Getting Started
Getting Started
Pokemon Stadium 2 is compatible with Pokemon Crystal, Gold, Silver, Red, Blue, and Yellow versions for the Nintendo Game Boy. If you own a Transfer Pak, which you get for free in Pokemon Stadium, you can insert it into your Nintendo 64 Controller and insert one of your Game Boy Pokemon games to upload your Pokedex information to Pokemon Stadium 2. Any of the Pokemon you've caught and trained on Game Boy will be able to enter the arena and battle it out in Stadium 2. If you're using Gold or Silver, you'll be able to access and score a few Stadium 2 extras, too!
Mystery Gifts
Using the Transfer Pak and Pokemon Gold, Silver or Crystal from the Nintendo Game Boy, you can receive Mystery Gift from the girl at the Goldenrod Department Store. Professor Oak will have your prize waiting for you at the Pokemon Lab.
Ways To Battle
Quick-Play
If you're just itching to battle and don't want to spend time creating a team, choose Battle Now! The quick-play mode is for one to two players and assigns each competitor with a random team of Pokemon.
Rental Pokemon
If you don't have any Pokmon to upload from the GB Pokmon games using the Transfer Pak, you must assemble your team using the game's pretrained Pokmon. Boasting an unusual variety of moves, the "Rental" Pokmon can also be added to your personally raised team of GB Pokmon.
Event Battle (2 Players)
For two-player competitions, enter the Event Battle. If both you and your friend are using the Transfer Pak to play, you can compete in the Little Cup, PokeCup and Prime Cup using the preselected teams.
Customize the Game
Customize the game to your liking. In the Options section, you can change the stereo sound (a Dolby option is available), turn off the announcer's commentary and edit the rules of battle, including item use and Qualifying Pokmon.
