Sung From The Heart

Chapter 1: Broken Hearted

As the child settled down in her bed, her mother stroked her head and asked " So what story do you want this time?"

While the mother straightened the ruffles on the patchwork quilt cover of golden autumn leaves, the young girl piped up as said, " A nice long one, please?"

"Certainly, but this will take many nights." The mother then started the tale of a beautiful but sad girl and the love of her life

It's been 5 years and after Syaoran Li had left, Sakura was never the same. Everyone close to her has noticed that she was the same Sakura but that extra spark has diminished.

Sakura Kinomoto had grown up to be a fine-looking young woman with her silky auburn hair, sparkling emerald eyes and all her curves stood out. Always happy on the outside, her true friends only knew what was wrong.

"Come on Sakura! You haven't been out of the house for ages!" scolded Tomoyo as she dragged Sakura to a tall skyscraper in the bustling city.

"Tomoyo where are we going?" asked Sakura, tired of the secrecy.

"Oh, we're just going to see a friend of my mum's," answered Tomoyo as they entered the building.

"Yes, how can I help you?" asked the lady at the counter.

"I made an appointment with Mr Rashidi, would you know where he is?" Tomoyo said and Sakura stared at the marble room.

"He's up on the 21st floor, first door on the right. I'll tell him you're coming up. Anything else?" asked the lady, politely.

"No, thanks Rachel" Tomoyo said, smiling.

As they headed up on the glass elevator, Sakura looks at Tomoyo. "So, who is Mr Rashidi?

They stopped at the 21st floor and then entered the first door on the right. "He's the head of the music company, Ultra Dreams Music or UDM for short," Tomoyo stopped talking as she saw the person sitting in a chair behind a fancy desk.

"Welcome to my company, Miss Kinomoto and Miss Tomoyo" said Mr Rashidi, a young man with a business suit on.

"The reason you are here, Miss Kinomoto is because I owe Sonomi Daidouji a favour. Her daughter, Tomoyo has requested that you should sing one of your songs for me today" said Mr Rashidi as Sakura glared at Tomoyo, with shock in her eyes.

"Please say you'll do it! Begged Tomoyo, hands clasped together.

Sighing, Sakura said, "I don't have my music here."

"I brought along your pieces, so you can't get out of this!" Tomoyo grinned.

Glaring at her tomodachi, she chose her first song, Forgiven, Not Forgotten.

As she stood in front of the microphone, Sakura thought, " This is for you, Syaoran"

All alone, staring on
Watching her life go by
When her days are grey
And her nights are black
Different shades of mundane
And that one-eyed furry toy
That lies upon the bed
Has often heard her cry
And heard a whisper out a name
Long forgiven, not forgotten

You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're not forgotten

A bleeding heart torn apart
Left on a icy grave
And they room where they
Once lay, face to face
Nothing could get in their way
But now the memories of the man
Are haunting her days
And the craving never fades
She's still dreaming of the man
Long forgiven, not forgotten

You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're not forgotten

Still alone, staring on
Wishing her life goodbye
As she goes searching for the man
Long forgiven, not forgotten

You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're forgiven, not forgotten
You're not forgotten

Sakura lifted off the headset to see Tomoyo and Mr Rashidi speechless.

"Is anything wrong?" Sakura asked, still sad from the memories that flooded her mind.

Finally, Tomoyo spoke, saying " It's so sad but beautiful" then Mr Rashidi said, " Tomoyo is right, you have a talent for singing. Would you like to become a singer?"

Astonished, Sakura stammered out, " S.. sure, I guess as long as mine Otou-san and Oni-chan agree"

While Mr Rashidi started phoning lots of people, including her brother and father, Tomoyo and Sakura sat down in some comfortable chairs.

"You should move on Sakura, forget Li-kun, it's been 6 years already" said Tomoyo, sadly.

Sakura didn't reply. 'I'm broken-hearted cause you left me, Syaoran"
