Author: Shannon Leigh ISBN: 1-59279-433-5 Genre: Paranormal Publisher: Amber Quill Press Web Address: www.amberquill.com Rating: 4.5 Nymphs Reviewer: Irish Minx Laura Flannerys workday is done and shes officially on vacation. She has no plans but due to her elderly neighbors habit of always asking her Laura to do things for her on her vacation, Laura tells her that shes going somewhere for vacation. In the mail that day, she received a postcard announcing the Grand Opening of a restored plantation home, Greenwood Manor turned into a B&B, in New Orleans. She decides that maybe shell go for a couple of days after all, it is her vacation! After some really strange happenings at her house, like the postcard that she threw away is found in her top drawer in her bedroom, she packs up and heads out! When she gets to the Manor, Lauras a bit confused about why the cabbie seems reluctant to let her out but once shes out of the cab, she thinks no more about it! Little does she realize that before too long, shell be questioning her very sanity, between what happened at home and whats happening right in front of her eyes!! Barnabas is the ghost of Greenwood Manor and has been for a very long time. I cant tell you much without giving away too much of the story but what an absolutely scrumptious ghost! Shannon Leigh gives us a wonderful paranormal ghost/reincarnation story that kept me glued to my seat. Laura is a great heroine cautious, open-minded, yet confused by what she sees. Barnabas is just flat out yummy a true hero. I was thinking the book would end in a different manner but its still a great ending!! If you like ghost stories or paranormal books do yourself a huge favor buy this book and read it. Trust me you wont be sorry! |
| Title: On Corridian Wings 2: Teche
Author: Steve Boiseman Copyright: 2005 Publisher: Changeling Press Rating: 4 Nymphs Reviewer: Auzzie Minx Police Chief Pos Teche, who is under threat from an old enemy, General Ean, is given the task of tracking down those responsible for an assassination attempt on the Warlord Muss. Lars searches for his kidnapped sister aided by Mira. As their ship leaves Velos after rescuing ambassador Geena Triskelion from Muss, they didnt plan on being followed into null space by a torpedo. To avoid death when returning to normal space, Lars must risk his life to save the crew. Teche has his own problems. Not only does he have to search for the perpetrators on Musss life but he ends up in grave danger of losing his own. The pace just keeps on going. I didnt read the first book and should have. Steve does a good job of feeding the relevant information into book two very effectively but a read of Book 1 would do book 2 the most justice. If you like SF, action and aliens, then get this book. |
| Title: Public Domain
Author: Bridget Midway Copyright: 2005 Genre: Contemporary, Interracial Publisher: www.oceansmistpress.com Rating: 5 Nymphs Reviewer: Auzzie Minx Bea doesnt like men getting too close. She takes on a different persona, including a false name just so she can keep the walls nicely in place. She doesnt count on Tag breaking through. While the sex in public places is fun, Tag wants more. He manages a landscape company, and while business is doing fine he wants a woman to share his life with him. Not any woman but Bea. How can he convince her? Public Domain is a fabulous story between two people who put on personas, as neither believes they would fall in love with the real person underneath. The sex is sensual as well as hot. The way Bridget Midway writes is also very sensual. I could not put this book down and reads it I one sitting. At 59 pages its a good sized novella to read if you want an uplifting story. |
