| THE MANDORLA MEDALLION
by Madison Fox Publisher: eXtasy Books Genre: Paranormal Suspense Pages: 100 ISBN: 1-55410-200-6 Reviewed by Silver Minx Rating: 2.5 Nymphs Posh Warren watches as her boyfriend, Shawn Holden, is shot down in front of her by members of the Sutratma Society in the Tanzanian forest. Two years later, she is still not fully recovered, but is ready to start living again. She begins a position at a new magazine owned by BW Enterprises called Enigma. Her first assignment is an article on the recently discovered bog mummies in England. Her photographer is the mysterious Nemesis Danos. What Posh doesnt realise is that Nemesis and Enigma are both tools of Evanston Burton, the man fighting against the Sutratma Society, also the man Shawn was working for when he died; it is not the mummies that are important, but a medallion that one of them is said to be wearing. Posh and Nemesis must recover The Mandorla Medallion, escape from the Sutratma Society, and cope with their growing feelings toward each other. The romance between Nemesis and Posh seemed a little forced for the plot. I honestly couldnt see why she would be interested in a man she knew was sleeping with someone else. Nemesis seemed more of the use her and lose her type, and I didnt find any explanation of why he might think Posh could change that. I was disappointed in Nemesis as a hero. The dialect he spoke was very distracting to the story, and he crossed the line from being a simple bad boy to being unlovable. I didnt care for Posh as a heroine either. She seemed determined to let Nemesis tell her what to do, and didnt stand up for herself enough. Some of the Point of View head hopping, especially in the beginning, was also distracting and unnecessary. Let me say, I did think the plot was wonderful. I was intrigued by the storyline, and read to the end simply to see what paranormal abilities the medallion had. Click here to purchase The Mandorla Medallion |
