inu Yasha fanfic and I do have a longer
one, I’m going to type it up but not be as detailed, I’m not willing to type
exactly 45 pages. Well this fic is
exactly 20 pages on 12-point font. It
came close to my Kenshin fic.
Oh
yes, please tell me what you think and please send your stuff to http://www.geocities.com/little_hotti14 or [email protected] or [email protected]. Well have a nice week; now
I’ll be board till I get a new inspiration, oh, I’ll start on my sequel to His
First, you know in my Yu Yu Hakusho fan fiction. Oh yes, I like the colors!
