Racial Information

Basic History

Turtalians are a very scattered and small race, with a very peaceful history. No one knows how long turtalians have been around, nor do turtalians care how they were created. They just live day by day.

Positives/Negatives

Turtalians possess great strength and a strong natural defense, which only double in their turtle form. However they are somewhat heavy, and slow on land, yet quiet masterful swimmers. Contrary to popular belief, turtalians cannot breath underwater. They can however hold their breath for long periods of time.

Reproduction

All turtalians come in only two genders, male and female. turtalians can mate with other turtalians of the opposite gender, but will not mate with other races. They mate following a normal mating process, and if lucky, the female turtalian becomes pregnant. There is a 40% chance the female will conceive her first set after mating. The chance drops by 10% after every set (60%=1st set, 50%=2nd set, 40%= 3rd set...etc).Turtalians lay eggs to reproduce children, and can only reproduce while in their turtle form. After conceiving, the female will quickly lay a number of eggs, the number to be decided by the roll of a 1d12. The female will then bury her eggs under sand or dirt, near a body of water, and leave them. At the end of the 5 months, the children will begin to hatch. There is a 12% chance per egg that the child will not hatch and thus die. After the child is hatched their survival depends on their own ability to quickly adjust to their environment. They are born in human form.

Lifespan

Turtalians have only one cycle o life which last fro birth until death. At the point of birth they are considered full fledge turtalians and must learn quickly how to survive and use their natural skills. Most take to the water to survive and survival for a young turtalian is extremely unlikely (a 60 % chance of death). If the turtalian can learn all of his skills needed to survive his chances increase dramatically. They do not fear death as they are faced with it every day, and simply see death as just another fact of life.

Appearance

Turtalians in human form have broad shoulder and a somewhat large build. Their skin is rough and their backbone is over developed. They bear no hair whatsoever and have pale blue eyes. In turtle form they resemble large turtles.

Living Habitat

Turtalians can be found in the wetlands and seas, lakes, and rivers. Turtalians travel mainly to populate and search for new homes.

Food & Sleeping Requirements

They require 1 meal a day of fungi and small fish and water, and require 1 cycle of sleep a week, or risk fatigue (-10 endurance per missed cycle).
