I grew up Catholic, went to an Episcopalian high school, and at present most frequently attend Methodist services. The imporant thing in my faith journey has been to keep seeking closeness with God. If the worship services do not actively help me to know God, I find a place that does. I still read nightly from my Bible. No matter where you practice your faith, it's important to read the teachings and understand them for yourself.
Several Christian denominations encourage and celebrate the division between churches. This seems contradictory to Christ's own teaching of unity. Perhaps we all have our own interpretations of how Eucharist should be carried out, but isn't the point that we are all welcome at Christ's table? |
