Learning By Doing
Hello and Welcome to Six Stringz Graphic Creations. I have now become not only an HTML 101 Instructor but, also a HTML 201 Advanced Instructor. Proud to have made it and learned. My instructing has been going well and I have had excellent students and allot of fun teaching them. They have all done rather well and it has been a great joy working with them all.
On March 19th, 2004 I received the Golden Web Award for my site. I am very honored to be a recipient of this award. On March 8th, 2004 I became a WebTech U HTML 101 Instructor. I have been using computers for quite some time now. Mainly I used them for writing glorified letters and making graphics using JASC's Paint Shop Pro. I have been reading books on designing your own website for about a year and none have really helped me as much as WebTech University free online classes. After signing up for the free classes for HTML and CSS I have learned more than what I was getting from books I read. You know the ones that jump you from Chapter to Chapter instead of just showing you how something is done so you can put it all together without getting confused.
Well, as you can see from taking these classes by looking at this page you can see what can be done with imagination and help from friends. I priced having a website done one time and the cost was outrageous in my opinion. I know it takes time to code your own HTML and CSS but, the company I talked to was using a WYSIWIG Program. I have found that I would personally rather understand the code and be able to have more control over my designs of pages then to have it done by a WYSIWIG Program. It is also advantageous and saves money when you can take the time to learn how to do it yourself. I understand not everyone has the time to do this but, for those of you who don't make sure you do not pay to much for a website. Shop around for prices first and find the best deal.
Although sometimes doing it yourself is not a good idea. LOL!
The first web page design I did was not that good but, I made it by trying and not giving up on learning how it was done. I enjoy learning about HTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and find it's fun to learn and use once you get the basics down. Everybody has to start somewhere. So check out WebTech University and see what they have to offer. My rating of this site and the Instructors is way beyond Excellent.
You do not need any fancy software to hand code your own HTML or make your own Cascading Style Sheets. Both can be done using Windows Notepad. That is what I started using when I first began. Now, I use CSE HTML Validator PRO and Tops Style Pro 3 by Bradsoft Software. These two Programs work great together and I find the learning curve for both fairly easy. Top Style Pro has a nice Tutorial with the software to help get you started. CSE HTML Validator PRO has a great HTML Validator and can work with Top Style Pro for checking your CSS Styles and then you get both validated and keep your site up to par.
Why Pay Someone Else when you can do it yourself. Right?
Now I've successfully completed Web Tech University classes. Where they offer free courses in HTML and PSP. I'm still learning. We never stop doing this our whole lives through. We learn something new everyday. I have taken the HTML 101, HTML 201, Tables, Forms, Frames, HTML301, CSS, PSP 101 and currently working on the PSP 201 Class.
I will be applying for a position at WebTech University to become an Instructor for HTML 101 and will let you know if I get accepted. I would enjoy teaching others how to make their own web sites and show them how fun it can be. Besides you cannot beat the cost of the classes, FREE!!! The only cost is your time, you have nothing to lose except your sanity lol. As you can see, I am proud to say I am now a WebTech University HTML 101 Instructor.
