Disclaimers: Me no own Card Captor Sakura, Clamp own CCS. Me no money, you no sue. The lyrics used in this chapter is from the song entitled "Greener with the Scenery" by the Used.
Author's Note: Haven't written anything in a while. My first CCS fic loosely based and inspired by Silverymare's "Sung From The Heart". I still have to adjust my writing style [I have one?!] so that it will complement with the regular CCS way. That means no profanity, less violence and more mush. *slouches* I can do it.
I would like to thank Silverymare for allowing me to use "Sung From The Heart" as a basis for this fic. I'm sorry if this fic doesn't live up to your expectations. Fic is for Karl. No matter how many Hieis or Ilhans or Shin'ichis are there in this world, they can never compare to you or the have love I have for you. *shudders* I didn't realize I was this mushy! On with the fic!
My Soul Can Rest
Chapter 1: Dreams
You took it back.
How could you go
And do something like that?
My fingernail phase
Worst has got the best of you
I ask you and I know I need to change
"Listen to me, Sakura," Syaoran said gently, his hands cupping Sakura's cheeks. Brown eyes stared deeply at teary green eyes. "Promise me that you wouldn't hate me. I have mustered all my courage to say this to you now. Please?"
Sakura sniffled, unintentionally making a cute face. Her fingers played with the edge of her shirt, her hands cold, and her heart racing. She gave a hesitant nod and bit her lower lip. "OK, I'll try," she replied in a whisper.
They were standing beneath a huge tree with low, sweeping branches. It was their favorite tree, the wonderful smell of the leaves gave them a calming effect. But this time, no amount that wonderful smell could calm both Syaoran and Sakura.
Syaoran didn't trust himself to speak but he convinced himself that it was now or never. He opened his mouth and the words he wanted to say for such a long time poured forth. "Sakurayouyou mean sso much to mmme. You've chchanged mewholly. I" Syaoran paused to see Sakura reaction. He was sweating profusely and he felt that he is going to have a major heart attack.
"Go on Syaoran, it's OK. I'm listening," Sakura encouraged.
Syoran gulped, took a deep breath and let out a sigh before continuing his confession. A sudden burst of courage shot through him and he spoke unfaltering. "I don't know how you did it, I don't know if it's your smile or you innocence or your stoic manner. You broke the stone barrier from my heart and melted the ice that surrounds my spirit. You've made me a new person."
"And this, this is why you mean so much to me. This is why I love you. Be mine, Sakura Please?" Syaoran watched anxiously as emotions played in Sakura's eyes. Sakura's eyes welled with tears.
"Is this really happening? Syaoran, this is just a dream, tell me it is. But your touch feels real, your scent, your cold and shaking hands. Oh, I wish this dream wouldn't end." Sakura's vision was blurred by her tears. As a tear dropped, she could feel Syaoran's calloused thumb wiping it away. Her hand reached up to touch the boy's cheek and caressed it. Syaoran's hands reached up and cupped the fragile hand between his own. He placed a kiss on her palm and drew it to his chest.
"Feel my heart, Sakura, feel it and know the truth."
Sakura closed her eyes as she felt Syaoran's strong heartbeat. She took a deep breath and inhaled in his unique smell, which brought forth emotions unnamed emotions she never felt or knew. All she new is that she longed for Syaoran, and she wanted him to hold her close and feel his lips gently pressed against hers.
'Argh. Impure thoughts! I sure hope Syaoran can't read my mind,' Sakura thought. Her face burned with embarrassment at her impure thoughts.
"Sakura, will you be mine?" Syaoran asked gently for the second time. Sakura's silence made him more uneasy. The feel of her hand on his chest, however, comforted him a bit. If she should ever hate him for this and decided to completely avoid him, at least he finally aired his feelings for her. He gave a little smile and closed his eyes, as if to relish the one last perfect moment with Sakura.
"Yes Syaoran, I want to be yours," Sakura finally spoke up. Syaoran's eyes flew open, his face grew paled and his knees almost giving in. A moment later, his face was flushed in a furious shade of red. He felt like his heart was going to jump from his chest, a million emotions rushed through his spirit. It was unexplainable.
"Nnanani?" He stuttered.
'I want to be yours. I'm saying yes, Syaoran." Sakura gently repeated. Saying the words aloud brought a rush of emotions making her head whirl. She almost couldn't think straightalmost.
The next thing she knew was that she was being embraced by Syaoran. She let out a giggle as she felt the boy's hold stiffen. "Relax, it's ok. I don't mind you hugging me," she tenderly said in Syaoran's ear. Slowly, the embrace grew yielding and she found her arms encircling the boy's body, hugging him back.
Syaoran gently moved in for a kiss while Sakura's tilted her head to meet Syaoran's lips. Their lips almost made contact when
A shrill ring interrupted.
'My alarm clock? Here?' Sakura was confused.
"Sakura!! Wake up, You wouldn't want to be late for school!" Kero shouted in Sakura's ear, trying to wake her up. Seeing that it was hopeless, he placed himself on Sakura's chest, and tickled her nose with his tail.
"Gah!" Sakura abruptly sat up as she felt a ticklish sensation on her nose. "Kero!" She gave Kero an evil look before giving a big yawn. 'It happened again. That dream again.'

You took it back
You ripped my heart out of me
Then you put it back
I'm pulling my hair
I let you just a million times
I love you even though it isn't fair.
"Tomoyo, it couldn't be! It all happened two years ago, remember? Two years ago, before Syaoran returned to Hong Kong. Now it keeps on reliving itself in my dreams. Freaky, I must say," Sakura explained to her best friend. It was already lunchtime and both girls were eating their lunch under their favorite tree inside the school campus.
Tomoyo listened intently while eating her lunch, nodding every now and then to let Sakura know that she was listening. She was worried with her friend's situation. She knew Sakura was badly shaken when Syaoran told her he'd be going back to Hong Kong. Though she lost all hope that Syaoran would come back, she knew that Sakura never lost hope. 'He promised,' she would always remind her. Yes, Sakura loved and will always love Li Syaoran.
"I've heard that if you dream of a past love, in this case Syaoran, then that means he's thinking of you too.The heart can do impossible deeds, Sakura," Tomoyo said, trying to be helpful. She wasn't sure she convinced Sakura because she didn't convince herself.
"I hope so, Tomoyo, I hope so," Sakura wistfully said, giving a little sigh.

Run we go around again in circles
Play this game over again
Everything was black. Sakura walked forward, waving her hands all around to feel something to guide her. Then she saw a light at the end. 'Light! I'm almost there!' And she ran towards the light.
She came to the end and what she saw drained the color from her face.
"Listen to me, Sakura. Promise me that you wouldn't hate me. I have mustered all my courage to say this to you now. Please?"
"OK, I'll try"
Her dream was reliving itself again.
'I want to be yours. I'm saying yes, Syaoran."
"Syaoran! Syaoran! Where are you?" Another voice called out, an unfamiliar female voice from an unknown source. Sakura could feel the emotion the voice held, as if it were calling its lost love.
'What's happening? This isn't the way its supposed to be!' Sakura thought. She wanted to move, and find the owner of the voice but it seemed like her feet were planted firmly on the ground. All she could do was watch as her dream took a new twist.
A hand held Syaoran's wrist and gently pulled him away from Sakura, away from the tree. Syaoran resisted but it seemed that his efforts were futile. Sakura held out her hand and tried to grab Syaoran's outstretched hand but all she grabbed was air. She tried to run after Syaoran, but he seemed to avoid her.
"Syaoran! Don't leave me!" Sakura fell to her knees and wept, her face on her hands. She felt the air around her shift and she looked up. A green mist surrounded her and a whisper was heard. 'I will always love you, always. But I guess this is goodbye" And the mist disappeared.
Both Sakuras wept bitterly, whispering Syaoran's name.
