Chapter 7: Catching A Cherry Blossom
Hearing the phone ring, Meilin Rae called to her butler to get it. Hearing him knock on the training room door, she called, "I'm coming," and put down her sword. Taking deep breaths to slow down her pumping blood, she went to answer the door.
"There is a phone call for you, Mistress, from a Miss Tomoyo Daidouji. Would you like to accept the call?" said Thomas.
Totally forgetting her butler, she grabbed the phone off him.
"Hello, Tomoyo?!? Is it really you?" she exclaimed, rushing her words.
"Hey Meilin! We have seriously got to talk," continued Tomoyo, gravely.
"About what?" she replied, walking down to her room.
"Your cousin," was all she heard.
Questioning her friend, Meilin heard the whole scenario as if she was there herself. Mumbling an apology to Tomoyo, she admitted that she had set up Syaoran. Closing the door, she and Tomoyo started a long conversation.

Meanwhile�
Syaoran was in the same room with Sally. Seeing her wake up after a long nap, he watched her as she opened her eyes and looked at him.
Giving her an intense look, he said, " Do you believe in true love?" while still looking at her.
Gulping, Sally answered, "Yes�" with a quavering voice.
Sighing, he ran his hand through his hair and continued, "Sally� I don't love you. I love Sakura."
As he said those words, it confirmed her fears. That had been the reason she had ran out in front of the car. She had seen the two of them together.
Looking at him, she croaked, " Go� give her the love you never really gave me," as fell back in bed.
While hugging Sally, he gave her a quick kiss on the forehead.
"I love you like� a sister," he whispered in her ear before leaving her.

After talking to Meilin, Tomoyo slowly persuaded Sakura to start singing again. Right now they were doing a live show at the mall in Tomoeda.

The music started and checking on the accompaniments, Sakura smiled sadly and started.

Smiling, Sakura waved to the crowd as they all cheered her. Then as Tomoyo greeted her as she walked off the stage, her head went down. Shaking her head sadly, Tomoyo tried cheering her up.
But as usually, Sakura didn't respond and Tomoyo knew that only one could lift her friend's manner.
Syaoran Li, the heartbreaker and heart mender.

"Calm down, Mister Li�" said the attendant before cowering as Syaoran went into a tantrum.
"Sh.. hh.. ee.. left this though and said you should have it," said the frightened attendant holding out a letter.
Whipping around and stalking into his room, he carefully took out the letter and read it intently.
After reading it, his head dropped in defeat. Tears silently fell from his eyes as he sat on his bed with his head in his arms.

3 hours later�
Rushing around the room collecting his items, Syaoran let an attendant in.
"I'm leaving immediately," he said before shoving everything in his arms into the opened suitcase.
Speechless, the attendant was pushed aside when Syaoran rushed out of his room.

Meanwhile�
Sitting at her table, Sakura was moping around. Not even letting her family see her, ignored all calls from her friends, chucking out Kero and forbidding Yue to come, she was isolated.
With no hope, no love and hardly any life in her.
"Kaijuu let me in!" said Touya, banging on the door.
Ignoring her older brother, she traced her fingers over the photo of her and Syaoran under a cherry blossom tree with him holding her waist. Both looked very happy and Syaoran had a slight blush.
Sighing from the memories that the photo brought back, she turned to the old box next to her chair. Inside were her most treasured items, mostly photos and videos given by Tomoyo.
Pictures of Syaoran and her in their battle costumes, friends at the beach, at school and individual photos were in the box. Then looking at all the videotapes that Tomoyo had copies of, she chose one and slipped it into the video player. Watching the tapes for the rest of the afternoon, she forgot all her worries, as the past became the present for the moment.
Rain pattering, Sakura Kinomoto was free. Free from all that had burdened her in her time.
