TITLE: Eyes of the Leopard 4: Superstitious New York City hairdresser Molly Turhune works to support her young son and her grandmother, who seems to be getting senile. Grandma Ruby claims to have been a voodoo priestess years ago in Louisiana. Molly has had her eye on the gorgeous UPS guy ever since he took the route that included the beauty shop. When she finally gets to cut his hair, it makes her so hot she can hardly stand it. And when they do make love, it is a real conflagration. Ilya Kolenkov is hiding—hiding in plain sight while he supports himself with the UPS job and works part time in a blood bank while he tries to unravel the genetic puzzle that makes him the shape-changer he is. In Molly he finds the woman he has always wanted, one sensual and compassionate enough to be his life mate. Several things are conspiring against them. Grandma Ruby is able to see Ilya for the demon he is. She hates and fears him. Second, he senses enemies closing in around him, enemies that might use those he cares for to get to him. He hates to endanger those he cares for. Can he act in time to save them? This is one hot story but the sex works well with the rest of the plot. The combination keeps a reader turning pages as fast as she can! I had to like Molly who is spunky, feisty and very real. She knows a lot of men are no good but that doesn’t cool her urges. She enjoys men and sex wholeheartedly. Ilya is more mysterious but from the first the reader senses he is basically good in spite of the curse he carries. His kindness and care for Molly and her family prove this. I will be looking for more tales in Ms. Jordan’s exciting Eyes of the Leopard series. I think there are many loose ends to be tied
up before she is through. Superstitious is a strong chapter to add to this wonderful urban fantasy series. |
