Denver trip! 

All of the ppl that I mentioned here I met through MFC chat, unfortunately I have lost contact with some ppl since.

It started out with Kim my friend from MFC CHAT inviting me to go to Denver with her..to see the Backstreet Boys...at first I was a little surprised, but when  I realized she was for real I jumped at the chance.  I also learned that Sharky was gonna be going too. Which was great cos I wanted to met her too!   Robin, Hiedi and CJ were gonna have a little gathering before the concert and help raise some money for the BSB charities (This money was eventually given to the widow of Daniel Lee) So we all had a great time.  Here goes the story.

October 8th -getting ready- I got up to get ready for work, and finish packing.  After work in the wee hours of the morning...I went home and checked my emails and got my stuff and soon left...one of my emails was from my friend Kim saying that the boys switched hotels on us and thanks to Robin and Hiedi they tracked them down so we were gonna be staying at a different hotel than planned...This was fodder for panic back home later cos my nephew didn't know that I had gotten this message.  LOL so he worried for quite some time until I phoned them to say I was okay....

October 9th -on the road and getting there- On the road to Grand Forks to catch my plane...it was a short trip with going the border and a little funny...The reason I flew from Grand Forks and not Winnipeg is that it was cheaper from there ($200 US cheaper)  When I went through the border it was the usual questions what purpose where you going to the states for? How long?  When were you here last? Any booze or cigs...LOL  My answers prompted the guy to asked if they (bsb) were my boyfriends or something....LOL My answer was..I wish!!    I got to the airport really early...so early in fact that I learned that I could catch the early flight to Minneapolis so I did..I also started to chat to an older lady there that was taking a trip to Hawaii (we still keep in touch)  The rest of the trip was uneventful...I think I did nap a bit though thank heavens...LOL

Once I arrived at Denver I phoned Hiedi, then Robin who agreed to met me at the hotel cos Kim and Shark were arriving later than me...

I arrived at the hotel in good time met up with Robin in the lobby, right afterwards we went outside to chat with some of the fans out there and we discovered that Sarah was signing autographs outside AJ's bus..During our time outside we learned that Brian, Howie and Kevin were not in Denver but up in the mountains..were it might be snowing...Ouch...we prayed that they would return in time tomorrow...lol..Denver seems to have a little bit of bad luck when trying to have a bsb concert..someone is/was always missing..so that left AJ and Nick in Denver....we, Robin and I followed her (Sarah) into the hotel so that we could go up to the room and get rid of my suitcase...as we walked in the security person started to give Sarah a rough time cos she didn't have her pass key to the rooms to prove that she was staying there..finally Robin piped up that Sarah was with us so that the security person would leave her alone...After the elevator door closed she said thanks to Robin.. Sarah then got off at the 4th floor.  We went up to the room and dropped our things off and then made our way back outside.  Now things start to get a little fuzzy her but...I will try to put it in the order that it happened. 

All fans were told that they couldn't hang out in the lobby so Robin and I stood between the 2 outside doors, I was facing outside and Robin was facing the lobby..all of a sudden I heard this voice say "taxi" and the hairs on the back of my head stood up..some how I knew it was....NICK!  Robin and I both froze..I didn't turn around but when he walked past I watched.  Sigh!  Robin was mouthing the words "that is Nick" to me too so...oh wow is all I can say..I could have reached out and touched him but...with those bodyguards you really don't want to step out of line to far..lol.  He got into the taxi and then signed a couple autographs through the window before they left..Robin and I had gone outside by this time and then were told that we couldn't stand where we were, that we had to join the crowd..I'm not sure when Heidi and Hiedi joined us but I do know that a short time later Nick returned and waved to us and headed for his bus...where he stayed all evening!  Robin Hiedi, Heidi and I all went up to the room to have something to eat and during this time Kim and Shark arrived...so I moved my things to the proper room then..we ate quick and I kept telling everyone that Nick would come out of his bus about midnite...hmmmm don't ask me how I knew but I did those darn instincts...lol. 

Close to that time we some how headed downstairs...some went ahead of me and a couple ppl stayed behind...I somehow ended up riding the elevator down with a young girl that I didn't know...we stopped at the upper lobby..(the lower lobby is where the main door is)  I didn't know that after 11pm the elevator didn't go all the way down..so I stayed on it and then......Nick and his bodyguard walked into the elevator!!!  I just watched under my lashes and didn't look directly at him..I was frozen to the spot and couldn't talk again..grrrrr.... then the bg asked if I was getting off and I said I guess so and got off...I can tell you all now that they went to the 5th floor..LOL I wouldn't tell the whole time I was there about that though....they deserved some privacy.  I also noticed that Nick seemed like he was NOT in a good mood so I still say that was not the time to bother him either, it looked like he wanted his space...so I gave it to him much to my misfortune in not talking to him...lol oh well I still think I will get another chance!...... When I got outside I could have cried..I also learned that Nick did sign autographs and take pictures with fans.  WAHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyway shortly after the rest of the girls from the crew joined us outside and we found out that the vehicle waiting near the door was probably for a bsb member...a short time later AJ and Sarah came out..AJ said he would sign autographs later sooo we waited and waited...lol

Later on they returned, Sarah went inside the hotel and AJ came over to us, we all got in a line and he signed autographs up the line and then came back with {{HUGS}}!! down the line.  Wow what a great hugger and he smelt wonderful, sigh.  I gave him an extra squeeze when hugging him for good measure too...He also told us that he was 97 days sober too!  After the autograph session he went into his bus and stayed there..this happened about midnite if not later and he stayed there past 2 am cos that was about the time that we all went inside to get some sleep!  BTW I got a pic of AJ signing autographs and then I found another one taken by someone else while surfing the net a few months ago and my friend Sharky is in the background of that pic. During the day I met several ppl that I knew or would bump into on the MFC board, Robin, Heidi, Hiedi, Inge and then CJ and her daughter Stacy.  As well as my room mates Kim and Shark...lol  We also killed some waiting time by taking pics of us and now and then a bus or two to prove that we were there.

October 10-concert day!!  The next morning I was woken up by a Howie dream, don't ask how it was significant but it was..I just knew that some how I would meet that man too if not him then another member of bsb.  But the point is that it did wake me up..so I got up and then got ready for a VERY long day!

We all slowly got ready and then headed downstairs to wait outside and also get some things ready for the gathering.....we didn't see this but other fans told us that Brian and Leighanne arrived..the problem is that were we stood the vehicle hid him and he disappeared inside quick. I'm told he is a tough one to catch for autographs and pic though.   Kevin and Howie, well we weren't sure where they were but if Bri made it back then Howie and Kevin couldn't be too far behind.  about 3 pm Nick and AJ made their way to the cars to go to the venue.  Kim got a pic of Nick and a pic of Sarah at the time...also while we waited the buses were being loaded up...They were parked outside the hotel so even if you wanted to you couldn't miss them...when we returned that nite the buses were gone sooo. 

We all headed to the gathering to have something to eat and hangout..here is where I met Malessa and her family. She is another person that I met in mfc chat, they were in from Salt Lake City to see the concert.  We all had a good meal, won some prizes and chilled.

Then off to the concert..now this is were things got crazier...lol.

When we first headed to the centre my friend Kim had her back pack with her and was told that she couldn't take it inside...so back to the vehicle she went....she found a way to smuggle in the 5 or 6 cans of silly string that she had bought...and her camera..lol In fact she tucked the cans into the waist band of her jeans and pulled her jacket over it... the funniest part was that she dropped one right in front of the police and when she went to put the can back into her hiding place two women came up behind her to hide what she was doing from the policeman's view...

Our seats at the concert were great....19th row CCC side on the end which made us on Kevin's side....the concert was FABULOUS is all  I can say.(Shark was sitting on the other side of the bridge not with us so..in case you were wondering)  We had a great female security person who helped some little girls get better seats so that they could see, she stopped another security guard from making me switch back to my old spot, the reason why I switched with someone was that this woman in front of me was so tall that I couldn't see..so we had switched, then she, the security person, told Kim and I to hide our flashes so that we could continue to take pictures while others had to put away their camera's...Kim and I got a pic of her and us during a break in the show.  Once the little girls  had been moved  Kim and I moved down in further in the seats so that we could get closer to the bridge....once they switched to the smaller stage I asked Kim where the silly string was..and I got it out, she had put it in my purse for safe keeping.  So there we were opening the cans and skaking them, during the song SMTMOBL we were rocking to the song and shaking these cans trying to hide what we were doing..the ladies that were behind us must have thought we were crazy cos our bodies were just moving,  swaying from dancing, and shaking the cans and laughing.....Mike the guy with the 3 little girls was near by and offered to take pics for us while we used the silly string....According to Kim (now this happened fast so I'm working on what I know and what she has told me) I think Howie and AJ were first on the bridge..we tried to get their attention but no real luck there...but my trying to nail the first two who were dodging and laughing at us caught Nick's attention.....he saw Kim with 3 cans and motioned for her to throw one up to him..which she did and he caught it..sprayed some then put it into his jacket pocket then he blew her a kiss..so that was our Nick moment at the concert....I tried to throw him a can but I think it landed on bridge instead....I'm not sure.  Oh well..we missed Brian with the silly string too...darn...but Kev well....knowing he was Kim's fav and one of the lite girls (it was Peg) asked me to give some love to Kev..I knew I couldn't miss getting his attention!  LOL...I nailed Kev in the chest...thank heavens Kim got the camera back and started taking pics too!  specially of this!  Anyway he looked around and saw me with the can of silly string.  He noticed that there was a stray can laying on the bridge and picked it up and tried to spray me...unfortunately it was empty..about this time I blew him a kiss cos I realized I had his full attention and I wanted something that he could respond to so that I knew it was me he was taking the time with.....HE BLEW A KISS BACK!!  Wow how great can that be!!?? 

Soon the concert ended..darn! We had such a good time...Kim and I headed outside to see the buses once more, where we were told that two vans had already left...Kim and I knew that we wouldn't see much at the centre so we left to go back to the vehicle.  and wait for the others.  We also had a hunch that if anyone stayed behind..they would have left in those vans.

We had a great parking lot party while waiting for everyone to join us and we said good bye to Robin, her hubby and Heidi.  CJ was gonna come over to the hotel for a bit..we did invite everyone back cos of our hunch but...(part of the hunch was what Jodi had told Kim about them spilting up again after the concerts with some staying behind and some going ahead) 

We got back to the hotel and Kim had to phone home..I was a little hyped up and decided to phone home and wake up my sis to talk to her..but I went down to the lobby phone...WELL.........Just as I was starting to say goodbye to my sis I noticed a crowd in the lobby..I looked a little closer and realized it was Howie and his bg. So I litterally hung up on my sis with a curt...'Howie's here gotta go..bye." click!!  and went over to get his autograph..we were chatting about being online when I couldn't resist treasing him and telling him that LOL stood for laughing out loud when chatting.  He just gave me a funny look and said something back but to this day I can't remember what...oh well..

Afterwards I moved my butt back upstairs and told the girls that Howie had just went through the lobby.  So we gathered downstairs again and waited..but this time was different..it was a small crowd and they allowed us to wait in the lobby..CJ and Stacy joined us for awhile too....Kim got tired of waiting and headed to bed but she did give me her Howie bear to be signed should I see Howie again.  During the time we spent downstairs we learned that AJ and Sarah had stayed behind too...Shark and I  were still so hyped up and nite owls anyway sooo we waited and waited...soon we were the only two left.  It was also during this time that we got to talking to the hotel security nite woman and she was the one that told us that it was AJ who wanted the lobby cleared the day before which is why we were stuck outside.  After she left Shark asked me what Howie was wearing so I told her..she told me that she thinks he went clubbing and should be back about 4 am....a short time later (3:45 to be exact) a vehicle pulled up and she noticed... She turned to me and said...he's back....I was taking a drink of water at the time and started to shake a little but I took a deep breath and calmed down..hysterics wouldn't help and I wanted that autograph for Kim cos of her generosity to me!  So when Howie walked in I said 'Hi Howie, did you have fun!?'  His comment to me was 'You're still up?!"  I was surprised that he recognized me though, but I guess it pays to say something crazy to him earlier...lol ....I said yeah my job requires me to be up late and then I motioned for him to come over to us (Shark and I didn't move from our perches...lol a raised table and chairs..why stand when you don't have to)..where I asked him to autograph the bear for me...I told him that I had a nite job so I was used to being up late and that I came from Canada to see the concert..he asked me what part of Canada..so I said Central Canada..but he wanted specifics...which part he asked.. Edmonton, Calgary..I nearly fell over in my chair cos of the awareness that he had about Canada..I told him no, Winnipeg..and he commented ohhh Winnipeg, okay..he had a friend with him who was trying to rush him a bit but he told her that he was coming in a bit..the bg just stood back and let us and Howie talk..My friend Shark also asked for an autograph for one of her friends back in Florida which I have a copy of cos her friend and I share the same name.  He didn't stay long but according to Shark who has met him before said that if he hadn't had company he would have stayed longer and flirted with us more.  So then he left with our good byes and thanks...we forgot to ask him for a hug though..and afterwards Shark commented that he was in a fairly good mood...lol

After he left Shark and I got the shakes so we stayed awhile longer and calmed down before going upstairs to pack.

October 11 going home.  After we calmed down we went upstairs to pack, unfortunately..maybe it was a good thing..but we woke up our other roomie....Shark had to show her the bear and she sat right up in bed and got all excited...so we all finished packing and checked out early 5AM ....and went to have breakfast..pick up some newspapers and dropped off the rental car.

Kim was to be the first one to leave but she ended up in the wrong line and had to get another flight..so we all said our goodbyes cos the line ups were long...Shark was actually the first one to leave. Me second and Kim last.

Now here is were that dumb luck/intuition played another part.  I was standing in line to go through customs when I was thinking how BSB could get through the line so fast....after I was through I went and found my gate then headed for the washroom..when I walked out I ran into Kim who had found another flight home.  We decided to sit at my gate cos I left first..we were just chatting and reliving the moments when I noticed this black haired woman across the area.  Then I looked at the ppl with her..one big black guy and one short skinny guy..I realized it was Sarah AJ and their bg....so I motioned for Kim to look...we were totally amazed but played it cool.. we decided to wait and see who else passed by...some workers of their's, then right in front of us walks...Howie and his bg....he was holding a plate of food and chowing down as he walked...After I boarded my plane Kim left to check out where the guys were..(this is part of what she told me again)...she did zip up her jacket so that her tshirt was hiding so no one would flip out.  Because we knew where their next concert was and where Kim had to switch planes..she thought they might be on her flight.....she didn't see them so she walked over to the window to look out and almost stepped on Howie...lol He was lying on the floor trying to get some sleep.  So she came back to my gate and  gave a message for me to the flight attendant...I was dozing off in my seat when the flight attendant asked for Heather.  She gave me the message and that said 'THEY ARE ON MY FLIGHT!' love Kim...what  a wake up call!!

I must have gotten some sleep on the way home and then I drove back to Winnipeg yet too...so roughly from the time I got up to go to work till I went to bed the day I got home I think I got a total of 10 hours of sleep...ouch..but the trip was so worth it!!

Okay and now for what Kim told me about her flight.

When the boys were ready to board they were the ones to be spot checked...during that time a fan tried to take some pictures which didn't make the guys or their security happy..but before they could do anything Kim stepped in front of her and stopped her.  She said their smiles for her were worth the trouble.  Then once she boarded she noticed Howie was sleeping again but she stopped for a moment to talk to Sarah and AJ.  She asked Sarah for a hug and had to lean across AJ for it..while she was doing that AJ said..'what about me!' so she ended up hugging him too.  They liked the bsb pins on her backpack and chatted for a minute..  then she sat down and didn't bother them the rest of the trip..  After they deplane though she did get a chance to thank howie for signing her bear earlier though...so that is all of the  trip and what happened to us all...In a big nut shell...lol.
