Sung From The Heart
Chapter 8: End Of The Tunnel
"It's been a while since I was here," Syaoran thought to himself as he went down the steps of the plane. Many cherry blossoms greeted him as the wind blew calmingly. Sniffing the sweet scent of the blossoms in April, he waited at the airport front for a taxi.
Sitting in the warm taxi and directing the driver where to go, he pondered how to approach Sakura. Rummaging around in his bag, he gently pulled out an old worn bear. Ignoring the look the driver gave him, he held it up to his face and cuddled it. Breathing in the cherry blossom scent, it brought back all of his happiest childhood memories.
Quick flashes like him and Sakura playing on the swings while Tomoyo taped with a grin on her face while Eriol watched from a nearby tree. He for once had a small smile on his face.
Another one was of his and Sakura laughing on the grass looking at the starry sky. Remembering all the fun they had together with Yamazaki and all of the girls. Bathing at the beach and the parties at Tomoyo. Even pictures of Meilin tagging along holding onto his arm gave him a smile while in the taxi.
"Mister, we're here," said the driver, knocking Syaoran out of old memories. Paying and thanking the driver, he put back the teddy bear and walked up the driveway. Once again admiring the lovely topiaries and hedges, he looked up at Tomoyo's mansion. (A.N. You guys thought it was Sakura's house! Ha ha!) Pushing the doorbell, he waited as it echoed though the big hall.
"Yes, may I help you?" asked the butler, stiffly.
"I would like to see Miss Tomoyo," Syaoran answered, his blank.
"Of course, please come this way," he said, leading Syaoran into the luxurious hallway.
After walking into the formal lounge, the stiff butler said, " Wait, right here," before he walked out to find Tomoyo.

Tapping her fingers to the beat of the music playing from Tomoyo's radio, Sakura continued chatting to Tomoyo while her friend went through her wardrobe frantically.
"Ohhhhhh!!!!! I can't find it!!!!!" shrieked Tomoyo almost pulling all of her lovely hair out.
"I've lost the new outfit!!!!!" she said going through her drawers before whooping with joy and hugging a plastic covered bundle.
Sakura sweat dropped.
Then Tomoyo shoved Sakura and the bundle into the en-suite bathroom. Then as she tapped her feet impatiently, she answered the door. Her butler stood in front of her and reported that she had a visitor.
Calling to Sakura to come into the formal lounge, she exited the clothes scattered room. Then walking down the long hallway, she came to the elegant formal lounge.
Then she stopped.
"Syaoran!?!" she whispered, astonished that he was here.
"Sakura's here! She's really upset" said Tomoyo, sitting down.
Then waltzing into the formal lounge, Sakura twirled before she looked at who was here.
"Tomoyo, this outfit is sooo sugoi!" laughed Sakura before stopping.
Seeing those fierce amber eyes, she quailed and sat down.
"Syaoran What are you doing here?" she uttered in a soft whisper, which Tomoyo and Syaoran had to strain to hear.
"I came back, to see you," he answered, lifting her face.
Tomoyo smiled and quietly crept away while the two of them stared at each other.
"Where's Sally?" Sakura asked, looking at the window.
"I broke up with her," Syaoran said, softly.
Darting her eyes to his, she whispered.
"Why?" before she looked away again.
"Because I still love you" he said, coming closer and holding her face towards his. As a look of pure love shone in his eyes, she felt totally and utterly confused. Suddenly wrenching away, she ran out of the room and into the corridors, heading towards the door.
Taken aback, Syaoran just stood there for a few seconds blinking. Then regaining his senses, he ran after her. Sakura had left the door wide open and was running to the road.
Blinded by tears, she racked her mind to think of what just happened. Stoping in the middle of the road to think, she didn't see the truck that was headed her way.
Syaoran had just said he loved her and had broke up with Sally. Total remorse at what she had done to the girl. He must have left her in tears after breaking up. A tiny smile on her face, she remembered the times that Syaoran had glared at her. He was harsh on the outside but inside he was a totally different person.
Getting back to reality, she just stared at the truck that was approaching her. As if been frozen into place, she couldn't move a muscle and as the truck was almost upon her, a blur pushed her out of the way.
Falling onto the curb with a few scratches, she quickly turned to see what was happening. Syaoran had pushed her away but had been hit by the oncoming truck. His body crashed onto the truck's front window and bounced off onto the back before sliding down and crashing onto the ground. Watching all of this as if in slow motion, she stared at the fallen body. The time seemed to start again and she found herself running towards him. Clutching at his body, trying to wake him up, wearisome to get a response from his immobile body.
Sobbing and shaking him, she stayed with him while Tomoyo phone the ambulance. She had seen everything, but when the incident happened, she had been too late to stop it. Doing the only thing she could, she phoned and recalled the accident to the person on the phone. Then after they assured her that they were coming, she let her phone drop and raced to help her friend.
After what seemed like ages to the two friends, the ambulance drew up and all of a sudden Sakura found herself relating what had happened and being rushed off to the hospital with Syaoran in the ambulance. Holding he slightly cold hand, she stared at him with sadness. Wanting him to wake up and tell her everything was all right.

Watching Sakura go into the ambulance with the unconscious Syaoran, Tomoyo stared for a while before retreating back to her house.

Author's Notes: Oh. My. God.
I cannot believe I just did that. But hopefully you will review and send Syaoran your best wishes. It's been great writing this story. I'm really glad I got the idea. But it's a pity no one really likes my story on "Delicate Cherry Blossom".
