Racial Information

Brief History

Dwarves were always treated as an inferior and harmless race by Zodo, and thus were never hunted down. Therefore, besides their fights with humans and elves, dwarves have lived a basically peaceful live.

Positives/Negatives

Dwarves are usually short and a bit chubby, so its hard to imagine there being any advantages. But there are. Dwarves have a natural immunity to all types of poison. That means, with any poison used against them, whether it be a potion, spell, or whatever, there is a chance that it will not affect them. Each different dwarf class has a different level of immunity. Also these short people have a lot of strength built up inside of them. And being so short, they can fit into places that other races cannot. But being short does have its disadvantages. Dwarves are slow and clumsy. They tend to be the last one to move in battle, unless accompanied by an ogre, and have a hard time doing normal task such as carrying multiple things in their arms and climbing.

Reproduction

All dwarves come in only two genders, male and female. Dwarves can mate with other dwarves or humans of the opposite gender. When one dwarf mates with a dwarf of a different class, for example a gray dwarf mating with a mountain dwarf, they produce what is commonly known as a mutt. When a dwarf mates with a human, they produce a halfling. They mate following a normal mating process, and if lucky the female conceives a child. There is a 40 % chance for a female dwarf to become pregnant after mating. A dwarfs pregnancy last 2 years. During the first year the female dwarf feels very relaxed and good. During the second year, however, the female dwarf experiences severe back pain, abdominal cramping, leg cramps, headaches, fatigue, breast soreness, nausea and vomiting, and sleeplessness. During the second year there is 20 % chance that the female dwarf will die. At the end of the second year, the female dwarf experience an eight hour long labor and finally the baby is born. There is a 30 % chance the female dwarf will die at labor, and a 45 % chance that the baby will die at birth. The gender of the baby is random and not known until birth. During the first year of life, the baby dwarf has a 30 % chance of death. After the first year the baby is fine. A female dwarf can only conceive one child in her lifetime.

Lifespan

Dwarves have two stages of life, childhood and adulthood. Childhood, which last from birth until 80 (human equivalent of 10), the child is completely dependent of his/her parents for every need. This is the stage the dwarf learns to take care of himself. During adulthood, which last from 81 until death, the dwarf leaves his parents and tries to make his own way in the world. Dwarves can still depend on their parents, in fact dwarves usually live very close to their parents. A dwarf usually doesnt search for a wife until he is 128 (human equivalent of 16). Female dwarves die 100 years before male dwarves, basically because of the childbirth process that takes so much energy from them. If a female does not ever conceive a child, the female will live to be the same age as the male dwarf. When a dwarf reaches their max age, they die of a severe stroke.

Food & Sleeping Requirements

Dwarves must have 4 meals each day consisting of meat and fungus, and drink rum with each meal. They must sleep at least 1/2 a cycle or they will suffer from fatigue (-5 from endurance per missed sleep cycle).
