Sung From The Heart
Chapter 10: History Or What?
"Remember this is due on Friday!" said the History teacher to his class.
As most of them of them rushed out of the room, glad that it was the weekend, one certain girl slowly packed up her things.
Unknown or ignorant to the fact, this girl was one of the most wanted in the high school. Many of the male population would do anything to get her. But none of them seemed lucky in getting her attention. It seemed like she was waiting for certain someone. But even she didn't know who that was.
Many boys drooled over her figure and her attitude. Constantly happy and energetic Kinomoto Sakura was a prize indeed. With her unusual green eyes, love of the colour pink, athlete and cheerleader abilities, she was an "untouchable" in the eyes of all the guys.
Carrying her pink backpack, she headed towards home after remembering that the cheerleading team were having a rest. Pondering about the assignment that she had to do, she knew that her father should know. Satisfied, she entered her home and went up stairs to unpack her bag.
Knowing she wouldn't have much time later on in the week because of her tight schedule, she took out a pink notebook and started on her assignment. Sensei had asked for a family tree for five generations back. Heading downstairs to find her father, she passed her overprotective brother, Touya while he watched the news.
"Hey Kaijuu! What are you doing?" he said, trying to annoy her with the nickname.
"Kaijuu ja nani! And for your information, I'm asking otou-san about our family," said Sakura, slightly pissed off.
Ignoring her brother, she entered her dad's study.
"Otou-san?" she asked, seeing her father writing a report on his most recent historical dig. Putting his pen down, Fujitaka looked at his 15 year old daughter. Smiling, he asked what she wanted.
"Well Otou-san, Sensei Aruida said we have to find out five generations of our family," said Sakura, smiling back.
"Hmmmm, well let's see. There's Ruby-san, Rira-san, Sanyo-san, Rhuiri-san, Amiya-san, Eliod-san and then" said Fujitaka, thinking back.
Sakura was jotting these names down when a particular name came up.
"And there's Touya-san"
"Touya-san?" asked Sakura, inquisitively.
"Yes, in fact he's your great great grandfather and he had a sister called Sakura. Just like you," said, Fujitaka, a frown on his face.
"Oh" said Sakura, quite dazed. For some reason, she could remember hearing a story about her great great grandaunt.
Then letting her father continue in his speech of who was in the Kinomoto family tree, she pushed the thought aside and kept writing.

A few weeks later
"Bye Sakura! Hope you have a great birthday!" called Suzie as she went out the front door.
"Bye and thanks!" replied Sakura as she closed the door and leaned on it.
Tired from a fun and long sweet sixteen-birthday party, she smiled with happiness at all of her friends who had come to wish her a happy birthday.
Heading up to her room, she closed the bedroom door and turned to her desk, which was piled with gifts. A teddy, jewellery, some new outfits from her best friend Tomoyo, flowers and other trinkets. Putting them all carefully away in her cupboard, she paused when she held a plainly covered present.
Wrapped in plain brown paper with string to tie it together, she couldn't remember who had given it to her. Puzzled and slightly curious what was inside, she slowly pulled the parcel's string and unwrapped the brown paper parcel to uncover
A letter and a necklace that had a key pendant on it.
Mystified, she took out the letter to read it in the dim light of the setting sun by her window. After eagerly reading a couple of lines, she dried the tears that fell from her face. It read
My dearest darling,
Today's your sixteenth birthday and I would like to say happy birthday. Be true to your heart and believe in your self. Take care of your father and Touya. Here is something I got when I was sixteen. Now I pass it on to you. It's a key to your heart. Hopefully it will unlock all of life's mysteries to you. I love you and don't worry. I'll be watching all of you.
Nadeshiko
Crying for the mother she didn't really know, she dried all of her tears and put the letter gently down. Taking up the key necklace, she stared at it. Looking at the simple chain, she fingered the small key attached to it. Then feeling a bit better, she put it on.
Looking in her mirror, she admired the twinkle it seemed to give off. Then feeling tired, she lay down on her bed and fell asleep to relieve the day's exhaustion.

"Touya, you get the basement while Sakura gets the attic, while I do the house."
As the siblings headed off to their cleaning assignments, Fujitaka headed off to the bedrooms.
When Sakura got to the attic, she immediately sighed.
'Geez, dad wasn't joking when he said the attic was dusty,' she thought looking at the dust-covered room. She guessed no one had been up here for years.
'Oh well, better get started,' she thought, starting to dust things.
~*~
2 hours later
"Finally all these things are dusted!" Sakura said, glad that there wasn't anything else to dust. Inspecting the trunks and cases she moved in between them. Suddenly, she felt a wiggle at her neck. Feeling that area, she discovered her key was gone!
Click!
Went something in the corner of the room. Walking over to there, she slowly approached to see a red chest with its lid open. In the keyhole was her key. Golden unknown figures were painted on and for some reason she could read it. It read "Sakura". Quickly shutting the queer chest, she carried it to her room, trying not to be seen by her dad and Touya.
Shutting her door behind her, she quickly locked it. Then putting the chest onto the floor, she opened it again. Inside were many things. Tapes, photos and a old worn bear. And there was an unusual book called Clow. Putting the other things down, she lifted up the heavy book and opened it.
A blindingly brilliant light almost blinded her. Then suddenly a lion appeared. Dropping the book, she pushed herself away from the yawning lion. Huddled up against the wall, she cowered as the lion approached her. It suddenly talked.
"I am the great golden Keroberus, guardian of the Clow Cards, " it rumbled, stepping closer.
"And you are?"
Slowly taking her hands from her face, she looked at the great beast.
It stepped back in astonishment.
"Sakura?!?"
Before anything could be said, a white figure appeared from the window.
"Yue!" said, the winged lion, lunging towards the figure.

Next day
After Yue and Kero had explained everything like the cards the day before, Sakura pondered about it as she sat down at her usual seat. Sitting in her English class, she leaned over to Tomoyo who was next to her. But before anything could be said between the two, they were interrupted by the sensei.
"We have a new student here today. He is an exchange student from China so please make him welcome. Hmmmmmm, where shall we put you?"
Then a chocolate-brown haired boy stepped from the hallway. Immediately most of the girls started drooling. Emerald eyes twinkling, Sakura called out.
"Sensei, he can sit behind me," she said, feeling a bit sorry for the guy being stared at by the girls.
As the boy headed silently towards the seat behind her, she felt a twinge.
'This seems so familiar' she thought to herself.
Then as the lesson started, she turned around and smiled at the boy.
"Hi, my name is Kinomoto Sakura," she said looking into his amber eyes.
"Li Syaoran," he replied, concentration on the sensei.
Ayt folks, here's Chapter 11!!
