Living, Itai’s Story

            We find Li still sleeping on the moss.  Rin has curled up on Sesshomaru’s lap and Jaken is sleeping by a tree.  The night air is quiet and full of the scents of humans.  Li moved her head as she awoke.  She turned her head to face Sesshomaru and Rin.  She smiles at the sight of Sesshomaru letting Rin sleep in his lap.  The fire was beginning to go out and she didn’t want to disturb the two as she grabbed a shuriken and tried to get up.   Her back popped and she fell back in pain and tried to muffle her cries.  Sesshomaru twitched as she stared.  His head moved in the position to look at Li.

 

                        “You should let your back heal while you’re still able to rest.  Put away that shuriken and relax, but I am curious.  What were you going to do with that?”  Sesshomaru asked as she threw some wood onto the fire with out Rin waking up. 

 

                        The fire cracked and sparks flew from the red-hot cinders and landed on the moss beside Li.  She raised her hand and put it over the steaming cinder.  She flinched at the pain and then raised her hand.

 

                        “You look so peaceful there, I didn’t want to wake you.  I was going to fling it at the tree Jaken was sleeping at.  I was planning to get him to start the fire again.”  Li smiled as she put her hand back down on the ground.

 

                        Rin began to move and Sesshomaru put her down on the moss beside Li.  She turned over and yawned, not opening her eyes, and fell back asleep.  Li looked at her and smiled.

 

                        Sesshomaru chuckled to himself and got up.  The sun began to rise over the lake they were staying near.  The water shimmered with the colors of the new morning sun.  Dew drops on the grass slid down the leaves and left a shinning blade to glisten in the sun.  Li closed her eyes as she felt the warm rays of the sun dance across her face.  She opened them again to see Sesshomaru standing before her.  She looked up at him and smiled.  Sesshomaru picked up a rock and tossed it over to Jaken.  The toad woke up in pain as he tried to get the heavy rock off his foot.  Li chuckled as the little girl beside her began to stir.  She opened her eyes to see she was next to Li.  She stared at her.

 

                        “Rin, I didn’t mean to scare you.  That wasn’t me who was there.”  Li said as she laid still.

 

                        Jaken had finally gotten the rock off his foot when Sesshomaru threw another one onto him.  Rin chuckled as Jaken squirmed again and yelled in pain.  Sesshomaru kneeled down beside Li and Rin and put his right hand under Li’s upper back and lifted her carefully.  He felt her back crack and her head fell back in pain as she stifled another cry.  He put her back down and stood up.

 

                        “Guess we’ll be staying for a while.  You will not try to get up or move your back till it is properly healed.  Jaken…” He cast his glanced at the gasping toad demon.  “Get the three of us breakfast.  I don’t care what you get for yourself.”  Sesshomaru’s coldly stare sent Jaken running into the forest.

 

                        Li’s ears twitched as she heard footsteps.  She opened her eyes to the site of Inu Yasha and Kagome.  She looked up at Sesshomaru who had let his arms (his left arm was of a human) hang down to his sides.  Li once again tried to sit up but she fell back in excruciating pain, she was unable to muffle her cry now because her back has gotten sore from moving.

 

                        Kagome and Inu Yasha stopped a little ways back from them when Sesshomaru walked in front of Li and Rin.  Kagome stepped forward.

 

                        “Li, we came to see you.”  Kagome said. 

 

                        “Sesshomaru…let them talk.”  She said.

 

                        Sesshomaru stepped to the side and walked to a near by tree and leaned up next to it.  Kagome walked towards her and kneeled down next to her.

 

                        “How are you?”  Kagome asked.

 

                        Li looked up and then smiled.  “I’m fine, just can’t move for now. Huu?” Li looked back at Inu Yasha as his ears went flat against his head and growled.

 

                        “Inu Yasha, stop it.  We’re here to talk with Li, not to make trouble with your brother.”  Kagome said standing up.

 

                        “Sesshomaru…” Inu Yasha growled.

 

                        “Little brother still sore from last night.  If it wasn’t for you, Li would still be able to walk right now.”  Sesshomaru said trying to give Inu Yasha the guilt trip.  It worked.

 

                        “Listen here Sesshomaru, if you haven’t have rapped Li in the first place, she wouldn’t have protected you!”  Inu Yasha yelled.

 

                        “Wrap little brother.  She was full demon, not even she remembers what happened.  Isn’t that right Li?”  Sesshomaru said looking at her.

 

                        “Your conversation is with me!”  Inu Yasha yelled.

 

                        “SIT Inu Yasha!”  Kagome yelled as Inu Yasha hit the ground.

 

                        Li stared at him and then looked at Kagome, “You have to tell me where you got that thing so I can get one for my puppy.” 

                       

                        Kagome chuckled as she bent down to sit on the grass again.  “I didn’t really get it for him, he kinda got it when he tried to steel the Shikon Jewel from me.” 

 

                        “Oh.”  Li said.

 

                        “I’m not your puppy.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

                        “Oh, that reminds me.  Sessho and I are going to be coming with you on your journey.”  Li said as she smiled.  “Of course when my back’s better.”

 

                        Kagome and the dirt covered face Inu Yasha looked at one another.  “You both?”  They said in shock.

 

                        “Yes little brother, I agreed that I would try and get along with you for one month, Li said I could kill you if we didn’t get along.”  Sesshomaru said.  “Don’t call me Sessho also.”

 

                        “Yep, that’s right.  As soon as my backbone’s better.  We’ll be able to take care of the demons faster.”  Li said.

 

                        Inu Yasha got up and walked towards Li, he grabbed her kimono by the top and pulled her to her feet.  She cried in pain as Inu Yasha held her up, “What happens if I don’t get along with him in a month?”  Inu Yasha asked hoping for a new answer.

 

                        Li couldn’t talk because it felt like her back was ripping apart.  Her head fell back and she fiddled with her left Shuko.  She finally slipped it on and dug it across Inu Yasha’s face.  He let her go and she fell to the ground, now she wished she didn’t do that because it felt like white hot knives were slashing at her back.  Sesshomaru walked over and lifted her carefully and set her flat on the moss.  He turned to Inu Yasha and Kagome.

 

                        “Leave!”  His voice sent shivers down there back.

Kagome and Inu Yasha decided that they should leave and slowly walked back the way they came.  Kagome and Inu Yasha sat on a rock a little ways away so Kagome could look at the gash.  She took out some tape and gauze and began to wrap his head.  She yelled at Inu Yasha for what he did to Li and she wanted to yell it but she held back.  That was good for Inu Yasha.  He felt light headed and he didn’t want to be told sit at the moment.  Kagome seen that the gash wasn’t too deep so she knew he would heal soon.

 

                        They came back to the village when it started to get dark.  Sango had Miroku’s staff and was beating him over the head with it while Shippo sat and laughed.  Kagome chuckled as she came closer to them.  They looked up, Miroku flat on his back and Sango leaning on his staff.  Shippo was rolling on the top of the small hut.

 

                        “So, why were you so late?”  Miroku asked as he snatched his staff back from Sango and rubbed his head.

 

                        “Inu Yasha and I found Li.  She can’t move at the moment.  We’ll be seeing her again tomorrow.”  Kagome said as she smiled.

 

                        “What’s wrong Inu Yasha?”  Sango asked as Inu Yasha growled.

 

                        “Ya, and what happened?”  Shippo asked jumping down on Miroku’s head.

 

                        “Err!  Nothing’s wrong and it’s none of your business!”  Inu Yasha barked.

 

                        Kagome coldly stared at him and then smiled at the others, “Well, one thing, Li’s persuaded Sesshomaru to come with us for a month.  Inu Yasha didn’t like what she was saying and lifted her up.  If you remember last night, Inu Yasha’s sword tore her whole back up so she can’t move it.  When he wouldn’t let her down she dug one of her Shukos into his head.”  Kagome said.

 

                        “Sesshomaru…join us?”  Shippo asked in surprise.

 

                        “I know, Li said that she will take care of him.  He’ll have enough trouble with Li and Jaken if you know what I mean.”  Kagome said.

 

                        “Feh!”  Inu Yasha said as he walked off towards the forest.

 

                        ***

 

                        Li moved a bit as Rin curled up next to her to sleep.  She smiled and petted her head as Rin slept.  Sesshomaru sat by the fire as his face was lit up by the fire’s glow.  The fire cracked and provided comfortable warmth.  She sighed as she tried to force her self to sit up.  She could tell her back was healing up faster now and that it was at least together again.  Her lower back still creaked as she leaned up against the rock that was near her.  Sesshomaru looked over as she squinted her eyes and peered over at her him.

 

                        “I see you can at least sit.  How about walk?”  He smirked, as he already knew the answer.

 

                        “Are you kidding?  It was hard enough just to sit up!”  Li said staring at him.

 

                        “We’re leaving tomorrow, that’s what that girl said.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

                        “Well ok then, I’ll be able to walk in about a day or so.”  Li said as Rin began to move.

 

                        Sesshomaru smiled and looked back at the fire.  Li watched him and then stared at the fire.

 

                        “You know, you look much better when you smile.”  Li said as she patted Rin on the head.

 

                        Sesshomaru got up and sat next to her.  Li leaned her head down on him as he sat staring at the fire.

 

                        “I wonder what goes on in your head.  You always seem to be thinking about something.”  Li said as she closed her eyes to fall asleep.

 

                        Sesshomaru sat quietly and listened to the sound of Li and Rin sleeping.

                        The next morning, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, Inu Yasha, and Kagome set off to see Li.  They arrived mid morning and see Li sitting up at least.  She was sharpening some kind of metal into blades but looked like they attached to her arms.  Sesshomaru was standing above her pulling her up to stand.  She whimpered as she wobbled.  She couldn’t support herself yet.  Rin was playing when Jaken and her noticed them.  Sesshomaru turned to see them all most dropping her.

 

                        “Hey!  Don’t drop me!”  She said tightening her grip around his neck pulling him down.

 

                        He set her down gently and stood beside her.

 

                        “We can’t go this way.  You’re going to slow us down.”  Inu Yasha growled.

 

                        “I can walk, just got to get used to it again.”  Li said cocking her head to the side and squinting her eyes.

 

                        “We’re leaving.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

                        “Ouch!”  Li said as she slapped the side of her neck and looked at her hand.  “Ewe!  It’s a flea, don’t tell me I’m infested!”  Li said.

 

                        “No, no, I’m sorry, I thought you were M’Lord Inu Yasha.”  Miyoga said as he looked up at her.

 

                        “Well, Inu Yasha has white hair and doesn’t have breasts.”  She said as she flicked the demon at Inu Yasha.

 

                        “M’Lord, on my travels, I’ve came a crossed a poison demon who is seeking this girl.”  Miyoga said.

 

                        Li looked up.

 

                        “This demon is looking for some half breed as your self.  He says that she has the power of speed and fire.”  He finished.

 

                        Li gasped, “What did this demon look like?”

 

                        “He was as tall as M’Lord and had platinum hair with black streaks in it.”  Miyoga said.

 

                        “Err!  Itai!”  Li said she clenched her fists.

 

                        “You mean the guy who poisoned your brother?”  Kagome asked.

 

                        “Ya, I also believed he might have killed my mother and father.”  Li said.

 

                        “You can control fire?”  Shippo asked.

 

                        “I guess I can, here...” Li said as she held out her hand and it began to spark.  A small light got bigger and it turned into a ball and then disappeared.  “I remember I use to burn a lot of stuff when I was younger.  Itai, Ryuu, and I lived with each other.  You could say that Itai and I were in love.  But after he poisoned Ryuu, I saw who he really was.”

 

                        “So, I guess you were a runaway then.”  Miroku said.

 

                        “Yes, I didn’t want Ryuu to be around him.”  Li said.

 

                        “Let’s get going, it’s clear that we’re going to meet him sooner or latter.  We’ll get revenge for what he did to your little brother.”  Inu Yasha said as he began to walk in the direction of the sun.

 

                        “How are you going to move Li?”  Sango asked.

 

                        “It’s kinda embarrassing.”  Li said as Sesshomaru stepped in front of her.

 

                        He turned around and kneeled on the ground as Li climbed onto his back and wrapped her arms around his neck.

 

                        “I feel helpless this way.”  Li said as they began to walk.

 

                        The others stared.

Rin followed between them and Jaken in back.  Li had her chin on Sesshomaru’s shoulder.  Everyone walked in silence as rain clouds began to form in the sky.  Kagome brought out her umbrella and shared it with Inu Yasha, Rin, and Shippo as Miroku and Sango shared her Hiraikotsu for shelter from the rain.  Li had Li for some shelter but Li had none.

 

                        “I think we should find shelter.”  Sesshomaru suggested.

 

                        “We haven’t gone to far today!”  Inu Yasha complained.

 

                        “We don’t have to rest, I’m fine.”  Li said as she began to shiver.

 

                        “You’re shivering.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

                        She squeezed his neck; “I’ve been in colder condition then this Sessho.”

 

                        “Sessho?”  Inu Yasha said and began to laugh.

 

                        “Shut up dog boy!”  Li yelled.  “I bet Kagome calls you puppy or something like that.”

 

                        “Feh!  She doesn’t have a nick name for me dog girl.”  Inu Yasha barked back.

 

                        “That’s right!”  Li said as she smiled behind Inu Yasha’s back from that comment.

 

                        “Well, Inu Yasha, I do think the name puppy matches you.  I still have to train you though.”  The others chuckled.

 

                        “I guess you do have a nick name, besides dog boy.”  Li teased.

 

                        ***

 

                        Li fell asleep on Sesshomaru’s back while she was still shivering.  It began to quit and the sun was going down over the horizon.  The night approached and the others were getting tired.  They found a cave to sleep in and Sesshomaru and Li sat down in a small corner.  Li still shivered when they started the fire.  She changed into something else and Sesshomaru let her lean up against him and let her wrap his fluffy thing around her.  Rin slept between them and Li started to stretch her legs.  She was going to try and walk tomorrow morning.  The others slept close to the fire, and Sango with Miroku’s staff.  Every time he’d come to close to her she would wack him over the head.  Jaken slept near the door under Sesshomaru’s orders, Inu Yasha slept leaning up against the cave wall and Kagome sat next to him leaning on his shoulder.  Shippo slept with Kilala next to the fire and Li began to move.

 

                        ***

 

                        The forest was dark and was lit by the stars and the moon.  Li sat in a tree cradling Ryuu’s little head.  He slept as a boy walked under them.  He smiled up at them and jumped up behind her.  He wrapped his arm around her and kissed her fore head.  She smiled as he spoke into her ear, “We’ll be together, just you, me, and little Ryuu.  No one ever will separate us.” 

 

                        Li smiled as she leaned up against him. 

 

                        ***

 

                        The next morning, Li woke up before the others and actually got up onto her feet.  At first her back pooped and she froze.  She needed to get used to it so that they wouldn’t think she was weak.  She was the exact opposite, she was stubborn, and she got mad really easy.  She finally moved her feet and began to shuffle across the cave floor.  She was able to get outside in about five minutes.  She began to move her legs normally and then tried to run she wasn’t able to do that yet, she fell backwards and was caught by someone.  She looked up to see the smiling face of Miroku.

 

                        “Oh, did I wake you?”  Li asked trying to balance herself but fell back again.

 

                        “No, I woke up a bit ago.”  Miroku said as he stood her up.

 

                        “How’d you get your staff back…?”  Li asked starring at his evil grin.  “Pervert!”  She said under her breath.

 

                        “No, no, I just gave her a stick to hold onto so she wont notice till she wakes up.  Owe, those bumps still hurt.”  Miroku said rubbing the left side of his head.

 

                        “You should behave like a gentleman than.  You can probably get a girl to like you if your so called wandering hands would stop wandering.”  Li said slapping his hands away from her.  “You know, you are nice and all, but you are just to touchy!”  Li said; yet again slapping his hands away.

 

                        “Ahe…” Miroku said scratching the back on his head and a nervous smile crossed his face.

 

                        The others began to stir and come out of the cave.  Li started a fire so Kagome could cook those ramen noodles.  Meanwhile Li practiced walking and then running.  Her back still caused her pain and she hid it well.  She was able to run again when the noodles were ready.  After eating, the gang set off again.

                        The gang had nothing hardly to talk about and Sango still had that stick in her hands.  Miroku noted not to stand to close to her for the safety of his head.  It began to get dark and slight smells blew in the cool summer’s breeze.

 

                        Soon, Li stopped as she held her nose.  The others stopped and turn to face her.  “What’s wrong Li?”  Kagome asked.

 

                        “I can smell poison.  I know this type, it belongs to Itai.”  Li said as she walked forward.  “I believe that we will be seeing him tonight.”

 

                        The stars began to appear one by one as the sun began to set below the trees.  Li’s ears began to twitch with every sound.  She finally stopped and pulled out a long bag and pulled out the two blades she was working on yesterday morning.  She put one on her arm and pulled it up a little past her elbow.  She did the same with the others.  They were backwards because the cutting side faced behind her.

 

                        “What are those?”  Inu Yasha asked.

 

                        “These are to help defeat Itai.  He is also fast and attacks unexpectedly.  He is very quiet and can sneak up on you.  Even with our sensitive hearing.”  Li said pulling the other blade onto the other arm.

 

                        The others stared as the wind blew more rapidly.  Suddenly, Inu Yasha was knocked forward and then to the side.

 

                        “He’s here.”  Li said getting into a fighting stance.  “Kagome, take Rin and get her out of this place.  I don’t want her hurt.”  Li said.

 

                        “Err!  Stop running around and show yourself!”  Inu Yasha yelled as he regained balanced.

 

                        “Feh, I’ve shown myself the whole time.  You just don’t know how to look.”  A soft voice said from behind Li.

 

                        Li jumped and turned, she stepped back being careful not to touch anyone.

 

                        “I see you have brought friends, tell me, why isn’t your younger brother with you?  Ryuu wasn’t it?”  He asked smiling.

 

                        “Stop it, you killed him with your poison!”  Li yelled.

 

                        “On accident, I could have cured him if you didn’t leave.  I never wanted to hurt you or your little brother.”  He said, still smiling.

 

                        “Why are you smiling?  You don’t mean anything you say do you?”  Li said yelling at him.

 

                        “Dear, dear Li.  You always were the stubborn one, never wanted to see the things that were right in front of your face.”  Itai said.

 

                        “Don’t dear me!”  Li barked as she breathed harder.

 

                        “Fine, huu?”  He said as Sesshomaru ran towards him and held his whip in his hands.  “Uh uhh.  You’ll have your turn to die.”  Itai said as he moved out of his way. 

 

                        Sesshomaru moved as fast as Itai as the two dueled.  Itai had drawn a small dagger like sword and was wrapping poison into it so he could try and kill Sesshomaru quickly.  Sesshomaru used his human arm to distract him as he tried to jab him with his poison claws.  Itai dodged each one and successfully stabbed Sesshomaru a couple of times in the stomach.  Itai had also gotten a few scratches but that was about it.  Itai smirked as he took his dagger and shoved it into Sesshomaru’s stomach.

 

                        “He can’t win this way…” Li said staring blankly at Itai and Sesshomaru’s fight.  “…Itai’s able to predict Sesshomaru’s attack.  Itai is just toying with him.” 

 

                        “What do you mean, if Sesshomaru can’t beat him with brut strength then we don’t have a chance!”  Inu Yasha barked and watched his older brother lose a fight.  “I’ll just use the wind scare.”  Inu Yasha said taking out his Tetsusaiga.

 

                        “Don’t!  You’ll kill Sessho too.”  Li said garbing a hold of the blade as blood slid down her hands to her fingertips.

 

                        “Well then what do we do then, he’ll be killed either way.”  Inu Yasha said.

 

                        “Well then, if you wish to kill Itai and keep Sessho alive, then I suggest you help.”  Li said.

 

                        “Why don’t we help him?”  Inu Yasha glared.

 

                        “I will wait till he’s weakened.  I plan to kill Itai myself.”  Li said.

 

                        Sesshomaru hit the ground and Sango’s boomerang flew towards them.  Itai jumped and with his dagger like sword, he split the thing in two.

 

“You think wood can hurt me silly girl, humans, sleep!”  He said as he held up his hand and poison came towards them.  Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Rin covered their mouths and fell to the ground. 

 

“This poison will just make them sleep.” Li said.

 

                        “I’m not waiting, I’m using the wind scar.”  Inu Yasha said as he pulled out Tetsusaiga.

 

                        “It won’t work.”  Li said as Inu Yasha swung his sword.

 

                        The blade unleashed its power and flew towards Itai. He looked up and scoffed.  “That’s unpredictable, but it won’t stop me.”  Itai leaped above it and then ran towards Inu Yasha.  “I’ll have fun with you and then my sweet, I’ll talk with you.

 

                        Li jumped back as Itai hit the ground.  He turned around sharply and tripped Inu Yasha.  Inu Yasha dropped Tetsusaiga and dived for it.

 

                        “Forget about it Inu Yasha, just use your fists and feet!”  Li said as she jumped back.

 

                        “Shut up!  I’ll fight this my way.”  Inu Yasha said.

 

                        “You’re gona get your self killed!”  Li said.

 

                        “I said shut up!”  Inu Yasha said as he grabbed Tetsusaiga and blocked Itai’s dagger from piercing him.

 

                        Itai’s dagger like sword flew and Itai jumped back.  Inu Yasha kicked him off of himself and got back onto his feet.

 

“That’s it, I’m not toying anymore.  Poison stinger!”  He yelled as hit hand jabbed into Inu Yasha’s arm.

 

“Err!”  Inu Yasha growled as he held his arm.

 

Itai ran forward and picked up his dagger like sword and plunged it deep into his chest.

 

“Stop!  Don’t kill him!”  Li yelled as she took her arm blades and charged. 

 

Inu Yasha lay helplessly on the ground as blood seeped through his wound.  Itai took his dagger and sliced at the blade.  The blade broke as he grabbed her around the stomach and shoved her against a tree.  The others helplessly watched as he pulled the blades off her arms and threw them to the ground.  “Naughty, naughty, you can hurt someone with those things.”  He made her face him and held her shoulders.    He pressed his lips against hers for a long deep kiss.  Li stood there doing nothing as he raised his hands to her cheeks and deepened the kiss.  He slowly pulled back as he stared at her.  Both breathing hard.  “I have been looking all over for you.  You are right; I did kill your brother.  I had too, cause see, it was only supposed to be you and me.”  Itai’s had moved down her body.  Li stood there against the tree with her eyes closed.  He slowly began to kiss her neck.  She began to laugh.  “What do find so funny.”

 

“It’s you.”  She said laughing.

 

“I know you hate me,” Itai said smiling, “after killing your entire family.”

 

“Hhe, after all you put me through, you think I despise you, but in the end, I want to thank you, cause you made me that much stronger.”  Li smirked.

 

Well I thought I knew you/ Thinkin’ that you were true/ Guess I, I couldn’t trust called your bluff, time is up cause I had enough/ You were, there by my side/ Always, down for the ride/ But your, joy ride just came down in flames cause your greed sold me out in shame/ Hmm/

 

After all of the stealing and cheating you probably think that I hold resentment for you/ Uh uh, oh no/ Your wrong/ Cause if it wasn’t for all that you tried to do/ I wouldn’t know/ How capable, I am to pull through/ So I wanna say thank you

 

Cause it makes me that much stronger/ Makes work a little bit harder/ Makes me that much wiser/ So thanks for making me a fighter/ Made me learn a little bit faster/ Made my skin a little thicker/ Makes me that much smarter/ So thanks for making me a fighter

Li smirked as her right arm dripped with blood and something covered in it slip down the back of her arm.  Itai’s dagger like sword plunged through his stomach. 

 

“You!”  Itai said as he froze.  His flesh began to melt around the blade.  “What-what’s happening?”  He said in surprise.

 

“You forget I can control fire, I put it into the blade and soon you will combust.”  Li said as she leaned up to kiss him on the lips.  “You lost.”

 

Itai looked down and his body combusted.  Li wiped her face and licked her lips.  The others were able to move and stared at her.  She dropped the blade and walked towards Sesshomaru.  She kneeled down next to him and helped him up.  His demonic blood healed his body fast so there was no hole.  She sat beside him leaning on his shoulder.

 

Sesshomaru looked at Li and then to the others.  Rin ran up beside them, she had not seen what had happened.  Sesshomaru noticed that she was leaning against him and his arm was around her.  She had no emotion in her face and had her eyes closed leaning up against him.  He moved her a bit, “How are you?”  He asked.

 

“I’m ok, I’m just tired.  Sessho, are you ok?”  She asked holding him against her.

 

“I’m fine, but please let go.  Li, I know we did some things in the past, but I will not think of you as a spouse.  I decided this because it will never work.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

“I could tell.”  Li said as she took her arm away.  “I’ll be leaving soon.  I can’t stay, not after what I just did.”  Li said.

 

“You don’t have to go.  You got your revenge for your family.”  Sesshomaru said.

 

Inu Yasha slowly walked over to the two, Sango, Kagome, Miroku, Shippo, and Kilala also followed him.  They sat around Li and Sesshomaru.  They sat in quiet as they thought about what happened.  Rin had curled up on Sesshomaru’s lap.  Jaken finally came out of hiding and was hit with a rock for it.  The others slowly got up and set camp up by a river.  They cleaned their bodies and then fell asleep.

 

Li sat on a rock staring at the sunrise when it began to peak over the horizon.  A tap on her shoulder startled her.  She turned to see Miroku and she moved to let him sit down.  “What are you doing up so early?”  Miroku asked.

 

“I was about to ask you that, I stayed up.  I couldn’t sleep, not after last night.”  Li said.

 

“Are you ok?”  Miroku asked.

 

“I don’t think so.”  Li said.

 

He raised his arm and put it around Li. She put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.  Unknowing of his wondering hands.

 

“I’ll help you through.”  Miroku said lowering his hand.

 

“Thank you Miroku.”  Li said as the sun became visible over the horizon.

 

“You’re welcome.”  He said smiling.

 

Li sat still reaching her had towards her bag.  She grabbed the broken blade.  WACK!

 

“Owe!”  Miroku said.

 

“Serves you right you lecher!”  Li yelled as she stormed off towards camp to get some sleep.

 

Inu Yasha a Kagome smiled as Kagome finally finished bandaging Inu Yasha’s chest.
