The Talusian Continent was full of wild cats and wild dogs that had often dominated the forest and plains of the doomed landmass. It is believed that when the Fallen Lord used his magic to break apart and sink the landmass, the same magic also mutated the wild cats, changing them forever into a race of sentient upright beings with human like intelligence yet cat senses. The Cathar survived the sinking by escaping the rushing waters climbing up to the peaks of the Talusian Mountains, which now exist only as a chain of islands. When rescue teams came from Asteria and neighboring lands some of the Cathar went with them and are slowly populating themselves all over Mythus.
