Eden, a evil vampiress, controls Dino closely, preparing to kill all the ancients so she may rule with her vampire army. However, Joey never expects to fall for the beautiful Dino. Passion and attraction turn to obsession, and he is quickly re-evaluating his duties. The plan is then hatched. Joey will kill Eden, releasing Dino from her control. They plot to kill Levi, but another vampire plans on doing the deed. Dino is released from Eden�s hold at her death, but is transferred her magic. Joey isn�t so fortunate, and Levi survives. Now Joey and Dino must face the wrath of Levi�and only their love and trust will help them survive. This is a good start and debut for author L.M. Davis. There is a passion between her characters and a firm grasp on using domination and submission to stimulate the reader throughout the story. However, the storyline was a bit confusing, especially in the beginning, and the characters seemed to change personalities throughout the book. Joe never seemed to be the same character from one minute to the next, which may be the author�s purpose. This reviewer wasn�t sure if he was to be commanding or submissive. It didn�t seem to depend on the other characters in the scene. The only characters well defined in the reader�s eye were the villains, Eden and Levi. They were strong, evil vampires, knew what they wanted, and didn�t care if they hurt anyone to get it. Joey and Dino came off as much weaker and less interesting because the villains were so much stronger in character, and literally took over the scenes. I would suggest this book for those who enjoy m/m romances with a flair for the kink. D/s and bondage scenes are well written and quite intense. There are multiple partner scenes as well. Not for the mild erotic romance fan. |

The commander has plans to make Raine his mate and to make some communication with Earth in hopes to obtain chocolate for their planet. However, as soon as Asher sees Raine he realizes this mission isn�t going to be so simple. Raine was drunk and she thought the come on lines Asher was using on her was cute. She had just found her boyfriend cheating on her and is trying to get over her trauma. But Raine finds out Asher is being honest when she finds herself in a spaceship on her way to another planet. She also comes to the conclusion that in her short time with Asher she has become quiet attached to him and has no desire to become his high commander�s mate. Heart of a Hunter was a good fantasy story and the characters seem likable but it was choppy and flimsy plot. I read it several times trying to find exactly what the author was trying to find something but couldn�t. I do think with some more work the story could be enjoyable. The Scion turns her over to Luke, a fully trained Peregrine Pilot. Okay, so Elise is a bit confused � how is a Pilot supposed to help her with her newly discovered but very embarrassing problem of levitating when she gets sexually excited? Little does Elise know but the Scion has not only lied to her but has ulterior motives, as does Luke! Actually there are a few things that both men �forgot� to tell her about her powers that she learns on her own! Morgan Hawke has written a really fun erotic fantasy. This is unlike Morgan�s recent books in that it�s �pure vanilla�, so be forewarned. That doesn�t mean this is a bad book, by any means! This is a totally different side of Morgan Hawke that I loved seeing! Luke is an honorable man who cares for Elise and wants the best for her! Elise is just discovering who and what she is and is drawn to Luke, with good reason! Do yourself a huge favor � buy this book and discover another side to Morgan Hawke. I enjoyed the book so much and I was very pleasantly surprised!! She did an excellent job! |
