After catching her boyfriend with a colleague in the copier room, Mirelle begins to have strange dreams of another man.  At last she reaches out and touches Jareth set Morath, her destined soul mate from a parallel world, Hearthome.  Believing herself to be dreaming, Mirelle gives Jareth her virginity and crosses the gap between worlds.  Jareth is a royal mage; he finally convinces her it isnt a dream.  In truth, Mirelle is a royal princess who was stolen from her family as a baby.  When a princess and royal mage climax together they make special magic dust, and allow Jareth to recharge his magical energy.  If Mirelle doesnt stay with Jareth, he will die.  Mirelle is determined not to give in to Jareth again until it is love between them and not just lust.  Together they must discover who stole Mirelle, and killed her parents, and who will rule in her Kingdom now that she is home.

Silver Fire is a very good fantasy.  The world of Hearthome was wonderfully thought out, and certainly capable of sustaining several more stories in it.  The politics are vast, complicated, and deadly a brilliant us against the world plot.  The characters were extremely likable, and half the time I didnt know who was good and who was bad.  I loved the magical dust that Jareth and Mirelle created while having sex, I could picture the shiny substance covering them and the room.  Jeanne Barrack also injected some understated humor into the mix.  It was amusing watching Jareth trying to get Mirelle comfortable with her birth world.  I liked that she didnt immediately fit in, but conflicted with her surroundings.  Although I thought it was unusual for Mirelle to still be a virgin at her age, she certainly made up for it.  I highly recommend Silver Fire, and I hope the sequel arrives soon.

Will Taylor is having a bad night.  His blind date, Lewis, turns into a raunchy lover of the worst sort under the light of the full moon.  It leaves him wishing on a star that he could have one man to love him as a partner and a friendand if the guy happened to be extra hot, Will wouldn't complain.

Mabbey, Drag Queen of Faerie, hears the mortal's plea and snaps his fingers to summon his loyal, but much beleaguered attendants to do something about it.  Getting permission to interfere from The Queen of All Faerie takes more trickery, but Mabbey uses her own vices against her and gets his way.  A fact that will come back to haunt him later.

Righting Will's love life is a challenge.  The only beefcake Will has eyes for, a self-absorbed gigolo named Devon, doesn't appreciate the special man that he is.  Mabbey changes that, but in the process learns that giving Will to the man of his dreams means that Mabbey must give up his own, for he too falls for Will in a very hard way.

To find out with whom Will, and Mabbey, eventually end up, you'll have to read
The Drag Queen of Faerie.

From the first word, this tale by Willa Okati is so entertaining that I didn't want to move from my chair.  There is nothing I can say to fully convey how wonderful this book is.  The story is well written, free of tired clichs and riddled with humor.  The characters come alive, as if I'd known them all my life.  Even if you're inclined to pass because you're not sure you can warm up to a Drag Queen, give
The Drag Queen of Faerie by Changeling Press a try.  You won't be disappointed!

Elizabeth lives the life desired by so many.  A devoted husband, two fine sons and a job as a high-priced lawyer that nets her enough to buy the extras that turn life from a drab existence into a pleasure.  Why then is Elizabeth so unhappy?  Why then does she feel like a stranger in her own house, among her closest family?

To find the answer, Elizabeth experiments with cyber sex and quickly finds a man to set her body aflame.  The book actually starts with her arranging for a wicked NYC weekend with another attorney from London, Richard.

Richard does drive Elizabeth to some sexual, and emotional, places she'd never before experienced.  But she doesn't discover the true kernel of her discontent until she meets up with a second cyber-buddy, Rob.  Rob is not the cyber-slut that Richard is, but Elizabeth is very drawn to him.  She finds he's living the life she gave up when she sacrificed her art for a stable, corporate job.  He encourages her to do the same, leaving all she knows for the creative life she'd once dreamed about.

It doesn't take Elizabeth long to decide that getting a divorce, quitting her job, and moving to NYC is what she wants more than anything.  A change that is far easier to say than to put into practice.  She knows she will not be able to walk away from her family, her responsibilities without terrible heartache.  What to do about her new revelations is a question she takes home, and only time will tell how her Three Days in New York City will impact the rest of her life.

Amusing.  Honest.  Wicked.
Three Days in New York City, published by Phaze, uses with these three words as the foundation upon which a wonderfully compelling story is built.  Told from the first person perspective, it is impossible not to fall into the mind and body of the very realistic forty-something heroine as she learns more about herself in three days than most women learn in a lifetime.  I strongly recommend you give this book by Ms. Slick a try.  The last page will definitely leave you begging for more.
