Basic History

Liontaurs have for ages been rivals of the adolfites. For a long time each have raided each others tribe, went to war against each other, and despised one another. Liontaurs however have had very little effect in the history of Mythus, except the fact that one of their kind had become one of Zodos vile knights of order.

Positives/Negatives

Liontaurs are strong and noble beings, full of pride and valor. They have the strength of a lion, however they have the pride of one too, and often their ego and desire or control can get the best of them.

Reproduction

All liontaurs come in only two genders, male and female. Liontaurs can mate with any other any other liontaur of an opposite gender, but will not mate outside their race, and rarely will mate outside their tribe. They mate following a normal mating process, and if lucky, the female liontaur becomes pregnant. There is a 60% chance the female will conceive her litter after mating. The chance drops by 10% after every litter (60%=1st litter, 50%=2nd litter, 40%= 3rd litter...etc).Pregnancy last for 3 months. The first month, known as the Honeymoon, is an enjoyable month. The second until delivery is known as the Great Strife, is full of day-long sickness, back-aches, and dizzy spells. There is a 35% chance the female elf will die during this stage. At the end of the 3rd month the litter is delivered with hours of pushing. There is a 20% chance of death mother, and a 10% chance of death per child of the entire litter. The genders of the children are random and the number of the litter is decided by rolling a 1d8.

Lifespan

Liontaurs have two stages of life. The first stage, cub, last from birth until 60 (Human Equivalent Age of 15). During this stage the young liontaur grows and develops its many skills needed for survival. The young liontaur stays at home during this stage. The liontaur also learns hunting and tracking skills during this stage. The final stage, adulthood, last from 60 until death. To be accepted as an adult, and a member of the liontaur clan in which the liontaur was born into, the liontaur must undergo a long and difficult trial. Those who do not succeed, die. The trial is of course different for male and female, and varies amongst the various liontaur tribes. It is also during this stage that an liontaur may find a spouse. According to liontaur custom, the male must win the love of his hopeful mate by challenging and besting her other hopeful mates. If there are no other contestants for the female, then it is decided that the female is unfit to be mated and sent into exile. Death come naturally and expectantly to the liontaur. They hate the idea of death, seeing it as them losing control of their life, and a force that takes everything from them. Near the time of their death they will often go into a bitter rage, angered that death is coming and they have no way of stopping it. Some even kill themselves, desiring to be in control of ones death.

Appearance

Liontaurs are large and big boned. In human form males have well developed beards, typically of a reddish color, and blondish, to reddish hair, usually bushy and somewhat mangled. Females have long slender blonde or red hair and are slender and built . In lion form they resemble large lions.

Living Habitat

Liontaurs can be found in the plains away from civilizations. They rarely make homes in the forests. Liontaurs will only travel to prove one's self or for the tribe.

Food & Sleeping Requirements

Liontaurs require 1 meal a day, of anything that is meat, and water, and require one cycle of sleep a night, or risk fatigue (-5 endurance per missed cycle).
