Quotes

Quotes have in my opinion begun to rise in popularity. Everyone is being quoted now a days and almost everyone repeats these quotes to others. The quotes are witty, funny, and often times can change the way a person percieves the world. I myself have come across quite a few that have changed my outlook on many things in my life. This page alone is dedicated to quotes from both far and near. Some are of my makeing but many are not.

"History is always written wrong, and so always needs to be rewritten. ...What is interesting is brought forward as if it had been central and efficacious in the march of events, and harmonies are turned into causes. Kings and generals are endowed with motives appropriate to what the historian values in their actions; plans are imputed to them prophetic of their actual achievements, while the thoughts that really preoccupied them remain buried in absolute oblivion."
-George Santayana

"Don't sacrifice your life to work and ideals. The most important things in life are human relations. I found that out too late."
-Katharinde Susannah Prichard Australian Author

"Parents learn a lot from their children about coping with life."
--Muriel Spark

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."
--Rainer Maria Rilke

"True, we love life, not because we are used to living, but because we are used to loving. There is always some madness in love, but there is also always some reason in madness."
--Friedrich Nietzsche

"Every life has a story."
--A&E Biography

"If you don't know [your family's] history, then you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree."
--Michael Chrichton

"Life is just one damned thing after another."
--Elbert Hubbard

"Just as a tree without roots is dead, a people without history or cultur also becomes a dead people."
--Malcolm X

"I hate the whole reluctant sex-symbol thing. It's such bull. You see these dudes greased up, in their underwear, talking about how they don't want to be a sex symbol."
- Ben Affleck

"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph."
-Haile Selassie
