Now it�s her thirty-eighth birthday and although she is a successful lawyer, she can�t even get laid � what a miserable Christmas. The latest reason for her misery is being dumped by her jerk ex-boyfriend on Christmas Eve. Erik Claus spends his days managing his father, Santa�s, elven workforce and producing the years toys within budget. His father still treats him as if he is in diapers, and just for once he would like some respect. Santa Claus is not the kind, jolly old man in the red suit that everyone thinks he is, in fact he�s a giant pain in Erik�s butt. When Erik takes his father�s sleigh out on Christmas Eve he never expects to encounter Holly, as she pulls the rug out right from under his feet � Christmas starts to get interesting.
This story had me in hysterics. For everyone who is a little bah-humbug at Christmas, this is the perfect pick-me-up. Amy O�Connor has taken a traditional Christmas Myth and sliced it open, leaving a giant joke on the world. The dialogue is piercingly funny, and the story holds one giant laugh after another. Add in some really hot sex, and this little number is ready for reading. Amy O�Connor plays on a big female fantasy of being swept away and ravished by a hunky man, and she does it very well. This is a great Christmas tale that can be enjoyed all year around by anyone with a sense of humor. I really enjoyed All I want� and I am glad I have more from this author in my TBR folder. I highly recommend it.

Lizard, the local Berdache, knows there will be trouble when he sees Red Wolf�s wife take another warrior into her lodge. He is visited by Red Wolf�s mother and sister who ask him to look after Red Wolf in his time of pain, and more importantly, find out if he too is a Berdache. An untrained Berdache is often driven mad so it is important to find this information out. Lizard promises to look for the signs, but doesn�t believe they are there. He has been in love with Red Wolf since they were young friends. Red Wolf feels angry and embarrassed that he has failed to please his wife, and seeks sanctuary in the arms of the slave woman � Moon. She tries to pleasure him, but soon realizes that Red Wolf may be happier in the arms of a man. Can Lizard be there for Red Wolf in that way, or will he remain with Moon?
Lena Austin never disappoints in her story telling. I felt like I was there in the village, the lodges remain etched on my brain, with their inhabitants sitting outside of them. Her descriptions of the spirit world felt so real, I actually dreamed I was there the night after I read about it. Ms. Austin describes the spirit animals, just as I have learned about them, and have come to imagine them myself. Although the external conflict is minimal in this story, the characters grow internally when they find and accept their purpose in life. I would like to see more stories based in this world where the characters have to struggle to work at their purpose. I would love to see them challenged more. This is a love story between three very different characters who populate a wonderful world. I recommend Berdache, as well as Lena Austin�s other stories.

Leah and Ashley are both flying their last mission before they are to be mated to men of their people. Once mated, women must stop flying. As they approached the planet they were surveying, Ashley realizes that it is the one she has been dreaming of. Before the two have time to discuss this discovery, their craft crashes to the planet below. Ashley is injured and when Leah opens the door to look for help, she falls straight into the arms of a gorgeous man. Darius of the Leopai People of Catari immediately recognizes his mate, and is not happy when she attempts to influence him by breaking into his mind. He realizes that training Leah in the ways of Leopai women will be hard, and that she will not accept his authority easily. He is right. Leah is not impressed, and somewhat worried about Darius� glowing eyes. Can the two find a common ground so that Leah can accept her fate?
Kyla Logan has written a lovely story with some fabulous characters. Darius is pure alpha � he is in charge and makes no attempt to hide it, but he also cares very deeply about Leah � making him a wonderful hero. Add to that the secret he hides, and I fell in love with him over the course of the book. Leah is a strong heroine who won�t be forced to do anything, and reacts well to the changes in her life. The Claiming ceremony is very sensual, and very beautiful. I was impressed with the way it was written. The world of Catari can obviously support many more of these stories and I can�t wait to read Ashley�s story. Although I would have liked the world itself to be described a little more, I enjoyed learning about the people and the cultural aspects of the society. I highly recommend Catari Heat 1: New Beginnings, and look forward to more from Kyla Logan
